I have tried all the other places, tutii fruity, and tutii melon, and none of them have anywhere close to the number of toppings yogurt shack has. Their frozen yogurt is good, not great, but if you like lots of toppings on your ice cream, this is the place to go. read more

Definitely the best yogurt, in terms of flavor, in the bay area. This is a big compliment considering as I am used to the infamous Golden Spoon (So. Cal. chain) which is amazing. Only issue we have with the Shack is the price. They're charging way too much and they know it! But at least you get something delicious as a result. This is one of my favorite places on earth! I've been to lots of yogurt shops and this one takes the cake. It is always clean, the employees are friendly and the topping choices far exceed any other place I've been to. I'm also a big fan of having the scoops outside of the topping containers so your treat isn't covered in you predicessors' germs from the scoop handle...ew! A great place for frozen yogurt! Serve yourself... love it! Lots of choices for toppings, and I can have as little or as much as I choose. Not impressed. 4 teenage girls working behind, 3 of which were huddled together gossiping , not realizing I had a question about the candy situation..(some you can grab others have to be weighed separately?). We sat at a table of more teens, one of which had an apron on and was yelling to some kids (maybe 9 or 10 year olds) from across the room, coming up with numbers that equaled '69'. This is our "go to" place with the kids for a treat. Even though they are pretty busy, we can usually get a table inside or seating outside. Great flavors,with a good balance of standbys like chocolate and vanilla and some less common like watermelon. My wife loves the tart. Best selection of toppings I've seen. I always had issues with this place but patronized them anyway because they're locally owned, they hire the local kids, and support the local community (I think). That counts for something. Even when other places nearby were cheaper, cleaner, nicer, etc., I'd still come here. In return, the employees have regularly been so rude (that includes the owner) that I think I'm done with them, especially knowing that this kind of attitude starts at the top with the owners, in every circumstance. It's the owner's bad attitude embodied in their impressionable young workers. There's nothing special about frozen yogurt. Anybody can do it..you buy a mix and dump in into a machine. There's literally nothing to it. Their popularity is all about the environment, the vibe, the employees' attitudes, their willingness to stock the popular flavors instead of running out of things because they're too lazy to refill a machine, how they greet you and handle your questions or concerns....you know, the things that every business needs to offer, even those that have unique products and services, unlike frozen yogurt. So, when I'm treated rudely, I'm happy to go elsewhere. I hate giving my hard earned bucks to someone who's going to sneer at me because I'm interrupting their SnapChat, or asking for a lid for my cup, or coming in near closing time. Thanks, but no thanks. I like Yogurtland better anyway, at half the price. And Yogurtland is clean. A dirty "restaurant" is a real turnoff and when it's run by teenagers (got no problem with teenagers...glad to see them working) you can imagine the possibilities...no, don't. I frequent this place almost weekly as it's within walking distance, next to Primos, & is always clean. And, mostly as a treat for my kiddos. I've never seen an adult working there, just young girls. Unfortunately, the girls are only marginally friendly. Much more concerned with talking about "like, dumb girls at school." Mediocre customer service bugs me. Aside from that, I wish they had more variety in their topping options. Coming from the Central Valley, it seems fro yo is one of the few things they do better there. Would love to see more fresh fruit of the tropical variety, kiwi & mango. And where are the fruit sauces, marshmallow cream, & tajin? Also, just a suggestion, slice the strawberries in fourths not halves; they'll be easier for little mouths to shovel in. Not my favorite yogurt shop ever, but a little improvement in the customer service area would definitely bump it up to 4 stars for me. read more

