Yoloberry is a great hangout spot for all ages. Their patio out front is nice for large, simple gatherings and even though their seating is minimal inside, the location serves as a nice spot for people watching. Main dislikes are of the selection of toppings: the gummy candy and brownies or cookies always seem to taste stale and tasteless. The fruit is cut rather large so you get charged more per oz. and no matter how little or much I pack my yogurt it's been more than $4.50...yogurt excursions are getting a little to expensive for me. Especially if the flavors are "just okay". I might just be a little too much, but I hope you still continue to go. This place is iconic to Davis. 3 stars if you're looking for tart yogurt, 4-5 if you're into sweet yogurt or candy. Yolo Berry is a little shop near campus, and it is absolutely full of toppings! In fact, I took another cup (it is self serve at 39 cents an ounce) just for candy. There are gummies, chocolates, malt balls, candy corn, etc. I ended up getting chocolate covered bananas, chocolate covered strawberries, and yogurt covered raisins to gnosh on. There were six flavors, including cake batter and chocolate, but only one was tart (original). I got the original tart as well as orange burst sorbet. My Froyo tasted almost like a creamsicle! The original tart was decent but I do prefer more tartness in my Froyo. I did like the sorbet. As far as toppings go...if you're a toppings person it is somewhat overwhelming! Candy candy candy and not just candy but syrups and homemade mochi. I got green tea flavored and plain mochi (no flavored mochi this day) and found them nice and chewy, though the green tea didn't go that well with my froyo. There are also brownie bits, cookie dough, peanut butter cups, etc. I got this unidentifiable cut up cake-stuff. OMG it was so good. Reading other peoples' reviews, my guess is that it was cheesecake. Maybe that's why it tasted so familiar. The fruit selection isn't as great. No berries =(. They did have fresh mango, pineapple, kiwi, and banana, but it was nowhere as great as the South Bay selection of fruit! When the froyo craze first hit Davis, it was Swirl (now known as Cultive). Recently Pinkberry left town, so I ended up at Yoloberry. Got their seasonal pumpkin swirled with vanilla yogurt and loaded it up with wafers, yogurt chips, pretzels, graham crackers, caramel and butterscotch sauce. A gummy worm may or may not have also snuck in there. Don't know what it is, some days I feel super chocolatey, and sometimes I feel more tart/fruity...they have stamp/punchcards I believe, discount cards for other business downtown as well. Seating outside is nice, they even have a little child-sized bench for the kids. Will be back for free froyo on my birthday. read more

One of the lone survivors of the frozen yogurt purge of 2014, this place is not bad. I've come here countless times in the last 6 years, and it's always fine. They always have one sorbet option, but it's never that good. I wish they did better on that - it makes me miss Yogurtland. They do have a ton of toppings, which is great, and the price isn't bad. Yoloberry used to be one of my favorite froyo places in Davis until I realized I can totally get a good priced froyo with all my favorite toppings without it melting in a minute ... like at Yogurtland or sometimes even Cultivé that's a few streets away. The thing that breaks this place for me is the fact that your froyo will literally melt in a few minutes and you're just basically drinking your froyo at that point. I'm not sure if I just had bad luck and people didn't push the levers that distribute the froyo all the way back up in order for the froyo to remain frozen ... but the past 3 times I've come to Yoloberry, my froyo always melted super fast :( Yoloberry has a great candy selection & seasonal flavors that actually taste good, which is a shame because I don't see a point in putting these toppings on my froyo when it's just going to be mixed in my froyo soup ! I come here every time I'm in davis. It is a LOT more pricey during COVID as you choose a size and flavor, it's put in a cup for you, and you must pay $1 for each topping you want. Toppings are served in little condiment plastic containers. Does it stop me from going? No. I have yet to find another froyo place that has Nutella and cheesecake bites- my favorite. But I used to pay about $7 when I visited and now it's about double. read more

