At the end of the meal, they offered to help pack our leftover food along with sauce, superior service. Food 5/5 -Deep fried salted pig feet, this is a MUST get. I cannot emphasize enough how well executed this dish was, the pig feet came deboned. Skin was thin, crispy but still had a delicate layer of gelatinous fat under that's so addicting and great pairing with the complimentary pot of white rice. The meat was so tender and flavorful, the seasoning is not overwhelming but tasteful enough that keeps you wanting to go back for more. Great portion for sharing, however you may not want to share and just keep it all for yourself. -Salted fish and garlic chicken fried rice, rice was fragrant with the delicate saltiness from the dry aged salted fish. The dish is a combination of fine bits and pieces of fish, chicken and notable amount of ginger. I'm usually not a fan of ginger but I actually liked it for this dish, brought a comfortable level of sharpness to it. But if you really hate ginger, you might want to avoid as they're really fine pieces and would be impossible to avoid. -Sliced beef with Chinese broccoli, beef was tender and full of the wok flame flavor, vegetables were fresh and crunchy, no notes. Ambiance 5/5 -Restaurant was super quiet, I really liked how calm it was in there. Mostly comfortable booths around the perimeter and tables were all separated by clear dividers. I've been wanting to try this place for quite a while, and we finally made it there for dinner. Someone had recommended coming for lunch, but unfortunately we didn't make it for lunch. Let's start with the lobster. They have about 45 different ways you can have it prepared. We went with the traditional style without the noodles. We just couldn't justify paying another $20 for noodles, and honestly, I don't think we missed much. The lobster had plenty of flavor, but compared with other Vietnamese lobster restaurants I've tried, it wasn't nearly as flavorful as I expected. Considering we paid around $180-$200 for the lobster alone, that was a bit disappointing. We also ordered the Vietnamese-style fish with black pepper. The fish was good, but again, not as good as other Vietnamese restaurants we've been to. We wanted to try the pea shoots, but they told us they were seasonal, so we ordered the garlic string beans instead. They were good and nicely garlicky, but nothing that made me say, "Wow!" The standout for me was the French-style filet mignon. It was cooked almost medium-rare, with lots of onions, and the flavor was really good. That dish came closest to earning five stars for me, although the portion was smaller than I expected. Our total bill was around $380, so for that price, I was expecting something much more exceptional. Service was fine. They changed our plates and took care of the little details, and luckily it wasn't very busy when we went. I've seen pictures of lines out the door, so I honestly don't know if we caught it on an off night or what the hype is about. Was it bad? No. Was it good? Yes. Was it wonderful or better than the other Vietnamese lobster restaurants I've tried? Unfortunately, no. I'm glad we finally tried it because I had been curious for a long time, but would I come back? Most likely not. For all the hype and the price, I was expecting a lot more. After not going here for about a year, we ended up eating here twice in two weeks. I had started a review after the first visit, and it wasn't going to be a great one, but the second visit redeemed themselves a bit, so I'll go with that experience. First, my favorite thing about this place is how proactive they are about refilling your iced tea. Love it. Their food is really good. They have some dishes that others in their category (e.g., Kim Tar, Newport, Boston Lobster) don't have, and most everything we've eaten was pretty good. It doesn't take long for the food to come out, though they are stingier than you'd expect when it comes to the amount of white rice given. Of the unique offerings, my kids' favorite is probably the bubble waffles, which they give out complimentary at the end of the meal. The weird thing though is between the two visits, I learned they give the same amount -- one -- whether the dining group has 6 people or 12 people. Stingy. Price-wise, they are definitely at the top end of their category. I don't think it's close to being worth it especially given the quality of their competition, but to each his own I guess. My aunt wanted to treat us to some seafood so we decided to come to Henry's cuisine. We ordered: - Deep-Fried Tofu - Crispy Walnut Shrimp - Deep-Fried Chicken Wings - Chinese Broccoli with Dried Fish - Deep-Fried Salted Pig Knuckles - House Special Vietnamese Style Lobster with Noodles Everything was really good, especially the House Special Vietnamese Style Lobster with Noodles and Deep-Fried Salted Pig Knuckles. We also really like the fried tofu and the chicken wings. We really appreciate the fact that the crispy walnut shrimp had the mayonnaise sauce on the side so we were able to control the sweetness. We also like the Chinese broccoli. We also appreciated that they gave us Hong Kong Egg Waffle on the house. Just remember that they do have a 12% service charge. That's already added to your tab. Came by for dinner the other night and it was a decent experience. Made a reservation for dinner and our table was ready upon arrival. Reservations are best as the