Went here for the first time today. Establishment was fine, nothing special. Friendly people working there. I like how they make your order right when you order it so it comes out piping hot. The fish was very meaty and the batter wasn't over powering. Liked it. Fries were OK. Fish probably gets a 4 and the fries probably get a 2 and a half. Will most likely be back, but not a must. Doesn't mean anything bad about it though. I'd recommend you try for yourself. read more

I like this place. Should be 3 1/2 stars. They try really hard to be a traditional fish and chips place. The only thing that separates these places is if their batter stands up to the fryer. If there is a hole, there is a greasy soggy mess at your hands. This place does good with that. It is still greasy. Portions are big. Tartar is okay. Malt vinegar is readily available. The sides are very good. This is the best in the area. Should be 3 1/2 as the prices are too high. read more

Some of the best fish and chips in Denver, I can tell they use good quality fish, it has a sweet delicious fresh taste that is delicatley fried to perfection!!! The fried oysters are a must try! It is a little pricey however especially compared to some lame Long John Silvers but there is a huge difference in quality and taste. I was little bummed when they started to charge extra for a side of slaw (the only thang somewhat healthy there). I would probably give them five stars if they served beer there;) read more

I have been going to Yorkshire Fish and Chips for 30 years, take out and dine in. Simple works beautifully, the staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is just mouthwatering and I never leave unhappy. This "dive" has something no other reastaurant has. They NEVER disappoint, they are simply the best there is. This family run business is about pleasing their customers palettes and they come through every time. Have heard about this place FOREVER. Finally ate there last night. Fish was greasy; don't think their fry oil was hot enough. I prefer tartar sauce like the east coast----not sweet but more like aioli mayo---rather than the Miracle Whip with relish added like at the Yorkshire. Clean. Your crew was nice and tolerant of our group of 5. Divey in a good way. Reasonable price for seafood. Offers green beans or cole slaw instead of fries for those that don't do fries. Nice touch. All I can say is WOW! My wife and I have traveled the world seeking out the best fish and chips and by a very large margin Yorkshire has the worst excuse for fish and chips, discusting, dry, over cooked fish and fries, greasy, yucko! 15 mins after gagging this crap down I had the squirts so bad I thought I would die. We drove all the way from Colorado Springs only to have fish and chips of a far lower quality then even Long John Silvers. In short, whoever started the rumor that Yorkshire has the best in Denver, all I can say is the rest must really suck bad! When we were in on Saturday feb 20th 2011 everyone was commenting how over cooked the fries and fish were and at 13$ a wack we felt very ripped off. Heres a Recomendation for the 2 best fish and chips around in Co Springs, Judge Baldwins Downtown on Tejon St. and Tony's also on Tejon St. This is Great food in a great atmosphere and priced the same as Yorkshire with twice the food prepared well on a plate not a cardboard basket too small to put food in. My husband introduced me to this place one evening when I was craving fish. We've been back for a second visit since then. It's $12 for two very large pieces of fish and a basket of fries. Several people have complained about the fries, and I'll admit they are pretty average, but honestly, when you want fish & chips, are you really excited about the fries, or the fish? People, you are after the fish! And it hasn't disappointed at Yorkshire. It's been crunchy on the outside and fresh on the inside. And the tarter has been fresh. My husband and I order a whole order and a half order (3 pieces total) and it's more than enough. And whoever said "for the price, you could go to a nice sit down place and be good to go" is incorrect. Yorkshire is less than $20 for 2 people. A "nice sit-down place" that serves seafood would be no less than $40 (for 2) by the time you add a tip. read more

I have been patronizing Yorkshire since it opened in the 60's. If my guess is correct, it's the 3 generation of the same family operating it now. The fish is top notch - as good or better than any I've had in England, Scotland or Ireland. Years ago when an old friend from Abingdon England visited, Yorkshire was the only place he'd eat fish and chips in the Denver area (his only gripe was "ya can't get a bloomin' pint). My family and I were there this evening, service was quick, the food fresh and and tasty (also the best coleslaw in town). Prices have climbed a bit, but the fish is premium - you still get great fish and at a reasonable price. Like most of the people who've been patrons, we'll keep coming back. So far it's one of the few places where the quality has remained constant over the last 40+ years! read more

Took a chance here after advice from a friend. I was very disappointed. The place is very much a whole in the wall, very tiny parking area. Inside is very minimal w nothing but some booths and a couple tvs on the wall. I was wanting Fish and Chips and ordered the 2 piece w a soda and my Wife got the chicken strips and soda. 23 bucks later we got our food. The fries were extremely dry and had no flavor at all. The fish is presented in an odd way, they look like tiny 4x4 pieces of lumber about 8 inches long. The fish was so so decent battery and the fish itself was ok. Not sure where their tartar sauce comes from but it wasn't pleasant at all. The staff is a very young group of 18 to 23 year old guys ( least on this visit ). Oh and i was extremely disappointed that they don't serve alcohol at all. Nothing but a very small selection of Pepsi products and a fountain machine.... I've never known a fish and Chips place to not sell a good Pint of beer w their food. They do have clam chowder, shrimp and chicken on the menu. The stuff reminds me of an old diner cafe from the 80s. I ate here tonight April 15. Had the combo w mushrooms. The fryer oil had obviously not been changed in awhile. The mushrooms sucked the were so bad I couldn't push the fork into them they flew off of the plate. I left them on the greasy floor. The shrimp - scallops & fish was fair at best. The fries were the best and honestly they weren't that good. I have omitted this from my list. Wish I had gone to the fish n chips joint in Arvada that had five star rating. For twenty five bucks I felt violated. This place is not worth your time and certainly not worth your money. GB fish n chips is ten times better. My advice don't waste your money here. read more

WARNING- STAY AWAY - It is FILTHY! I just got home after eating at this place... WHAT A MISTAKE!!! I am from Australia and I just love fish and chips, but NEVER AGAIN from this place. If you want to eat food from a clean restaurant, avoid the Yorkshire Fish and Chips. Not only is the place dirty, the staff make you feel as though you are interrupting their personal conversations. One staff member was supposed to be cleaning tables, but spent the entire time we were there talking to friends. The prices are higher than what is stated on their web site, so I am glad we had printed off their 10% off coupon, however since prices had generally gone up more than 10% on the website prices, we lost out.
