My friend and I went on Saturday 2/26 since I saw a Facebook Ad for their grand opening. We arrived around 12:30 PM and we were shocked how nice looking and clean from walking in. The hostess told us that it would be a 30 min wait and we put down a name/number so we decided to walk around Willow Lawn. Luckily we did a get a call back around 1:10 PM and we were seated. Since we figured it would be a long wait based off of how many people were inside and our server didn't take our order 10-15 min after we were seated, we decided to order as much as we could at first. We ordered a miso soup, edamame, house salad, shrimp shumai, crispy calamari, golden salmon and tuna tataki for appetizers. For sushi, we ordered tuna, salmon, yellotail, and eel. For rolls, we ordered eel avocado roll, hawaii salmon, dinosaur. (another shrimp tempura roll was orders but I can't remember the name). We also got drinks (Mojito and Lychee Martini) to get the second person 50% off. We got appetizers about 10 min after putting in our order first with the salad and miso soups. Then we got our fried appetizers and tuna tataki. We both got separate orders for shrimp shumai and crispy calamari. When my friend took her first bite for the calamari, hers was a bit cold but mine was hot. Then when I took my first bite for shrimp shumai, mine was cold and her was warm. Despite the wait, we got some enjoyment by laughing about how the opposite orders were cold. Tuna tataki was good! Our first time getting it: the vinegar or sesame oil was a bit strong, it came out with four pieces of tuna but it was on top of spring mix. However the second time we got it, we got eight pieces and there wasn't the spring mix. Golden Salmon was cucumber and radish wrapped with salmon and some sauce, but only two pieces. Eating the fish appetizers gave me some hope because the quality of the fish was actually really good. While we were eating our appetizers, our waiter asked if we saw the table across from us leave. Unfortunately the table left without paying and they ate about $100 worth of food. We felt bad for that management was taken advantage of since they were short staffed. There was only one waiter for our side of the restaurant (probably taking care of 10+ tables) so if there was a another waitress/waiter, that could've been avoided. Our waiter told us 2-3 times that are sushi was still being made. I had my back facing the kitchen so I didn't see who was making our sushi. But my friend noticed that there was only one person making sushi. We overheard some side conversations; one table asked if they could pay discounted price since they haven't gotten their sushi after awhile. Then my friend started noticing 1-2 people join the sushi making/rolling station. We finally got our sushi and rolls around 2:00 PM. Tried the sushi first and the fish tasted pretty good! Salmon was fatty and it was a good fish:rice ratio. Good size eel on the rice for sushi. Also impressed with how good the avocado for our rolls; not too unripe and not too overripe. Shrimp tempura was also good and surprised with the size; most shrimp tempura at other AYCE places is all panko and not enough shrimp. When we finished and waited on our server to get our check, we overheard another side conversation how these friends wanted to take their food to go because of how long the wait and it was the friend's birthday. Because of language barrier, there was a miscommunication that the manager stepped in to help. We got our check around 2:30 PM but it came out to about $60 and we asked the waiter about the bill because we got two drinks we should be getting 50% off. He told us to wait for him to ask the manager. So then it came out to about $40-$50. We didn't leave until 3:00 PM. I wish I could give them a 4-star and a little bit more for tip, but while we were waiting on the sushi and the waiter updating us on that, he asked what's wrong with my lip? and pointed to his mouth (he had a mask covering it). I understand that he could've been concerned that I might have gotten an allergic reaction from the food. But it just made me more self-conscious about my eczema. My friend helped me laugh it off because the way it was approached. Based on JUST THE FOOD, I think it's worth $21.99 because the quality of the fish was great and also good fish;rice ratio. Based off the ENTIRE experience, the price isn't worth the wait. I wouldn't mind giving them another chance and eating there again because I hope management will learn from their mistakes. My friends and I were in the mood for AYCE sushi and were happy to find this spot on Google! After a one hour drive we were super hungry and we're seated right away. All of us got drinks quickly and ordered quickly as well. Every roll