Delicious options! Grab a cup, pick your poison, and head to the register. They no longer charge by weight, but rather by the cup size you select! Mind blown.

It's 8:00 PM in the dead of winter. You're a bachelor. You've just purchased a bunch of dusty 40-year-old Atari 2600 cartridges. The Italian horror film you're helping finance is about a paranormal serial killer played by Iggy Pop who scoops out children's eyeballs with a melon spoon. Naturally you're craving frozen yogurt. I'm sure you can relate. If this sounds like you, then consider visiting the Yogurt Zone at Bandera and 1604. The setup is entirely self serve. You grab a paper bowl (small or large), chose from among twelve flavors (mixing and matching is encouraged), and then help yourself to the toppings bar. The flavors range from traditional (vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) to more exotic/regional (taro root, horchata). I filled my large bowl with a trio of complementary flavors (chocolate, strawberry, and pistachio) but felt compelled to try salted caramel as well. Perhaps next time. I scanned the list of ingredients posted above the dispensers and was pleased to see all-natural flavors and real fruit extracts. The toppings bar features approximately thirty options, everything from M&M's to fresh fruit to flavored tapioca pearls. I fought the urge to go overboard and chose chocolate chips, cherries, and fresh raspberries. Keep in mind that you pay by the ounce, so exercise restraint. If you allow your child to help itself (yes, I used the "it" pronoun), then pay close attention lest you spend $50 on a mountain of Milk Duds and gummy worms. As I was ready to check out, the ebullient young man at the counter asked, "Care to guess?" He explained that if you guess the weight correctly, you get the yogurt for free. I sized up my massive bowl and estimated 18.8 ounces. Alas, I was off by only .4 ounces, so I paid the $10.45. This may sound slightly exorbitant, but the yogurt was delicious and fat free, so I felt like I got my money's worth. My only suggestion would be to display the price per ounce at the register, as some folks may balk at paying $10 for a bowl of yogurt. Self-serve places can become filthy in an instant (it takes only one zealous two-year-old or middle-aged slob to make a mess), but the shop was impeccably clean. The yogurt dispensers and tables were free of smears and the toppings bar was immaculate, an impressive feat for what appeared to be a one-man operation. The storefront is lined with statements espousing the supposed health benefits of yogurt (some backed by science, others a bit far fetched), but flavor and quality are what matter the most. Yogurt Zone succeeds on both counts. Highly recommended for bachelors, Atari gamers, Italian horror film financiers, and anyone else with a predilection for cool, creamy, healthy treats.

Always very clean. Parking in front is tricky but there's normally no cars on the side. Always greeted nicely. Selection of cups is easy and there are taster cups too! You self serve your yogurt and try to keep clean! Makes it easier for everyone! Their toppings are normally pretty full try not to go too late and they refill around lunch time. There are so many selections! And many places to sit inside and outside

a row of ice cream machines

I have been coming to yogurt zone for a while. However, this time the frozen yogurt dispensing machines were dirty and handles were sticky. The floors were dirty and baseboards have mold buildup. Also, there were quite a few fruit flies flying around the toppings.

Yes, another place I'm a regular and yes, I'm a huge fan! Just love how clean this place is kept and how fresh the fruit is! The kids love coming here and I'm so glad it is close to home. Having the frequent flyer punch out cards and the groupon/living social coupons definitely helps with continued loyalty to this place for me. Will keep coming as long as they continue with great upkeep and customer service. The folks who work here are wonderful and not too stuck up to say "Hi" or offer a sample cup or really be a great example of what customer service is about. I hope the management reads this and delivers the pat on the backs.....

I stopped by Saturday evening and no, they do not offer dairy free.

I also like how they charge by weight unlike the yogurt place that starts with Orange something across the street.

Instead, they offered a promo where if you buy a cheesecake jar, you got a free drink. Score! I tried the tres leches cheesecake, and it was delicious! It wasn't too sweet, which was great. I do wish the layer of cake was a bit taller. I do love how the cheesecakes come in a glass jar so I can reuse it, but you can also save them and give them back when you accumulate 10 for a free jar of cheesecake. As for the drink, I got a dragonfruit strawberry matcha latte. It was pretty good, but I felt like the strawberry was a little overpowering and I couldn't taste the dragonfruit. The cheesecake + matcha for $7 is a great deal! The workers were so nice, and I really love the logo of this place. Great local business to support!

The place itself was nice and clean and the setup is cute. There are only a few seats inside but I think more meant to take on the go. The ladies there were very nice to us and explained the different cute cheesecakes they had in these little mason jars. They do have glutten free, sugar free options too if you are the type of person needing to watch what you eat. They all looked really cute but settled on a tiramisu. I wont lie I did get thrown off on taste at first since my thought keep me thinking it wasn't a cheesecake but it tasted good. I did bring it home to chill it more and tasted even better. I also had this mix berry match that was good as well. I think this place is definitely worth trying for any cheesecake lovers out there. Good coffee drinks too.

I'm vegetarian and pregnant so my menu had to be modified but I was so blown away by the fact that they were able to accommodate for me and took such care in making sure my plates met the caliber and intended feeling/taste of the non vegetarian dishes. Same with the drink pairings, although mine were non alcoholic, it wasn't just a blah substitution, they really put a lot of care into making sure the drink matched the energy and vibe of the alcoholic version. My husband and I loved the story telling that went with each dish that described the chef's intentions and the products used for each bite. This was our first fine dining experience and we couldn't have been more satisfied. We were celebrating my husband's graduation and they even had a little card for him signed by the chefs! So cute! I'd definitely recommend checking this place out for a special occasion, or if you're just curious about what a Michelin Star dessert restaurant is all about.

Luckily for me, I went the day after memorial day so the lines weren't that bad and the red carpet laid out in front of the restaurant was all clear. I grabbed a menu before it was my turn to order. It's a lot to choose from and without pictures it's difficult to tell what most of the items are. Especially for a first timer. So, I ordered what the gentleman in front of me had which was a plain croissant with butter. It looked better than it tasted. I chose not to use the butter because the croissant was cold so butter wouldn't take to it well. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheese and avocado. The eggs were delicious, cooked well and flavored nicely. But my avocados were oxidizing so the presentation wasn't appealing. My husband's breakfast scramble was filled with eggs. cheese, and turkey, but wasn't filled with flavor of any kind. It's a lively atmosphere. Great for large groups. There's seating outside so if you're feeling like sitting amongst pedestrians walking by, it's perfect. The service was slow. Really slow. I overheard they were backed up so by the time my macchiato was delivered I was almost done eating.
