DISASTER!! We were told our pickup order would be ready in 30 minutes. Our dinner wasn't ready when we arrived 30 minutes later and we stood there for at least another 30 minutes before our dinner was ready. The majority of our meal sat on the counter (getting cold) while we waited for one last item. I told the worker I was concerned my food was getting cold; her response was "I hope not". We should have known better and just left. When we arrived home we had to warm up our food and then while eating we found a bug in one of our dishes. Of course we all stopped eating our food at that point. We called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager; the lady that answered the phone told us the manager was too busy to get on the phone. We then told the woman that we had found a bug in our food and all she could do is take our number so someone could call us back. Let's see how long that takes. $100 down the drain. Wife and I went to get something to go but ended up eating in. All the people were super nice even though it was close to closing time. We shared the roasted chicken and rice. Extremely disappointed. I ordered through Grubhub, which I have done many times before with numerous other restaurants. The feedback was very positive from their site, with excellent reviews and what appeared to be extremely satisfied customers. I ordered the Oxtapodi appetizer and the Falafel Yeero Sandwich. I placed my order at 11:45 in the morning, hoping to beat the lunchtime crowd. My food arrived at 2:25 PM, almost 3 hours later(!) by a buff, hairy man who resembled more of a prize fighter than a delivery guy. When I asked why it took so long, the driver gave no explanation, but instead, a hard stare, then proceeded to change the topic before slinking out of my store. I would later come to find after contacting Grubhub that the restaurant experienced what they described as 'busier than normal lunch crowd traffic' and that the kitchen was 'backed up'. Okay, I'll buy that - despite being a Monday at 11:45 AM in the morning. Again, I placed my order at 11:45 AM. After contacting Grubhub at 1:35 PM they informed me that the restaurant had sent out the driver for delivery with my order. That means it took him almost an hour before he got to me. That means that even IF they started making my order at 11:45 when I ordered it, it SAT UNDER A HEATING LAMP for over an hour! As for the food... The Oxtapodi arrived on a bed of sad, wilted lettuce and unappetizing soggy cucumber, also missing the Pita (which is fine, it didn't need it, and the Pita wouldn't have added anything to the order anyway). It was cold and lifeless. It was also heavily over-seasoned, but it was grilled well and it was tender, which are the only saving graces of this portion of the meal. I would have liked to experience it 'fresh'. As for the Falafel Yeero Sandwich. Sigh. Where to even begin? Arrived, like the Oxtapodi, cold and limp. The entire sandwich was doused in Tzatziki sauce (which normally I wouldn't complain about as I love the stuff, but this was, and I quote, 'smothered'). All I could taste was the sauce - it would have been almost better if they have just called the sandwich a Tzatziki Sauce Sandwich with a side of Falafel. It was also missing the side order of fries, which again, wouldn't have mattered in the end anyway. Worst of all was the price. 1 appetizer. 1 entree. $30. Now many of you would say, 'Well, that's your own damn fault.' and you'd be a hundred percent correct. However - delivery was a $25 minimum, AND there were delivery fee's - Oh, and let's not forget to tip the intimidating driver, you know for, erhem, "...excellent delivery services; right buddy?". Total racket they got working here - ice cold, sub-par food wrapped in lovely packaging and delivered by a member of the Greek Mafia. Either eat your food or sleep with the Octopus... Lesson learned; I am never ordering from this establishment again and I most certainly will not be recommending this place for future business. read more

When you move to America from Greece, you're looking for the best original Greek food. I've had problems finding such thing for years until Yiasou Yeeros opened up about two years ago. Excellent Greek food! The platters we're big and tasty. The Lemon Chicken soup was tasty. The veggies and salad were really good. There are a few tables, but it's really a take out place. A family of 4 can sit and eat, but more than that is pretty tough. Definitely a really good value, with excellent food. read more

