I have to say they were ready and had 5 people working that day as they were anticipating a long line. Everything was kept clean that day. I like their kit kat yogurt really good. The funny thing is after our Yelp event we went here at night time. I am sure Tuesday night was not too busy, but they had 1 person working there and she was kept very busy as she was filling the machines, being the cashier taking at the trash, etc. The place was dirty as there were toppings on the floor and the machines were very sticky. We visited on a Sunday and it wasn't busy. There were plenty of seats and 2 annoyed customers waiting to be checked out. Apparently, they only had one employee and she was in the back for a long time. When she returned to the front of the store, she had a mean look on her face. I guess she's having a bad day. This is my favorite yogurt place in all of Sacramento! We've been to many other places but this beats them hands down by a mile lol. Their flavors are the bomb and nobody beats the choices or toppings! You know the saying "a pic speaks a thousand words" I'll let you all be the judge and let me know what you think. Consider letting go of your closer on Sunday nights. I did not get his name. He had shoulder length hair, dark features, no name tag, middle eastern. We tried to sit down outside at 10:30 pm. There were still another group sitting down outside. There was only 2 of us and he told us he's closing so he's taking all the chair inside. He wasn't kind at all. I asked if they are still open for 30 more minutes and he replied rudely that he's still taking all chairs inside. I asked to sit inside then and he said "I'm cleaning the floors in there"... with 30 minutes left? Him and I were the same age so it takes a lot for me to say something. I've been out of the frozen yogurt world for a long time only recently "finding" it again. I stopped into this location mostly due to peer pressure. It's not a shopping area that I typically frequent (busy traffic intersection) on the corner of Madison Ave and Sunrise Blvd. I've been to this location of Yogurtland 4 times in the last 2 months. What What!? There are perhaps 10 flavor and froyo style options. Toppings maximus here. The staff is present (that's about all I can say about that .. no star dings for that .. I came for the froyo). Yah, it's good stuff. I'm not really a sweet fanatic and I tend to lean tart-side. Plain Tart with a few Cinammon Toast Crunch squares tossed in. I don't load up my cup, maybe 1/3, weighed in at $2.40 and hits the spot. My Frojo Commentary: Frozen yogurt was the "in" thing a couple decades ago with lots of Mom n Pop shops around. Some kind a consumer/market plague (not able to meet consumer wants) knocked most of them out of business. "He who rejects change is the architect of decay." A recent resurgence of frozen yogurt, through independents and chains, is apparent. Many more dietary alternative (fat free, sugar free, dairy free, ices, and whips) that weren't the norm before. I was literally crushed when the location in Roseville closed down because their yogurt doesn't have gross artificial flavors and they have the best gummy bears ever! Oh, and they always have around 12 yogurt flavors available. Amazing. I made my Husband bring me to this location because I had never been, and we had just finished dinner and I needed something sweet. I say my Husband had to bring me because I had a few beers at dinner and couldn't drive myself. This should come as no surprise to anyone. The inside is very clean and has plenty of tables to sit at as well as a few outside. Employees were friendly as well and always offer free sample cups. I declined then this time because I knew exactly what I had come for. The small cups are huge and always sufficient for more than enough yogurt. I close their Vanilla Malt Frozen Yogurt (my favorites are their Cherry and Blueberry) and I like my yogurt toppings simple, so I put gummy bears on top. Prices are great and it was only around $6 for both my Husband and I. I will definitely be back to this location for more yogurt because it is the best yogurt in town and well worth the drive. This Yogurtland use to be a favorite of mine, my friends, and my family. It seems there has been a change in management or something, and it is AWFUL! They close early (despite posted signage) and there are multiple flavors that are always out. The employee that works regularly is not helpful in fixing and maintaining the machines, so things are often out of service. Very sad as this was a regular stop for us. This location is bigger than most of the Yogurtlands I've been to. Roseville maybe Elk Grove and Folsom are the other locations opening up soon. Roseville not sure where yet but they told me opening in 2 weeks so end of Aug 2013. I'm just glad this place finally opened up near my area so now I don't have to drive all the way to Arden Fair Oaks or even Berkeley/San Jose/Palo Alto/SF City College. Took my daughter here yesterday for a treat. As we were enjoying our yogurt, I witnessed the employee come out to clean up the area. In that time I saw her use the same towel to wipe the tabletop, the feet of the table, the chairs, the top of the trash can the wall and also the drip pans where you receive the yogurt. They were offering free yogurt today from 4-7, so there were really long lines as expected. My only issue was the lack of good selection for froyo flavors. There was a mint chocolate flavor, but I'm not a mint lover, so I was looking for your typical chocolate or cookies and cream...or even cake batter. They could have a few more topping options, but the fact that they have soooo many froyo flavors makes up for it. They have 16 machines and each machine swirls their flavors. That makes 24 amazing flavors. Their toppings are always fresh, and they change them out every couple hours. Cold water with strawberries is complimentary. Always multiple chocolates, pecan, vanilla etc. I think they have only added a few new flavors over the past year. I check on a regular basis. No real selection. Machines don't work. Flavors listed on the website are not what the store has in stock. Site listed Tart Blueberry, not there. Probably because it is a new flavor. Fruit toppings are pretty much non existent. They may have 3 berries in the topping area. That's 3 berries in the container. Dry toppings are packed. It's too bad this place went downhill. Even the texture isn't the same. I have enjoyed going to the CH YL from opening day. The flavors are fun and enjoying the toppings. I was in this week with my small dog. When I went to get a cup I was approced from behind asking if this was a service dog. I was told to take the dog out side and have my friend watch her so I could get my yogart I got the speech that's it's a state law, no dogs in food places. Their is no sign in the window saying service dogs only. I asked for 3 minutes to get so yogart, pay and leave. On their facebook page is their mission statement about having a good day with a smile. Love this place! They typically have a great variety of yogurts and toppings. Staff is always very nice. The reward program is pretty fair. I actually feel like it doesn't take me a year to get some award out of it. When you walk in they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a free fruit infused water inside as well. There is even a small party room if the little ones want to have a Birthday there. The only areas of opportunity is the cleanliness from time to time. Sometimes the bathrooms look like the party room. Also the areas where the yogurt can drip is sometimes not well maintained. I had been to a Yogurtland on Fair Oaks a few years ago that went out of business and always had a good experience so I thought I'd check this location out. The young lady at the register was not friendly at all...I don't think she spoke one word to me. No greeting, no smile, no thank you. Even when I asked about a lid, she just lazily pointed at them. They have a lot of flavors but the way the store is set up is awkward. You have to wait until you're in line to pay to get toppings and then of course feel rushed because there's people behind you waiting. They didn't have half the toppings as other chain froyo places and the ones I got were stale because they're not covered. Just open to the air and everyone's covid coughs. Eww. I went to Yogurtland with my sisters and boyfriend tonight and had a disappointing experience. At least three of the yogurt machines were out of service, and they didn't have many of their standard flavors, such as chocolate. We were trying out the other "working" machines and found that many of these machines were out of yogurt as well. After trying several of these machines without success, my boyfriend tried pushing a button on one of the machines that was supposedly "in service" in an attempt to try to get it to work. After pressing the button, the machine started working. My sister expressed excitement that the machine was working. However, immediately afterward, an employee came out onto the floor from behind the machines (with her mask half off) and stated, in a very rude manner, "Yeah, I've been back here tying to get the machine to work. It takes a long time - you can't just go pressing buttons." She then stormed off while we were trying to respond to her. We were so turned off by the whole experience that we left and went down the road to Pinkberry, where the employees were very friendly. Will not be returning to Yogurtland any time soon. read more