I really really love this place. I now need some yogurt from Yogurt Shack in my freezer at all times. Besides the yummy taste of it, it's so fun to go in and serve yourself whatever you like...mix a few flavors, top it with 10 different toppings if you want, and pay by the weight! It's awesome. OK, I have a serious problem with the lack of frozen yogurt places in the world. I don't count TCBY as frozen yogurt, so the options are even more limited. When I went to Yogurt Shack I was so happy that it made my ventures to my parent's in the East Bay that much more enjoyable. Who wouldn't love self serve frozen yogurt (you know everybody wants to pull the handle on that machine!), plus self serve toppings! And the toppings are not just sprinkles and M&Ms, there are all sorts of candy bars, all sorts of gummies, chocolate rocks, yogurt chips, granola, fresh fruit, YUM! A yogurt shop couldn't get any better. There are about 5-6 yogurt shops closer to my house and I've tried EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM and nothing beats Yogurt Shack. All the other yogurt shops in the area have less flavors, taste "icey" (why would I want my yogurt to taste like ice??? if I did, I would've chose to eat ice ..bleh!), and less toppings. The flavors @ Yogurt Shack range from fruity for the fruity lovers, to non fruity....cappucino, peanut butter, chocolate, ...etc.. YUM!!! They have every topping imaginable. The layout of the shop is perfect too.. while some places have this weird separation between the yogurt machine and toppings (ie..Yogurtland) Yogurt Shack doesn't...this means you can fill your cup halfway, put toppings, and go back for more yogurt. The layout @ Yogurtland doesn't allow for this. Plus their yogurts there are too icey and the flavors are weird. The abundance of toppings @ yogurt shack is overwhelming... When you go to these other places (ie Yogurtland, Tutti Mellon @ Blackhawk, or yogofina in Danville) they have these tiny dispensers....When I'm loading up on almonds, I don't like to think I'm limited to 15 almond pieces for christ's sake. PLUS...Yogurt Shack doesn't let customers sample their own samples so you won't find little kids sticking their dirty fingers up the yogurt dispenser. read more

This is my favorite place to get yogurt in the area. The flavors are great! I love the French Vanilla. It tastes like marshmallow and the best vanilla soft serve ever! The only downside is I feel like they don't trust their customers with the samples. I have to ask to try the flavors which seems silly. Plus, they give me (and my kids) too much. This place is great & truly genius at once. You have hardly any overhead cost for the owners, as the consumer you make your own treat (win win situation) and it must makes a ton of money. The staff is friendly and courteous and the choices are abundant to say the least. You choose from about 6 different yogurt (one with zero milk in case you are lactose intolerant or just don't like milk) then you can put your choice of at least 50 toppings on, just as you like them. Excellent Fro Yo! Great flavors with an extensive selection of toppings!

After a long morning with kids it was a perfect little mid afternoon snack for a group of high energy children. I came into yogurt shack and was warmly welcomed by the staff then followed by asked if I wanted to try any of the 10 widely ranged flavors. One child was lactose intolerant so the dairy free option was perfect. One of the best parts about yogurt shack was that everyone could get as much or as little as whatever yogurt flavor (mixing numerous flavors or not) as desired. After dealing with flavors we headed down the long row of toppings. There was every topping possible like nuts, chocolate, hot toppings, cookie dough, fruit variety, and of course whipped cream Upon request. As we carried through the like topping our yogurts with our desired flavors of toppings, we finally made it to the cash register. We were greeted and continued into conversation with the cashier. Our total of 4 yogurts was under 15 dollars which is nearly impossible at leading ice cream and yogurt shops. We then sat down and enjoyed our yogurt. I loved how friendly the employees were as well as how clean the restaurant appears to be. Will for sure be returning to our new favorite yogurt location read more

My family and I just recently moved into the area. I went here the other morning with my kids and was blown away at the atmosphere and friendly staff! The yogurt was absolutely to die for and my kids were going into shock at the number of toppings and candies to choose from. It is beyond clean from top to bottom and the fruit is very fresh. The young lady working was very kind and sweet and was more than happy to help us. I will definitely be coming back soon ! read more

Yogurt Shack is a decent place. The Yogurt is not that great, but it's a good place to hang out. The enviroment is very chill and the workers are always nice to you. However, the yogurt is very below average. There are many more place where you can find better yogurt. It's thick and the taste isn't that great. It's satisfactory, but not great. There are a lot of toppings, but they don't have mochi. for me, a yogurt place NEEDS mochi. This place does not. Very disappointing. Also, the strawberries are thick. This was very displeasing. With celiac disease, it is imperative to not have cross contamination with gluten containing products, and to label foods as gluten free. it is successful b/c you can make your own cup. is it tasty? well yeah if you put tons of candy toppings! when it comes down to the quality and the taste of the yogurt, it is terrible. tastes like chemicals. what is up with the wicker furniture? it has a good location and it works for kids since they like the toppings more than the yogurt. just a place full of soccer moms with their spoiled kids and gas guzzling vehicles. read more