A little disappointing. The salad was dry and they sort of combined the greek and yiasou salad, which was not what I had ordered, had to have them redo it. The price for adding meat was an extra $5.50 which seems excessive. My friend had the avgolemono (chicken soup with rice, egg and lemon) which was good but the chicken was not fully cooked. Im hoping that due to it being a fairly new place, this was just a one off experience. Will probably try one more time, though hopes are not high. read more

I have lived in the neighborhood for 28 years. I was so excited about an authentic Greek place coming into the neighborhood. I was there at 5:30pm and ordered a simple Greek salad no onions, no peppers with gyro meat with yogurt sauce. I drove 35 minutes to check this place out. I took my folks there as well. My father, a former diner owner and foodie, was more than impressed. He loved it! He is a tough critic. The food was plentiful and the staff was professional and courteous. The owners were pleasant!! Everyone always had a smile on their face. They all made sure we were pleased with our meal. It's been a few months since they've been open and I've been eating here just about weekly since. They've revamped some dishes since opening. Chicken yeero is sliced and very tasty/juicy. Chicken souvlaki recipe changed for the better! Also very tasty. Big fan of both the Avgolomeno and lentil soups. Love the beet salad. Many times will order that with side of meat. Beet and Meat. Tried the roasted chicken which was good. Lemon potatoes and rice are both delicious. Rice pudding tasted home made and a great ending to a meal. Oh yeah, the platters come with a very nice sized Greek salad with feta, perfectly ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and chopped lettuce. Give it a shot, especially since many of the less than positive reviews on here are not that recent since they've only been open since Thanksgiving weekend. read more

I've had greek food from many places on long island, and I have never ate from Yiasou Yeeros before . I saw on the news that it was very good food so I desited to go there. I ordered a chicken souvlaki. When started to eat it it tasted so fresh and good. I had a wonderful experience at this new restaurant. The chicken Yeeros platter was absolutely delicious. The chicken was deliciously seasoned and tasty. And the lemon potatoes were phenomenal. To make the experience even better, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even on a very busy Friday night. Their Greek salad is one of the best that I have try in New York with delicious feta which is probably imported from Greece because many Greek eateries use feta which made in other countries which you can understand the low quality. I usually get the Greek salad with grilled chicken. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff are very friendly. However, a few sundays ago I tried calling ahead to pick up. No answered. I decided to drive over. They were closed. When I went a week ago I mentioned this and no one knew what I was talking about. Huh? I went by this Sunday as they did not answer. They should not even get one star after I got food poisoning from here! I've eaten there many times but they must have slipped this time around and taken improper care of their food so I will never eat here again. Also that same day I was so frustrated with their service but that doesn't even matter after getting so sick! I don't remember the last time I ever got so sick before. But it's worth saying... there was a young, thin, tallish woman there with black hair who could careless about customers so why is she employed there!!! I was the only person waiting on a takeout order and she knew I was waiting. Threw the bag on the counter about 10 min after I checked in with her so I ignored it because she didn't hand it to me as I clearly thought that wasn't my order. 10 minutes later she looks at the bag and says "here." Not even an apology or anything. So I waited there staring at my order for 10 min before she decided to say anything meanwhile she was doing nothing! Horrible horrible attitude. Just got takeout here for lunch, been meaning to try it since it opened. So delicious! Although i got a simple meal its fresh and seasoned good. The tsaziki sauce is not runny and so on point. We were a party of 4 with a child and the food was great! However we were very disappointed with the service of the wait staff. When we asked for silverware .. they would look clueless and stare at our face for few seconds before responding... Same was the case with the person taking the order . She was not receptive about changing the order or for taking our questions about the dishes . This is our first time in the restaurant and overall we were happy with the taste but not the service!! Dissapointed with the quality the food came via delivery service on Chow Now and our daughters kids meal was cold, the saganaki was cold the order was to be delivered at the chow nows time it came an additional 30mins more. I rang the store on 2 occassions to follow up on the meals where they were and the attendant did not even bother to ask for my name just screamed out the deliveries are out and as I said politely - but you never asked my name? and when I rang 10mins later as this time its 1:30 mins since our order online, the delivery girl arrived and i said to her - I hope its not cold and she said no no its fresh! Bullocks it was cold disgusting and even for a Greek that lives on Long Island it was unacceptable. I do hope they pick up their game because the food quality I have had before straight from their store it was great but their delivery ordering times and set out needs a big work through especially when there are times you can't physically go out as you don't have a car to use and or your not due to go grocery shopping until the next day and you need to feed the kids! Up your game is my recommendation, install better customer service on your phone answering system and things will work efficiently and your delivery times whether its raining or not the food should not have arrived cold! read more

