(My last service was at Jiffy Lube, which, I felt, was over-priced (40% more than here today), and it took forever. I also asked Gary about tire chains as we're heading to Big Bear. Let me add a little detail. Gary is a fantastic guy. He makes me feel that my safety is his primary concern. He always over-delivers. I had a burned out CHMSL bulb that the dealer wanted to charge me $95 per hour to replace. Gary's people did it while I had my car in for brake service! I had a great experience here. I took my car in for 120,000 mile maintenance. I also asked them to take a look at the A/C since I felt it was running louder than usual. My car was in and out within an afternoon and got a full tuneup for a reasonable price. They also let me know they checked out the A/C and it running normally. This is now my second time having my car serviced by Gary and his team, and I couldn't be happier with the service i've received each time. I was recommended here initially (in 2017) by my tow driver after taking my car in for major repairs (water pump, radiator, alternator, and hoses) at a "AAA" recommended facility. After a ton of hassle and thousands spent, I took my car to Yosemite Auto. It has been 50,000 miles since then and my car is running great. Recently (07/2017) my car needed smog but my oxygen sensors were failing. 7/12 Update: So after the owner could not hear any loud noise at all (as per him) I had to take my car to another shop where they could hear the noise the moment they moved the car(so i am not less on hearing for sure), they even said what the issue was and got it fixed right away. My issue turned out to be a different one and merely coincided with the original repair at Yosemite. Even his diagnosis of tire issue was INCORRECT. I was surprised how the new mechanic found the problem immediately. All what this owner had to do was to listen patiently to their customer when i took the car second time instead of flatly denying the loud noise, he could have earned some more business and an ongoing customer, their loss read more

A couple of years ago I tried to take my Oldsmobile to these mechanics for a tuneup and oil change. A nasty and rude guy began giving me excuses and making suggestions that I take my car elsewhere. Today I decided to give them another try and had my Mercedes towed to them by AAA to fix two ball joints. The car had been sitting so we had to jump the car to get it started and the AAA rep informed the mechanic of this. I am Black American woman and the AAA rep was a Black American man which I'm assuming was the reason the mechanic kindly took my Mercedes into their possession with no problem. By the time I got home I received a call from the nasty rude guy and he was angry and shouting at me. I'm not sure what he was upset about because I couldn't understand due to his heavy accent. A few things that I did recognize was that I needed to pay him in cash and they don't work on Mercedes and that my car needed body work other repairs and a new battery. I asked him if he could just jump the battery fix my ball joints and return my car to me and that really upset him. He became enraged and began yelling even more and he asked me to come and pick up my car. I haven't been yelled at like that since I lived at home with my parents. It was very confusing and upsetting since the only thing I did was drop my car off. read more

A few months ago, I had taken my Lexus there to get a repair on my headlights. I was very happy with the service by Gary and the team. A couple of months ago, I brought another car in for a diagnosis for a check engine light and a basic oil and cabin filter change and I have to say that I was not pleased with my last experience which is a shame because I thought I had discover a new gem in Simi for a mechanic. They found no issues with the check engine light, which is fine if the issue could not be replicated at the shop. However, we brought the car home and the light came back on the next day so I called Gary back to let him know what had happened. He was less than pleasant in telling me that he said he guaranteed nothing when I had brought the car in for the diagnosis. I just thought he could have been more professional. The kicker that made this visit even worst is the car started leaking oil, and mind you, this car is 5 years old. We had to bring it to the dealer, and the informed us that the drain plug was stripped from the last oil change and thus, causing it to drop oil. Needless to say, I'm so disappointed with this shop as I had such a good first experience, and then the opposite experience the second, and last time around. Too bad too because we have five cars in our family and I have a huge extended family in Simi that I was going to recommend this shop to, guess that will not happen now due to this negative experience. read more

Hands down the best mechanic I have ever done business with. Thankfully the shop is right across the street from me. They always do great work and don't screw you over with ridiculous up-sells. I am always given a fair price. I've had 2 cars serviced by Gary. First was my Cadi. I needed new shocks badly after he took a look he told me the cost for parts alone would be double what the car was even worth. The car also had a tapping noise. He didn't bull$@*& me and said that it would be in my best interest to get a new car especially with the tapping. Most mechanics would have just charged me the work and then I would be out $4 grand and in search of a new car on top of that shortly after. So I did what he said and got a new used car. Above and beyond. I took my car to this place after four mechanics couldn't figure out why it wasn't passing SMOG. After talking to yet another SMOG place I was told that the guy named Gary was the type of person who would methodically work through a problem to solve it. They were right - he found it! Within 24 hours I was informed that the problem was identified but that the unfortunate issue was that the part was no longer made and that they would need to try a salvage yard. He asked for my authorization to do so, I consented, and they went to work. They worked their way down the state and ended up sending one of their guys to FONTANA (1.5 hours away!) to pull the part out of a car down there, bring it back, and get it installed. Not only that but I'd left the SMOG retest certificate in the car and they then took it there free of charge and got it retested and cleared by the state to stay on the road so that I could be done with the whole ordeal. I was blown away by the consideration this showed to my time. They even offered to pick me up and drop me off at home. I really valued the individual attention and courtesy that this shop gave me; they treated me more like a valued hotel guest than just a car owner. Great job. read more
