Fries along with the um...crispies?
Michele B.

First time here on a Friday during Lent... what was I thinking? Ha! We were told the wait would be 25-30 mins for our order, but it turned out to be closer to 35-40 minutes. This was around 5:45. It looks to be mostly a take out place, but there are a few tables. We grabbed one and waited it out. It was pretty good! I'd say the price was high for fried fish and a few sides, but that's what you get in most all types of eating establishments these days. The fries had these strange tiny crispy things underneath that we are still wondering about. The green beans were mushy, and are served with chopped bacon. Since we abstain from meat on Fridays we had to take those home for later. The coleslaw was liquid-y and too sweet. Not deal breakers, but we may skip those options next time and try something different. Back to the fish and fries: crispy, well cooked, and hot. Service was quick and polite. It was busy and crowded and really hot inside, so I commend them on their timing at which they worked to get food out, and their positive attitudes. We would come back again if we are in the area and were craving some simple fried fish.

We have been going here for years now so I think we know the good and bad. Always order the fish and chips and its always a treat. Mustards hotdog fries are better than the chips here, but the fish and chip combo is still a winner. If you call ahead before they open, it seems like they wont start your order until almost opening time, so thats a drag but it is what it is. Will still come back though

Fish and chips were terrific. We also tried the combo with fish, shrimp and scallops but forgot to take a photo. Everything tasted terrific - highly recommend.

My fav fish spot so far in Denver when Im craving fried fish. Its a quaint spot on Pecos with enough seating to please those with some time to sit and eat freshly cooked seafood. The also have shrimp, oysters and more but the fried cod is my fav. The batter is light but firm and the fish fresh and tender. You can ask for salt, malt vinegar and tarter sauce. Orders come with fries and the portions are ample. You can also just get the seafood. If you call ahead you can avoid the 5-7 minute wait to get your to-go order made. Hated to tell you all about it cause it'll get too busy!! LOL The guys there are friendly and efficient.

We stopped on our way back from Water World and this place was amazing. It's a no frills with everything fried kind of place. It seemed on the pricey end but everything was really good. I've never even eaten fried scallops before and they were good. The portions were more than enough and they have a handful of tables but it's all really basic. We don't live anywhere near here but if we passed by again, I would definitely stop

The #1 sign that you're a family of owned business ... the family name and number is posted on a sign, without an area code. The fish is freshly fried, white flakey never frozen and it's huge - 10-12" long. Service is quick and friendly - they take pride in their restaurant. There's plenty of tables if you want to dine in - nothing fancy but everything you need. Right off 270 its convenient and if you want to save 5 min, call ahead for your order.

A rare gem of a fish & chips shop. I drove by a few months ago and checked Google. They are not a chain and have been in business since 1971. This is a bare bones diner. No touristy wall art, just simple tables with wood chairs and a good AC system. I got 2 pieces of fried Icelandic cod with chips (French fries) for $ 19.90; It seemed to be a high price until my order was ready. Two large pieces, about 6 oz each. The fish was not pre-battered because I could see an uneven amount on 1 piece. The fish was hot. They gave me 2 tubs of tartar sauce and malt vinegar was available at the table. Underneath the fish was 12 fries and batter crumbs. I added a cup of clam Chowder and a Mexican Fanta Orange soda. The Chowder was excellent. Equal parts of clams and potatoes with a creamy sauce. It was not oversalted. The Fanta was the true Mexican version, just sugar. No high fructose corn syrup. You order at the counter and Shaun called my ticket number about 10 minutes later. They accept cash and debit/credit cards. Other fish includes shrimp, clams, oysters and scallops. Plenty of sides. They have soft drinks, beers and mini bottles of wine. They also have desserts. You can get family packs of fish & shrimp. So my total was $ 27.35 + tip. A very good deal. Note: They fry in peanut oil.

I've had a lot of fish and chips in my life. This was the best I've ever had. The fish tasted fresh, it was freshly fried and the flavor of the breading was amazing. The fries were a little lackluster though but are really just a side piece anyway. The fries weren't freshly made so that was the only problem. I will be back.

Although the food was good I'm not sure I like the atmosphere. Very dull and from what I witnessed not very clean. Maybe just order to go

Good fried fish and friendly staff. Not much selection and the atmosphere is not so good. Good fried food but greasy fried food.

We've never had that happen and I asked her about it and she said it was at the discretion of the server. I'm not quite sure how this server can have discretion on what somebody can and can't have. What should I expect? Completely unacceptable when brought up to the manager, she did apologize, but Ash was still very rude and saying I decided I was gonna leave and there was no more conversation and to go ahead and leave ans also encourage me to leave a bad review, completely unacceptable and rude.

The waiter had the kitchen split the salad for us. First, the French onion soup was a bowl but it was very good. I like getting the soup at all the restaurants we go to to see how well they are made. This one was very good. The wedge salad was good and it had chunks of blu cheese which I like. My wife had the teriyaki salmon. She said it was very good and would get it again. I had a filet with a lobster tail. The steak was cooked medium rare as I asked for so they did a great job with that and the lobster was good as it's a lobster. Now for the side we got and highly recommend the black truffle Mac & cheese. I don't know how to describe it but it was good. We also got the Parmesan broccolini which was cooked on a grill and was good. To finish the evening we ordered the crème brûlée. It has seasonal fruit that my wife ate and I had the cream dessert. It was much bigger than what I was expecting. Overall this was a great dinner and if I am in Denver again I would come back.

Last visit during lunch was very good and wanted to try for dinner for a last minute celebration…read more Made a reservation using the Open Table which was very easy. I did want to let the restaurant know that it was for a birtday celebration but there was no place to put that info. However, when we checked in at the restaurant, our friendly hostess did ask which was wonderful. Took few moments to get to our table but they were busy setting it up for that special occasion. Our waiter was prompt greeting us and we ordered drinks and bread serivice. Our waiter was very nice but slow due to so many tables he was tending. This restaurant ran little different than the Eddie V's or Merlots. He did have assistance waiter (water person) but things were slow. At other locations, it was someone from the bar who delivered drinks but our waiter was doing that. Also, taking the dirty dishes were mostly handled by the waiter. This slowed down the actual things he should be doing like.. if we needed anything right after the food was delivered, checked on us more frequently..things like that. Overall food was very good, drinks were little bit expensive for the price being charged and slow service. At the end, he relized we were not a happy camper and wrapped up faster. Deffinetely will be back for that special occassion, drink and bread service repeated and may reorder the shellfish cobb salad.