I've ordered from here a few times, I always order the pork soulvaki platter and it is always different. The portions always vary from a decent amount of meat or not enough. Sometimes the platter will come with tomatoes and onions and sometimes it won't. The food is consistently good, which is the reason why I like this place but I just wish they would be consistent on the size and contents of the platters. read more

Great addition to Plainview! Lunch was amazing. Food was super fresh and delicious. The zucchini chips were light and flavorful. The pitas were soft and seasoned well. I've ordered from here before and liked the food but after my experience today I will never order again. Don't think about ordering delivery from here. Order placed at 11:48am, I call at 1:15 to ask where my food is and get a quick response that because of the weather (its raining...) they are running behind and my order is en route. 30 minutes later I get a call from the delivery driver asking what entrance to use (at my office building) so I give a landmark, my company's logo, by the door. The driver then starts SCREAMING at me over the phone saying I didn't give any information for delivery and I need to find him. I ask him to drive to the entrance with the landmark I described. He yells again that he needs to get his route done. I finally found him (he never made it to the right entrance), he throws the food at me and walks out. The food was not worth the 2 hour wait. Everything was luke-warm and the chicken soup had a bone fragment in it. read more

number one my food was not ready on the agreed upon time and did not offer any compensation [rude]. number 2 if they know the french fries will get soggy fast why not say that on the phone before they charge me[rude]. i am sure they place orders of fries all the time and if they are running behind delivery schedule due to the rain then they should let me know the condition and how fast the fries get GROSS. they charged me 1 $ extra for my feta in my sandwich even though i replaced the onions with feta and they hardly even put any feta. [rip off]. they charged me a different price for the combo sandwich then what it says online. when the delivery finally got here the delivery person was rude and awkward. he was staring at me after i asked him what the change was. he says " i never had someone ask me the change amount, only the amount of the meal" well there is a first time for everything creeper. and when i went to reach for my money hes hovering over me waiting for his tip. if my lunch wasn't 5 dollars over the should be price i would have tipped him. when i asked for my full change back he says rudely "guess i am not getting a tip" now i really didn't want to give him anything for saying that. just not a good experience . if your in the service industry these people need to stop feeling entitled and serve the customers. the people working are not the customer they are the servers. serve the people the best they can regardless if they don't see a tip right away. if you are humbled you will get the tip you deserve. this delivery person really embarrassed me and made me feel uncomfortable . i wont be ordering again read more

YI have eaten there 4 times so far. The first 2 times I was really impressed with my food. I ordered the chicken souvlaki patter first. The white meat chicken was a little dry but with the tzatziki it was really good. The next 3 times I ordered the chicken gyro sandwich. The 1st time, I had nice strips of chicken gyro meat and the flavor was wonderful. The next time I ordered it, the chicken was all tiny little pieces. I called and asked what the deal was and they said I must have gotten the wrong order. So, I tried it again last night and I got the little tiny pieces. No strips that look like they were cut from the big piece of meat. I've read previous reviews where it says they precut their meat and keep it warm. So I must be getting the bottom of the pan dregs of meat that have crumbled off. I do want to say their beet salad and Aegean Slaw are delicious. When I go back, I am going to open the sandwich up there to make sure it is strips of meat and not crumbs of meat. read more