had a pretty good rice fish ratio especially for an all you can eat joint. I ordered two rolls (Godzilla and red dragon) and two nigiris to start off with and ended up getting a miso soup, cucumber salad, calamari, and kani hand roll for the rest of my meal. I really enjoyed the two specialty rolls because they were light and gave me a lot of room to eat more! Personally I would recommend the non-fried rolls because some of the yoshi rolls that my friends ordered had a lot of batter so they felt super heavy and didn't let them enjoy more of the menu. I gave this place a benefit of the doubt as a lot of the reviews I saw was when the place just opened. I came in on a Monday evening a couple of weeks after the grand opening thinking the wait died down. It was a slow Monday with a few of the tables filled so I had my hopes up. Unfortunately it took over 20 minutes for a server to come by asking for drinks while the table behind was consistent getting the attention of another staff getting and ordering food. Even the table across had faster service prepping the table for an incoming group that a person came in for. We had a group of four and there was two chopsticks and soy sauce holders. There was even ample staff for the over five groups of guests that was there. For the food, it was decent but it isn't worth the wait. Almost walked out because of how ridiculous it was waiting for the sever to come by prior to getting the order of drinks. I loved Yoshi sushi! Came in around 6:00 pm on a Friday evening and there was no wait. Was greeted immediately and ushered to a table by the bar. Here's the run down: Atmosphere: The restaurant is spacious and clean. They do still serve seafood so there was a nautical theme. She checked in one me an appropriate amount of times and always asked if I wanted to order more from their AYCE sushi menu Food: The dinner price for an adult for AYCE sushi is $24.99, a bit more expensive than Sushi king but we'll worth the price as the fish is much fresher. There are less specialty rolls compared to sushi king but the food arrived faster and was fresher. I ordered the Yoshi roll (so delicious) and the Ichiban roll. I went to see how it was compared to Sushi King. There are two ways of ordering. One is a la carte and the other is all you can eat. The price is similar to sushi King for all you can eat. The interior decoration is pretty nice with neon colors. There is an addition a bar. The menu is similar to Sushi King but with a little more variety. The taste is good but there may be a little too much rice. I didn't see low sodium soy sauce for those like them. The food came out pretty quick for the amount I ordered, but I came when the restaurant wasn't busy. The service is good. He was nice and attentive. The bathroom is clean and spacious. The urinal may be low for those who are tall. Overall, I've had a positive experience here. I may be back for the weekend or dinner menu. read more

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I made a reservation days in advance, showed up early, made them a list of my order. It took an hour to get a water and then another hour for soup and an order of hibachi to come out. No sushi after 2 hours. We didn't even have a designated server! I was hoping for a better sushi king after seeing pictures of the sushi but I never even got to try any. Definitely will not return. I would just like to say that I second everything that the previous customer wrote @Mandy T's review. Again I understand restaurants being short staffed due to covid, but there's no excuse for why the hostess was so disorganized. We arrived around 5:53pm and wasn't sat until 7pm. We were told that it would be around a 20-30 minute wait, left them our phone number for a call back and NEVER got called back. We came back around 6:20 to get an update on how long the wait was going to be. We were told another 30 minutes. At this point we went to our car to wait due to the enormous crown that was waiting in the front. Since I could see the line from my car, I decided to wait until the line died down around 7pm. I walked inside and there were still 2 parties in front of me. I'm not sure what the hostess said to the first party, but they left immediately and the second party followed close behind. I finally got to talk to the hostess and ask for an updated wait time and she proceeded to tell me that she meant to call us (God knows when), but she neglected to because there was such a long line out front. So she decided to sit whoever was in line at that time at OUR table. I'm not sure how many parties were sat before I decided to come back in that door, but we NEVER GOT A CALL. Since we got sat at 7pm, finished ordering around 7:10 and finally got waters