    Wontons in Chili Oil Sauce

The best thing I did directly after getting off my flight to Chicago was to go to Yoo Yee for lunch. Everything we got was so incredibly flavorful and hit the spot. The noodles were chewy, wontons filled with meat, and lamb cooked so authentically. The spice level is not very spicy though, at least not for me (I'm from the west coast) but I loved every bit of the savory, sweet, and tartness that each dish had to offer. The service was very fast and attentive with filling our waters. Overall a great lunch!

Absolutely blown away. They don't take ressys here so I would recommend coming at an off time if possible because they do get super busy. The mapo tofu was amazing! It was spicy and had the classic numbing flavor you expect from sichuan peppers. The chickpea hand pulled noodles were my favorite part of the meal. The noodles were bouncy and the broth was umami and had a great sesame flavor. My fav restaurant in argyle area by far!

Quite possibly the most perfect winter meal. We ordered Yoo Yee for delivery and I'm happy to report I've discovered my new favorite Chinese take out spot in my neighborhood! The star of the show is the spicy braised beef brisket soup. Tender beef in a yummy, spicy sauce with chewy hand pulled noodles. SO GOOD! The pork wontons and fried string beans came in a close second place. The wontons are served with a sweet/spicy sauce that was so flavorful and the green beans are a very large serving and fried to perfection. The only dish that didn't totally wow me was the lo mein. I would probably pass on this next time around. Everything was packaged super nicely and delivered well. I would love to dine in sometime soon to get the full experience!

I cannot wait to go back! My friend and I met here for early dinner after work. We walked in right when they opened and they told us that there's a 15 to 20 minute- wait because the staff is eating first. We were seated right away while we waited so that's the good part. I wanted everything that I saw on the menu but for this first visit, we tried: Wontons in Chili Oil Sauce, Spicy Braised Beef Brisket Hand Pull Noodle Soup, and the Sweet-Skinned Duck. They were all prepared well, so delicious and flavorful. I will definitely go back to Yoo Yee and try other dishes. The service that we received was very efficient and pleasant. The place is not too big, but we got seated right away because we went there on a weekday at 4pm. 'Til next time :)

Service was really great everyone was super nice and attentive. The hand pulled noodles were delicious, they were so long! Scallion pancakes were also delish and very flaky! The restaurant was bright and very clean.

Happy Lunar New Year! We ordered with our eyes haha. Wow, I'm in lost of words because this is my new favorite restaurant in Chicago! We ordered the pan fried pot stickers, crispy tofu, spicy braised beef brisket hand pulled noodle soup, green beans, and chongqing popcorn chicken. Also ordered Yuzu soda on the side! The potstickers were not my favorite. It was so doughy and I barely got any of the filling. I only got dumplings because of lunar new year so skip the dumplings. The broth for the beef brisket was amazing. I absolutely love Szechuan style food and loved the noodles and the broth. So so so delicious. The green beans are a hit (because you have to get a veggie dish). I really liked the crispy tofu because it was soft in the inside. The popcorn chicken was okay and I thought there would be more flavor. Overall, loved YooYee so much!

Take this review with a grain of salt. Because some in our family cannot eat spicy, we got less spicy less numbing versions of all the dishes. I really want to come back and try the authentic versions of the dishes. I hope that I can raise my rating to a 5/5 next time - I definitely see the potential. Eggplant w Green Pepper / 擂椒茄子 (8/10): The texture of the eggplant was very good. Perfect amount of chew. The sauce was packed with flavor, and there was a nice amount of spice. Fish Filet w Pickled Vegetable / 老坛酸菜鱼 (7/10): I feel like it would have been better if we requested full spice, but it was still pretty good. The fish was tender. The soup was SUPER savory. Chongqing Popcorn Chicken / 辣子鸡 (5/10): This dish was severely lacking in both spice and numbing. That aside, it was still lacking in flavor. The chicken was nicely fried to a crisp, so that was good. Peking Style Shredded Pork / 京酱肉丝 (7/10): Solid dish. Meat flavor was pretty good. Dry Sizzling Pot Cauliflower / 干锅有机花菜 (6/10): Lacking in flavor and spice. Cauliflower texture was pretty good. Sauteed String Beans / 干煸四季豆 (8/10): Texture on the string beans was amazing. Very flavorful. ~DESSERTS~ The desserts were made by another restaurant, but they still deserve mentioning. Milk Custard / 双皮奶 (9/10): I've never had anything like this, but apparently it's very popular in Beijing. It's so good!! Peach Gum and Grass Jelly / 桃胶仙草大满贯 (8/10): This reminds me of a dessert you'd find at Meet Fresh. Also quite good. There's always a huge wait so try to come during off hours. Service is good despite them being swamped all the time.

Yoo Yee is a welcome sight to the Argyle food scene Since they took over the location, the space is clean, modern, and fresh The soup is exactly what you'd want on a cold day however the 2nd time I came and ordered it was weirdly room temp? The eggplant with garlic is just ok the cold version, eggplant with green pepper is better but the green pepper flavor can be a bit overpowering The crispy pork ribs are my fav and you can eat the garlic crisps on your rice for extra flavor and crunch If you like walnut shrimp, their crispy shrimp is HUGE and very cronchy Service is pretty quick and efficient once you get seated Come during an off hour like linner time during the week to avoid a long wait

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Maybe I ordered wrong? I'd say half the dishes I go were gold and half were almost inedible. Nothing blew me away though. Pork Ribs with crispy garlic was just terrible. Pot stickers were very average and the sauce they came with was bad. Cucumber salad super tasty. Scallion Pancake - just greasy as hell Chicken Spring Roll - tasty Fish Fillet with Green Peppercorn Soup - good and tongue numbing Stir Fry Lamb Chops - weird flavors, pass Mongolian Beef - average Not worth the wait in my opinion. Maybe I'll try it again at some point and order more noodle dishes. That seems to be what a lot of people love there.

