Awful! Ordered a hamburger steak cooked well. When the hamburger steak arrived at the table, the meat had blood running out of it and was pink all around. I asked to have the hamburger steak thrown back on the grill to cook longer and the cook denied that request and said "you ordered well and that[s what this is and I am not cooking it any longer." Not a current review but back in 90-92 we (Ranger Instructors) used to eat here pretty regular before heading up to Yonah Mountain or after coming down from the mountain. The burgers were simple with slaw as the main topping. I would get two with an order of fries and a cold drink. The burgers were awesome and really hit the spot! I don't live near Yonah Burger in Cleveland, GA but sure would like to get back to see how much has changed over the years. Too bad I don't have a picture to share. You have to clean off your own table and get condiments from another area. The napkins are so thin you need 20 to do any good. Very casual and un-fancy - it's about good, big burgers and nothing else. $5-6.50 depending on number of patties and toppings. Another buck gets you crunchy crinkly fries and a drink. This is a great local and tourist favorite for back to basics huge, burgers. It is kind of small, about 6 booths inside and several tables outside so it fills quickly. Order at the window and find a seat. Take out window and eating slightly off peak hours are viable options. Inside is a nice gas fireplace to keep it warm in winter and a flat screen tuned to a football game. There are a row of hot sauce choices if you like. This restaurant was recommended to us as a place to get a great burger. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon after visiting the area. It is an order at the counter and the food will be delivered to your table kind of place. Hubby and I each ordered a cheeseburger combo, his with no lettuce and mine with no mustard. We took our drinks and looked for a table to sit down. First clue that this was not going to be a good experience was that the place was crawling with flies!!! I understand it is summer in Georgia and flies may come in when the door is opened but I am talking that there were no less than 6-8 flies buzzing around and landing just on our table! I took a look around and saw other patrons shooing flies away, too. I had ordered half sweetened and half unsweetened iced tea to drink ( I know that typically sweet tea is too sweet for me) and it still was like syrup. It took over thirty minutes for our food to be brought out and then my burger had mustard on it. I took it back to the counter and told the cashier that I had ordered it with no mustard. She asked me if mustard was on the burger?? They changed the bun and gave it back to me. We found the burgers ok but certainly nothing special. This restaurant is most likely one of the only "fast food choices" in this remote area and is able to get away with offering mediocre food at a premium price (about $11 for each combo). The cleanliness of the place is definitely questionable with the many flies present. I will be sure to steer away from this establishment in the future and would recommend that you do the same. read more

Regardless of this being a family friendly place with delicious food, the service was awful! We came around 1:20ish on Monday November 4, 2019. We came all the way from SC to have some burgers. We entered the bathroom and they were absolutely disgusting. We ordered and everything was fine. We waited for 40 minutes and when our food arrived, it was cold and our fries we super crunchy. The waitress was very rude and she had an attitude. She tossed our food and treated the other customers who were Caucasian, like family. I don't eat burgers often but it was worth it! Fresh, big and delicious! The only thing I would had like was spicy or Dijon mustard. Everything is made to order and they serve breakfast too with homemade biscuits. I'll have to try this next time. My family and I ordered food here one day and I hate to give bad reviews but the flys were horrible. Not fries ... flys. They were everywhere. I didn't even eat the food I ordered after I paid for it. While waiting on our food I observed a little girl at a table with a fly swatter smacking at the flys while her family ate. Yuck! Yonah Burger? We sure did, so we stopped and get a couple. The burgers were great, cooked well all the toppings I asked for, I was pleased. I had the chili cheese fries, which were also good. The only thing I didn't care for was the amount of flies inside the building. It's a sealed building, but there were dozens of flies in there. This is the original location and has been serving perfection for more than 40 years. The burgers are big and fixed however you want them. The crinkle fries are good, but the onion rings are what you'll want to order. Don't waste your money or time at all of the fast food joints that have popped up around Cleveland. I come here a lot especially for breakfast and here lately when I call to place my order the phone line is busy. I came in to place my order and the waitress was talking to whomever was in the kitchen. She saw me and continued her conversation, 20 minutes later she walks up front and asks for my order and then tells me sorry we are no longer serving breakfast, this is now a minute past when they stop serving breakfast and if she had been doing her job and taken my order I wouldn't have missed breakfast. Simply the best fresh food ever! Sides are simple and fresh. Who doesn't love fried pickles? Or beer battered onion rings? The burgers are local and fresh. Hadn't been back to Yonah Burger is 1 1/2 years, so was surprised by the renovations that have taken place. Yea! The bathrooms are now new, clean and inside!!! Now the best part....the FOOD is just as good! I was concerned when I saw that the kitchen had been moved to the back of the walk-up/order section, but no worries. I had been trying to get my daughter to go with me to this burger 'joint' for years, and finally she agreed. The Yonah Burgers are as good as ever...as were the fries and onion rings. ive been there more then 3 times trying to keep giving it more chances .. i travel alot for work and when i keep coming back here i think they'll maybe change.. overall my experiences there were pretty bad, they dont keep a steady pace at always having inventory. theres no trash cans there either so thats pretty unusual .. seeing used trays and dirty tables is not sanitary and the food there is not good at all. onion rings are caked in un cooked batter' the burgers are really greasy and everything else is just not pleasing to the eye or taste. i would not recommend this place what so ever. its been under 2 different managements and both seem to have a lack of professionalism in running a food chain read more

Must survive due to being one of the few burger places in town that isn't a Wendy's or a Mcdonalds. Wouldn't last long in Atlanta. Terrible service from a staff who just seemed indifferent. After standing at the window for ten minutes and have multiple workers look over at me and saying nothing they finally acknowledged my presence and allowed me to order.
