Yo-Kai has solid ramen for a kiosk in Ontario Airport! I've been curious about this kiosk, as it always pops up as a recommended ramen joint in the Rancho/Ontario area. There is a limited selection of noodle soups ranging from tonkotsu to Taiwanese beef noodle soup to even beef pho! By the time I arrived to the terminal, most of the popular options were sold out, so I opted to get the Japanese shoyu ramen. The broth was well-seasoned, noodles al dente, and pork slices perfectly tender. It came with naruto, corn, woodear mushroom, and bamboo shoots. The kiosk has some sort of steaming function that heats the bowl of soup to scalding temperatures within 45 seconds - my hand was burning from how hot the bowl was, to the point where one of the employees offered to grab paper towels as a makeshift trivet. My only qualm is that there were no utensils/chopsticks/soup spoons! I'd definitely return the next time I'm at ONT! read more

If you happen to be at the Ontario airport and all of the restaurants are closed, this Yo-Kai Express may come very helpful to you. Its waiting to give piping hot food 24/7. If you are catching a flight to China, you know it is at very early hours and there is nothing to eat. I have tried almost all of the options this machine has. My favorite has been the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. My second favorite is the Pork Chatsu. After you get the dispensed bowl, do not forget to grab a box of utensils that's available right below the bowl dispenser. Before opening the lid, I usually stick the chopstick in the middle and swir around few times to keep the tempearature even. For rice dishes, I will do the same but wait few extra minutes for the rice to soak up the juice so you do not end up with runny rice dish. Enjoy! read more

Such a cool vending machine for all your Asian food needs. It heated up my Tonkatsu ramen quickly in a matter of a couple of minutes. The entire dish taste and presentation was so impressive for fast food ramen. I mean look at the egg and all the toppings that come with it. It truly satisfied my craving for ramen. I don't know where to start, the fact that a humble noodle soup kiosk even exists in the Ontario airport by gate 211 is amazing. But to think that the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup was more delicious than it had any right to be! Start to finish, it only took me a couple minutes to get my soup and there it was, this tasty soup. It came out hot (be careful), but the beef was perfectly tender, the noodles chewy, the vegetables properly firm, and the broth so flavorful. They even provide a solid utensil pack of chopsticks, fork, knife, and napkin. The only difficulty was finding a place to eat, but I was lucky enough to be the only person by the gate so I ate quickly on the ledge, full of wonder at this delicious bowl of soup that seemingly came out of nowhere. I passed through Ontario Airport sometime last year. I had a lot of time before my flight, and I had just eaten (darn!). I bookmarked this place during that trip, when I noticed a vending machine-looking contraption in a small vestibule. Hmm, what's that? Ramen? Huh? I checked out Yelp because someone had to review it if someone was brave enough to try it and hopefully liked it. Hmm! And sure enough, a flight attendant (ok, I have to trust their judgement because I'm sure they try all kinds of food all over the place!), and this flight attendant loved it! Ok, bookmark that for next time! During a recent trip, I remembered my bookmark and was totally curious! Ok, I looked at the menu and I picked the Tonkatsu Ramen. I heard some noise inside the machine, so something was definitely brewing. I waited a few minutes, and my ramen came out piping hot. I carefully removed it from the little door, and happily carried it away to try. Woo, it was nice and hot, the noodles were chewy and just right, the broth was so tasty, and I loved the pork and all the toppings (fish cake, green onions, corn, mushrooms) - mmm! As a flight attendant I get to fly into all kinds of places and try new things, but noodles from a vending machines were something I hadn't expected to see outside of japan! Unfortunately my first encounter with it ended with me not buying any because I was still full from dinner earlier but I saw on my schedule that I was flying in again in about a week and decided to wait until then to give it a go and man am I glad I skipped dinner and tried this out. Had the Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup 2x while waiting for flights out of Ontario Aiport, and both times, I was extremely impressed. The soup was hot but not scalding. However, it is a dish I would not eat on my lap. I would recommend the machine be placed closer to "table" seating areas at the airport. The little box of utensils is aorable and clean. Ok I was skeptical, but this is actually really good. The noodles were super chewy, meat was tender, broth was flavorful. I was shocked. I think it was only $12 too, which is CHEAP for airport food. If you're picky, it's not customizable. It lists the ingredients before you buy though. Just be careful, they warn you it's hot and IT IS HOT!!! Saw this vending machine in passing at ONT. This time I thought I would try it. All the menu items on the electronic screen looked pretty decent. I selected the Tonkatsu Ramen for $12.99. A screen showed the cooking progress, which took a few minutes to cook. The machine gave a small box with chopsticks, spoon, fork, and napkin. When it was ready, the bowl had piping hot ramen with fixings in it. The ramen tasted pretty good, the soup was good, the cha siu in it was pretty authentic and tasty, it pretty much hit the spot. I would buy from this type of machine again, probably will try another item on the menu. The only thing is I wished I would've checked in to save $1. Go try it! read more

The best affordable choice inside Ontario Airport! Until Chick-Fil-A opens, only this and Dunkin' are my choices. Rock & Brews is too expensive, the bagel place is meh, and the fish taco place is always closed. I recommend the Shrimp Tempure Udon or the rice bowl if you are lucky they are available. Just discovered this hot soup vending machine near the end of T2. I had the vegan udon which was so delicious, it was just as good or even better than most Japanese restaurants. If you are at Ontario airport (in the terminal area) this is fabulous! I had the Taiwanese beef noodle soup which is almost as good as my mom's. This was far better than the $12 sandwich with one slice of meat and soggy piece of lettuce at SeaTac airport. read more