restaurant was full upon arrival. Parking was available in the private lot with a security guard or on the nearby streets. Henry's Cuisine is featured in the Michelin guide. The vibe of the restaurant was typical of a Vietnamese Chinese restaurant. It was bright inside and tables were mostly separated with tacky table dividers... The ordering process was unique. Chilean sea bass was sold out and we were told that pea shoots were not in season, despite seeing them at the grocery store next door... Started off with the signature lobster noodles. The staff brought out a lobster and claimed that it was 4.1 lbs. Lobster was priced at $40/lb. Noodles were a $20 surcharge. The lobster dish was gigantic and perfect for sharing. Flavoring was good and the e-fu noodles were decent. Portions were generous too. The seafood soup was okay, it felt more like an instant soup vs the traditional soups that were made overnight. The ong choy with beancurd was a gigantic portion and well stir-fried. The Vietnamese style filet mignon was tasty. Beef was tender, fragrant, and flavorful. Service by the staff was good. I wish yelp had half stars because I'd give Henry's cuisine a solid 3.5 stars. The restaurant layout and decor is a little tacky, with spray painted crab shells decorating the walls and plastic partitions between the tables. The partitions reminded me a lot of Covid times, but it did create this semi intimate space for each table to have better conversation with each other. We came with 5 people and ordered 4 dishes to share. The average of each dish was about 30 dollars but the portions are extremely generous. The fish maw, shrimp paste, dried shrimp, mustard greens hot pot came out first. They were out of fish maw and wouldn't replace the ingredient with anything else or give us a discount, so we just had shrimp and greens in the soup. The soup had a good balance of fish and seafood flavours and went well with the slightly bitter mustard greens. The fried black tiger prawn with dried fish and garlic came next alongside the dried scallop and egg white fried rice. The prawns were such a visually stunning dish and the aroma was incredible! The prawns were huge, slightly juicy and packed a ton of flavour, it paired well with the egg white fried rice. The chestnut chicken hotpot came out last. It was a nice, hearty, umami dish. The chestnut and green onions melted in your mouth, which was great, but the chicken itself was a little dry and had lots of bones in it. Overall everything was well cooked and tasty, but nothing was a particular standout. It just felt a bit expensive for what you get. Lobster was $40/lb and minimum of 4lbs so we didn't try it, but it looked great from peeking at other tables. Henry's Cuisine is technically a Cantonese restaurant, but there are many dishes on the menu which are a fusion of Cantonese Chinese and Vietnamese cooking styles. We had a family get-together and were able to order a variety of dishes. Our table ordered chestnut and chicken in a clay pot, bean curd in brown sauce, water spinach with spicy beans, Vietnamese-style deep-fried fish, sautéed clams with black bean, and the House Special Vietnamese-style sautéed lobster with braised soft noodles. The first five dishes were delivered quickly, giving us time to enjoy them before the lobster and noodles arrived. I think the lobster came last because of the prep time--and because it was the meal's grand finale. When you order as many dishes as we did, it wouldn't be unusual to prefer some items over others. Henry's has a very odd look to it. The exterior of the building reminds me of the tin man from the wizard of oz and the theme continues inside as well. I wonder if this was popular when the restaurant first opened but I just smh when being in there. Despite the decor, the food is surprisingly delicious. This spot is one of those restaurants that feel like in order to truly experience this place for all it has to offer, it is better to go with at least a group of four or more and order dishes to be shared family style. I'm sure you can find something for yourself or order a couple of items if you're going with one other person or a small group as well. Made a reservation for a group of friends that meet up for a meal from time to time and this restaurant is perfect for that dynamic. When we got there, I checked and and we were seated right away. It's not often I get to go to these full service banquet style Asian (mostly Chinese) restaurants but I miss going to them as a kid with my family. The service from the folks who sat us and the ladies taking our order was great from the beginning. So friendly! For myself, I got some milk tea to wash down all the delicious food we ordered. Although we didn't do any of the specials that required ordering a day or two in advance (the braised morel and chicken soup or the winter melon soup), I think we ordered really well! As a group, we ordered: -Sauteed water spinach with spicy bean (needed some veggies) -Cantonese style mapo tofu (classic) -Spicy salt shrimp -Chestnut and chicken in clay pot -Lamb and bean curd hot pot (soup) -House special Vietnamese style lobster (more than 5 lbs), with added noodles I thought everything was tasty and just having a variety like that in a sizeable group makes this type of dining experience such a delight. Food here is delicious!! We ordered the Vietnamese style lobster with vermicilli, veggies, crispy