Came here today to escape the 100+ degree heat in Davis. They have about 6 selections of yogurt which ranges from the basic tart to fruity to chocolaty flavors. The froyo flavors are typical of any froyo place - basic but a great escape from the heat! I got the tart and tropical (tasted like Dole whip!). The tart tasted like any other tart froyo (which isn't a bad thing!) and the tropical one was good too! They have a good amount of toppings lined up on their wall next to the froyo machines. I would say these are pretty typical of any froyo places as well - chocolates, nuts/granolas, cookies, candies etc .. they also have a fridge which has colder toppings such as fruits, mochi, and popping boba! Overall, it there isn't anything special about it, but it was a nice treat in the hot weather! Definitely recommend if you're craving something cold and refreshing! read more

Hands down my favorite self-serve frozen yogurt spot in Davis! The staff is always friendly and the tiny place has a homey atmosphere. Theres a tiny front yard with tables and benches, perfect when the weather is nice :-) Not as fond of their toppings (I wish they had cheesecake!) but I love their frozen yogurt. They switch flavors every day or two and they post it daily on their Twitter! I highly recommend dulce de leche. It has a rich caramel flavor and a little on the sweet and creamy side. My best friend LOVES this place, and she has taken me twice. Their yogurt is definitely waaaaaay too melty for me, the consistency needs to be better. Flavor selection is also pretty limited, only about 5-6. They do have a really impressive toppings bar, everything from candy to syrups to fruits. 39 cent/oz is a bit pricey, but only because I live in the SGV where I expect my yogurt per oz to be within 30-35 cent/oz range. But, I will have to say, this place has really super friendly workers which I love because they greet you like you are a regular and with a smile all the time. Out of all the froyo places that I've been to, they have to best mochi (tastes fresh and not tough to chew). I had the chance to try Yolo Berry while my poodles and I were visiting friends in Davis. I'd mentioned that I finally had a chance to try Pinkberry in SoCal and that I really liked how tart their original yogurt was. My friend suggested that we give one of the local yogurt shops a try; we picked this one since it was walking distance. I really wanted to like this place. I'm all for the local businesses over the national chains, but they need to be at least as good or better. Sadly, I did not find this to be the case at Yolo Berry. There were half a dozen flavors to choose from, all of them non-fat. Now, I suppose there are those who think of frozen yogurt as "lite" ice cream, but I'm not one of them. Dairy should be creamy, period. If there were even one low-fat flavor I might have been happier. While the yogurt flavors were pretty limited, there was an abundance of toppings. Unfortunately 95% of them were sugary cereals, candy, or goopy sauces. The fruit was akin to pie filling rather than fresh fruit. It took me a while to find the simpler toppings I favor -- chopped nuts, toasted coconut, mochi. I'm glad I persisted in looking for the toppings I like, since as it turns out they were all that I ate. The yogurt had an off chemical taste. Combined with the icy texture, I couldn't help but think that the yogurt came from some sort of industrial "just add water" powder mix. Not my thing. Not the first froyo place in Davis, but it's definitely an original. When I get froyo, I usually don't overload the toppings so I'm obviously not taking full advantage of what they've got. However, their prices are competitive and I like the atmosphere! I was disappointed by the availability of flavors, only 6, I'm much more used to 10-12+ flavors when I get to choose, but oh well, it was still good. The lady that served us (pink/red haired lady- sorry I didn't get your name) was so patient with me. I have 2 young kids with several allergies and she definitely helped me feel safe ordering. Whoever is running this establishment should be arrested for robbery. I have never in my life spent nearly $20 on frozen yogurt, not even at Pinkberry. Unless these frozen yogurts come with a back rub or kissing my toes for that price, I will not be coming back here. Am I exaggerating? Not even the slightest. Let me tell you what you're going to expect... You come in and see some delicious sounding flavor profiles. You grab there smallest size cup that Ronald McDonald decided to supersize and fill it up just a tiny bit because you've realized how large the cups are. Then you browse through the various candy and hard toppings just as you normally would. Then you see a wide variety of syrups and sauces. Now it's looking pretty good. Last but not least, you see the fruits and finishing garnishes. You noticed that the fruits aren't sliced, diced, or cut in the pieces. They're either whole or halved, but you're too deep into making a tasty cup of frozen yogurt to realize it's a scam to make the cup heftier. You get to the register looking at cashier with a smile as you can't wait to enjoy your creation. Then BOOM. You've been bamboozled. The cashier tells you that it cost $18.95, your kidney, and a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. And just like that, I've saved you a trip and $20. read more