around 7:30pm after we asked. I sat there and watched others get food and app orders and the sushi bar stack up with orders that are ready to go out, before we could even get waters. I waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to get sat. 30 minutes to get water 20 minutes to get the table wiped/cleaned (after we were told that it was wet from being wiped) And who knows how long to get our food orders. Still can't find a manager to talk to, after reading the other reviews, I don't even know if it's even worth the trouble. Update: it's currently 7:45 and we finally got our apps. Time to feast! ...finally. We got our sushi around 8:40ish and finished around 9pm and finally left. Also, if you plan on eating AYCE and want that buy one, get one 50% off, make sure you tell your serve ahead of time and order two drinks that aren't water. Took a friend for lunch on Saturday (went earlier in the week for the $16 all inclusive lunch). Walked in & asked hostess if we were in time for the lunch special & she said YES! Was great. Miso, salmon, Cali rolls, rock and roll, dinosaur - all delicious. But SURPRISE when bill came. It was $24 because the $16 version is only on certain days. They got us. Lunch today had promise, but our server... the first day on the job. I would suggest having new servers shadow an experienced server before turning them loose. We arrived around 1pm and were promptly seated, the place was pretty empty. Nice decor, clean (except for graffiti in the men's bathroom) and plenty of room. We found out later that the host neglected to tell our server she had a table in her area - she was working two other tables in our section. We ordered drinks and apps upon her belated arrival. Long story short... 25mins until we received our first app (we almost walked out) - was supposed to be a shrimp tempura roll, we rec'd shrimp tempura and sent it back. Next our server came to ask how we wanted our 12 steamed oysters... raw, med or well done. We were confused by this question, both the number and how to steam them. After that, the manager(?) came by to confirm we wanted 12 steamed oysters, NO, for the third time we want 6. We then rec'd our cheese stuffed fried wontons... without app plates. They were crispy on the tips but very gummy on the bottoms, flavor excellent, sauce excellent. My husband rec'd his excellent white tuna sushi. Next, I rec'd my soup, excellent broth, well balanced with shrooms and scallions. No salad. No tempura role. Oysters arrived with the garlic butter sauce, we hand no silverware and it was impossible to remove the virtually RAW oysters from the shell with chopsticks so I had to go to the server station to get silverware. (Not an oyster person, but I assume that steamed has only one cook... done but not over-cooked.) After a bit, my hibachi chicken veggies and fried rice arrive. The veggies were not well done as I requested, they were still crisp. The flavor of the dish was spot on, the chicken cooked to tender. When the dish was served, I requested that they remove the salad and tempura roll from the check, my husband had eaten his meal and mine had just arrived... we did not need the appetizers. About a minute later the manager dropped off the tempura roll and a few mins later brought two salads (we only ordered one, but he was trying to make it better). He did not charge us for the two salads or the tempura roll, we boxed them to take home. Once home we tasted the salads: the salad dressing was as thin as water but the taste was exactly what you want in a delish ginger dressing, a little too heavy on chunky iceberg lettuce with exactly two shreds of carrot in one bowl and one in the other bowl. The manager did his very best to make it right. The flavors ARE there. The portions are great. They are just opening and need a little time to work out the kinks. We will give them another try in a month or so. They also offer an all you can eat option (with very reasonable rules), kid options and several "American-like dishes" (think fries/wings) - but the menu is not too crazy, just wide enough to cover the area in which they serve. There should be something for everyone.... important point, this is NOT a buffet, thankfully. read more

Went for lunch and it was really good. The place was clean and the food kept on coming. Really like the hand rolls. Sashimi too was very good even escolar (white tuna)!! All the rolls were good and the hibachi was excellent. Also had soup, salad and veggie and shrimp tempura. All for $15.99! Great deal for a good lunch. And i am very picky about my sushi and I can't wait to go eat here again. Not sure all the earlier negative reviews maybe it was when they first opened and they were still in early growing pains.