shrimp, drunken chicken, and shaken beef with snap peas and mushroom. All were delicious however of course the lobster is the highlight of the meal, especially with the vermicilli. The crispy shrimp is a runner up, it's so crispy you can even eat the shell! This is my second time at this restaurant. I had the lobster the last time I dined here. This time, we did not order the lobster. We ordered from the lunch menu. We had a group of 6 people. We had the following: 1) honey walnut shrimp: (4/5) Shrimp was fresh and good sized. It was fried to golden brown served with honeyed walnut. The sauce was served separately on the side. It was my first time having Honey walnut shrimp with sauce not mixed in. In my opinion, a good honey walnut shrimp dish would have the right amount of sauce tossed in with a lightly fried shrimp and toasted honey walnut. This dish is not what I expected or accustomed to. Nevertheless it was not bad. 2) Orange Beef: (2/5) beef was too dry. I felt like I was eating beef jerky. Flavor was okay. It tasted sweet and a little bit spicy. 3) Fish with black bean sauce (4/5). Fish tasted fresh and flavor was good. 4) Lotus root vegetables stir fry (4/5). Nice combination of lotus root, sweet peas, woods ear and carrots stir fry. 5) Drunken chicken (3/5). Moist chicken but not enough wine taste. Not a bad dish. 6) seafood chow mein (3/5). Average tasting chow mein. Not enough variety of seafood. I see very few shrimps. It is mostly fish in this chow mein dish. We wanted to have tea but found out that the tea is served with tea bags. For a "nice" Chinese restaurant, I expected it to serve good "loose leaf" real tea, not tea bags. We were disappointed to learn they use tea bags. Service was just okay. We got served but waiter wasn't friendly or anything. My group had arrived a couple of minutes after opening and already there was a lot of people. The tables filled up quickly. Having just eaten their food where I feel is just average or above average on most dishes, I wonder why it is so popular. With their prices being 20% to 40% higher than surrounding restaurants for lunch specials, they need to up their game. One thing I liked best about this place is the dividers between the tables. There's plenty of options for Cantonese seafood restaurants in The San Gabriel Valley, but Henry's Cuisine has earned its reputation as one of the area's longtime standouts. After a recent lunch visit, it's easy to see why this place has developed such a strong reputation in the SGV. Since there were only two of us for lunch, we didn't get a chance to order many of the larger seafood dishes that Henry's is known for. But even with a relatively small order, everything we tried was excellent. My favorite dish was the Shrimp with Vermicelli. The vermicelli soaked up all of the savory seafood flavors from the shrimp, garlic, and aromatics while still maintaining a great texture. The Singapore Style Fried Vermicelli was excellent as well. The noodles had a nice curry flavor that added plenty of aroma without overpowering the dish. Between the two noodle dishes, I honestly can't decide which one I'd reorder first. What I appreciated most about Henry's is that it feels like a restaurant that's focused on the food rather than trends. The dining room has the feel of a classic Cantonese seafood restaurant, and the menu is filled with dishes that have clearly earned loyal followings over the years. Even though we only sampled a small portion of the menu, everything we ordered was delicious and left me wanting to come back with a bigger group to explore more of what Henry's is known for. June 1st 2026 I had a great experience here. This is the second time I've dined here, but the husban had dined here multiple times (when they were based on West Covina area). OBVIOULSY, I and was pleasantly surprised by how well everything was prepared. The drinks were excellent...especially the Iced Tea and Hong Kong Coffee Milk Tea. I really appreciated that neither drink was overly sweet, allowing the tea and coffee flavors to shine through. One detail that stood out was how thoughtfully the food was served because the sauce for the fish and walnut shrimp was kept separate instead of being poured over the dishes. This helped maintain the texture and prevented everything from getting soggy before it reached the table. The pork we ordered was tender, flavorful, and most importantly, not greasy or overly salted. The skin wasn't hard ans overly crunchy. The crunch was light. My favorite dish of the meal was the string beans with ground meat. The beans were cooked just right with plenty of flavor, making it the standout dish for me. The staff were also wonderful throughout the meal. We decided to stop by Henry's since my parent mention they prefer this place over the other true ! My oh my the lobster was delicious live the idea they bring out the live lobster to show us before they cook it ! It's slightly glazed sweet with so much umami not overly oily ! I know Henry's Cuisine has a strong following and plenty of glowing reviews, so this is simply my personal experience after two visits. My first dinner here was actually quite positive. I came with a large group of 7 adults and 4 kids on a very busy night, with a crowd waiting outside the restaurant. Despite how packed it was, service moved steadily and dishes came out in a timely manner. Most of the food felt very homey -- the kind of comforting dishes that reminded me of meals my grandmother used to make. That first visit was pleasant enough that I decided to bring my dad back specifically to try their signature Vietnamese lobster dish. Unfortunately, the second visit turned out to be disappointing. We intentionally came for lunch to avoid the dinner rush and were seated within 5 minutes. The restaurant was only about 75% occupied. Drinks arrived quickly, and we ordered salt and pepper tiger shrimp, green beans, and the house special lobster with an extra order of e-mein noodles on the side. Our server briefly returned with a live lobster in a metal bowl, mumbled "4 pounds," and walked away. A few minutes later, the shrimp and green beans arrived along with rice. We ate, waited, and continued waiting. By the time we had completely finished the two dishes -- probably about 25 minutes later -- nobody had checked on us, updated us about the lobster dish, or even acknowledged the delay. We finally flagged down another staff member and asked for the check because at that point the lobster still had not arrived and we were ready to leave. We asked if the lobster could simply be removed from the bill, but were told it was already being prepared. Ironically, the lobster dish finally appeared moments later, the e-mein noodle followed a few minutes later. For what is marketed as their signature dish, the lobster itself was honestly not very memorable. The preparation with green onion and basil was interesting since it was our first time trying lobster this way, but neither the flavor nor the presentation justified the long wait (if that's what it was or just an oversight in the kitchen) or elevated expectations. What stood out more than the food was the lack of service and communication. Delays happen, especially at busy restaurants, but a quick check-in or update would have made a big difference. The restaurant also automatically adds a 12% service charge to the bill. While automatic gratuities are becoming more common, and in this case, I even added extra just to bring the tip up to 15%. With that expectation, there should also be a basic level of attentiveness and customer service. Overall, the food and service felt comparable to a typical Chinese comfort-food restaurant like Sam Woo, satisfying enough for a casual meal, but not particularly memorable considering the Michelin Guide recognition and pricing. Personally, the experience did not justify a return visit. I'd rather go to places like Lunasia or Kim Tar Seafood, where the overall experience feels more polished and consistent with the price point. read more

Because once seated at the table, I spotted a staff member showing a live crab so big and rugged looking it could have been part of a prehistoric lineup. We whetted our appetite with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, and then the food started coming out. It was a veritable feast. One that put some of the wedding banquets I've attended to shame. I've heard and read good reviews on Henry so I wanted to find out what all the hype was about. Many highly hyped establishments often don't live up to their reputation. Henry's Cuisine, unfortunately, was no exception. Went there early evening on Chinese new year. Waited for 30 minutes for our table then 20 minutes for menu and have our orders taken. It was another 30 minutes before our first dish was served. Apparently, slowness is such an issue that there are many small posters thru out the dining room asking the patrons to be patient. As for our dishes, they were disappointing. The house special lobster was really just meh. There wasn't much flavor other than the scallions. It also dint have any of the roes shown in the photos. Boston Lobster or Newport Seafood are way better. The other dishes were all pretty bland as well. The prawns with glass noodles was ok. The best thing was the feee egg waffle dessert. read more

HUGE lobsters? Count me in. My family and I came to Henry's for early LNY dinner on Saturday and it was packed. Luckily, we called them ahead of time to let them know that we're a party of 8 and will need a large table. Parking wasn't too difficult to find here. They have a pretty big lot that they share with a bank but if it's the weekend, you can park in the bank reserved spots. The entrance looks very grand! The doors are very nicely decorated but when you walk in, it's usually really crowded with families waiting for their tables. My family ordered lots of delicious dishes! We definitely opted for the lobster with noodles added. You can choose your choice of noodles and since they didn't offer the vermicelli bowl during their busier nights, we added a vermicelli noodle under the lobster. They let you know what sizes they have available and actually bring out the lobster to show you how big and meaty it is. One of my favorite dishes has to be the Vietnam Style Deep Fried Fish. It's super unique to other places I've had. When it comes out, it's super crispy but also sauced. The sauce has black pepper sprinkled on and it adds a nice pop of spiciness to it. All the dishes we ordered are all photographed. There hasn't been a time where I've been disappointed after eating from here. They have an overwhelmingly large menu of Cantonese, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes. We did not have a single miss in our two visits! Their beef is delightfully tender, shrimp was