The food is always great here and one of my favorite spots in Chicago that I will always suggest to folks who visit. 10/10: scallion pancake - light and crispy 9/10: braised beef hand pulled noodles - noodles are delicious! -1 bc I'm not a braised beef person haha 9/10: popcorn chicken - love the spice 9/10: pork belly with garlic sauce - I'm typically not a pork belly person but it surprised me! The service is always quick and superb. Restaurant and bathroom is always nice and clean! It can get busy so plan to be on a waitlist!

Yummmmmm. Was looking for someplace to try authentic Chinese food, and this came up several times. Well worth a visit! Went on a Saturday night and SO crowded but put name down and love that you can wander out and they'll text you. Went to Mao bar a few doors down for a drink. (More on that later) Service was fantastic and food just came out as it was ready. LOVED that because there was just a constant stream of food hitting the table. We ordered way too much for six people(like no one needed THREE orders of pot stickers :) However with a few teas and dessert and more food than three people could possibly eat only came to 300. So cheap for all the food, leftovers!! One of my absolute favorite was the shrimp and fries. The coconut shrimp was SO good paired with the crispy fried straws! The sesame noodles were excellent, as well as the Chongqing popcorn chicken. LOVED it. We ordered a few different noodles, all were amazing. Ordered some kind of fried dumpling type thing that I was hoping was baozi, but it was closer to a French beignet and SO delicious!! Cucumber salad? So good. Wontons. So good. Nothing was disappointing at ALL. The peach and lychee ice cream was a STELLAR way to end the meal.

We were able to make it in person and just barely got a table. We tried: - Clay Pot Vegetables in Fermented Tofu Sauce - Chongqing Popcorn Chicken - Sliced Beef Tongue w/Chili Oil Soup - Sweet Skinned Duck If it's your first time here or first time trying more authentic Chinese food, order something you've never heard of. You most likely won't go wrong!

Got the Original Braised Beef Brisket Hand Pull Noodle Soup at Yoo Yee and it was perfect for a cold day! The hand-pulled noodles had great texture and the broth was flavorful. I appreciated having a non-spicy option that still delivered on taste. The beef brisket was a bit fatty, so I had to discard a decent amount, but overall the flavors were good. The wait was long but worth it. They have a waitlist system where you sign in and they call you when your table is ready. We had lots of fun with the accordion-style menus too. Solid spot for authentic hand-pulled noodles!

We walked into a casual and modern space that works well for stopping by after a meal or meeting up with friends for something sweet. The interior is bright and clean, with a relaxed energy that makes it easy to settle in for a dessert without feeling rushed. The menu has a wide range of options, from shaved ice and mango sago to cakes and other fruit desserts, making it easy to find something depending on your mood. The mango mille crepe cake is one of the highlights and a great representation of what the shop does well. We ordered a slice and found the cake made with thin layers of crepe stacked together with cream and fresh mango, creating a texture that feels light while still being satisfying. The layers are soft and delicate, and the mango adds a bright fruitiness that keeps the dessert from feeling overly heavy or too sweet. The balance between the creamy layers and the fresh mango flavor made it feel more refreshing than a traditional cake, especially with the mango being ripe and fragrant. It was also one of the better choices for sharing, as the slice was generous enough to pass around the table. Beyond the mille crepe cake, the menu has plenty of variety with options like mango shaved ice, mango sticky rice, and fruit-based drinks. We appreciated that the desserts are presented carefully, making the experience feel more like a sit-down dessert stop rather than just grabbing something quick. The shaved ice was light and fluffy, with a good amount of mango and toppings that added texture without overwhelming the base. The fruit-based drinks were also refreshing and served as a nice palate cleanser between the richer desserts. The shop can get busy, especially after dinner hours, but the line usually moves along at a steady pace. The staff handled the flow efficiently, and the turnover was fast enough that even with a small wait, we were seated quickly. The seating area is comfortable, and the energy of the room stays lively without becoming too loud. Mango Mango Dessert is a solid Chinatown dessert destination if you are looking for fruit-forward sweets with a lighter, refreshing style. The mango mille crepe cake is a must-try for first visits and one of the items that best captures the appeal of the menu, offering a dessert that feels both visually appealing and satisfying to eat.

I wish I was able to travel with one of their cheesecakes but they require refrigeration. Anyhow the cheesecake itself was delicious super light, fluffy, and honestly felt like biting into a cloud. I had the salted egg but they had several flavor options that I would've loved to try if slices were available. The texture is what really stands out, and the flavor was unique and interesting in a good way. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it taste like, but it was sweet, but not too sweet They only sale but I consider a personal size but it's definitely enough to share with two people, maybe even three depending on how much of a sweet tooth you have. My only downside like others is the price. Paying around $19-$20 for a small cheesecake felt a bit steep, especially since they don't offer slices. I really wish they had smaller portions available so you could try different flavors without committing to a full cake prize. They package it very well and they also serve you a cute little fork set and a knife for cutting which I think is contributes to the price. The shop itself is very cute with chic décor and a lot of Asian-inspired artwork, which adds to the overall vibe. Customer service was friendly. When I visit Chicago again I'd definitely go back the texture and taste alone make it worth it but I do hope they consider offering smaller portions in the future.