so juicy, and portions were quite large with lots of veggies alongside the proteins! While the lobster is market price, it's 100% worth it -- so fresh and sweet; add noodles to soak up every last bit of the buttery sweet goodness. Finally got to try this place for my aunt's birthday dinner and I see why people like coming here. Aesthetics is much more pleasing and modern compared to all the other Asian family style restaurants near by. Crispy Walnut Shrimp - batter was light, fluffy and crispy. I liked that the mayo spread/sauce came on the side and you can dip as much or little to your liking. Vietnamese Style Deep Fried Fish w/ Basil & Black Pepper -best fried fish flavor combo I've had. Batter on fish wasn't too heavy, light and crispy. Will be ordering this again next time I'm here! Drunken Free Range Chicken -chicken was silky and can't go wrong with ginger scallion sauce. Sweet and Sour Pork -kids' favorite. The pork pieces here are mostly meat and a few pieces had bone in, didn't come across any large fatty pieces either. Fried to perfection and stayed crispy with sauce drenched all over. Vietnamese Style Filet Mignon -beef was so tender and flavorful. I wouldn't categorize this as a fine-dining establishment just yet, but it clearly sits in the higher-end tier of Cantonese restaurants. The menu is well-suited for communal dining, with several dishes designed to be shared, and there are also a handful of banquet-style dishes that can be ordered in advance for larger parties. The quality of the food is noticeably above that of a standard mom-and-pop shop, though it's still not my personal favorite among high-end Cantonese restaurants--at least for now. I'd like to explore more of the menu before making a final judgment. Super duper uber good Chinese food! Came here hungry and ordered 3 dishes: Honey Walnut Prawn: Super good and crispy, walnuts and sauce together made a really good combo. Salt and Pepper Spare Ribs: Really tasty and had a good consistency, kinda hard to chew but otherwise great. Clams were my favorite. They were salty and spicy and had a good array for flavors. All 3 items came out to be $80ish after TT and lunch comes with rice which was super duper uber clutch. Definitely coming back here. read more

I was quite surprised by the crowd on a Tuesday for lunch. The noise level was such that it made conversation challenging at times. The food was well below my expectations given the crowd. We used to dine at Henry's Cuisine quite often pre-pandemic. During Pandemic, we ordered out once. It was just not the same. So we stopped going there. The service this time was, how shall we say it, just not there. Especially the guy who took our order. When he heard we decided not to order the lobster Yimien after all, he became short and almost rude. Given the subpar quality of food served (not sure how the Michelin Recommend got there) and total lack of customer service, I would not be going back and would not recommend to anyone. read more

Great atmosphere and lovely crab and lobster themed restaurant. You could definitely tell why this restaurant earned a Michelin Star. The the beef chow fun was well flavored and not too greasy. I love the beef dish. It definitely had a unique flavor that I really enjoyed. The pork plate was delicious the skin was crispy and well flavored. We got a whole fried sole, it was nice that it came on a rack so that it was easier to serve. It was not too greasy and delicious! My favorite dish had to be the lobster. You have to get the noodles with it to soak up all the sauce.The lobster meat came right out of the shell and it was a great dish to share with our family. Our meal ended with an egg waffle that we shared with the table, which was a super nice ending. Overall. we enjoyed this restaurant and look forward to bringing back more friends and family. WOW! What an outstanding meal we had. Came with a large party without reservation on the weekend and had to wait about 45 min (well worth the wait!). Staff work to be efficient and get tables seated as soon as possible. Food came out piping hot and so flavorful. Each entree was cooked to perfection! The lobster was worth the hype. We got the basil scallion lobster and this may have been the best lobster we've had in a while. The lobster meat was so tender. All the entrees we got were throughly enjoyed however we probably will do without the three cup chicken. Of note, we were disappointed when we asked to order additional entrees for the table midway through our meal and were told the kitchen couldn't accommodate the order. While we understand it was busy we've never encountered this response before and this was unexpected. Nonetheless we all enjoyed our meal but wish we could've ordered more. The egg waffle for dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. Ambiance: bustling with tables full of both small and large parties. Service was decent. Staffs were warm and attentive. Food was served a bit slow but all dishes that we ordered were on point. The food here is a bit pricier than other restaurants around the area but the portions are bigger. The signature house lobster was delicious but my favorite is the Viet-style fried fish, crispy and tender paired well with perfect amount of savory sauce. One thing worth mentioning that a 12% service charge was added to the bill by the restaurant, which is fine cause I was planning to tip them 18% anyway.
