My husband said the karaage is some of the best he's had in Las Vegas--crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. We also tried the melon creamy soda and a Calpico, and both were delicious. We came early, so it was quiet when we arrived, but there was a steady flow of takeout orders, and this place is usually much busier. The server was friendly, the food came out looking fantastic (I couldn't resist taking pictures!), and the prices were hard to beat. Very disappointed in the quality of their food the last few times I've visited. Tonight, I ordered for pick up (chicken karaage, oyako chicken bowl, and a pork katsu set). We had omurice - delicious, tonkotsu ramen - delicious, great portion, i don't usually finish a bowl of ramen myself but i successfully finished a whole bowl. Beef udon bowl is recommended too, very tasty & full of flavor, croquette curry with rice is a great choice during a cold season. I had a comp night at Aliante. When that was arranged, I went on Yelp to look for someplace in the Northwest for dinner. I bookmarked Yoshiya and I'm really glad I did. It was a quick drive from Aliante to Farm Road/Durango and there was Yoshiya. Some of the menu was new to me. I knew I didn't want ramen. I was intrigued by some of the house signature dishes, espcially the Japanese omelette or omurice. I ordered the kurobuta sausage omelette with the house special sauce. The dish was really appealing looking and was a work of art. Fried rice with the pork and veggies topped by a thin omelette and surrounded with the house special sauce. It certtianly was a flavorful and filling dish. For dessert, I got the strawberry crèpe cake. It was very light. The cake was very thin. The strawbeery cream was quite tasty. It made a perfect ending to this dinner. Yoshiiya is a small place. Service was terrifiic. The young lady who served me was ver helpful in answering questions. The Chicken Kara-age had a very nice crisp to the skin, very tender, and the sauce was sublime. I couldn't put my finger on what it was, i tasted a hint of Japanese mayonnaise. It leaves a great taste following the zest of the lemon squeezed on top of the chicken. The tonkotsu ramen has a very subtle flavor to the broth, not overpowering. I found this place because I was craving for chicken katsu curry but it was decent here- the flavor is right but you can't choose a spice level, instead, they provided me with different spices on the side to add to my preference but it just wasn't the same. The chicken eggrolls tasted like frozen store bought eggrolls. I ordered the beef bowl to-go for my mom and she said it wasn't that great and lacked flavor. The chicken omelette rice would probably have been the best dish we ordered- definitely a must try here. This was my second time here. I had completely forgotten but as soon as I walked in, I remembered how much I enjoyed the ramen. Second time around, can confirm, food is still delicious. Idk why its so different from other ramen places. We had to adapt and go pescatarian. Thankfully they had shrimp on the menu. The food portions were ok, I felike for the amount of curry, they could have given probably a scoop and half of rice or even 2 scoops. I felt like I wasted the delicious curry sauce since I had nothing left to eat with it. Maybe even give 6 pieces of shrimp with 2 scoops of rice would have been a good portion. The service was great, no complaints there. I would come back again if they had more vegetables options on their menu. I think they had vegetable fried rice but I cook and eat that quite often, no need to pay for something I can make at home. One thing that was surprising was the affordability. We ordered 2 spring rolls and 1 edamame, 1 shrimp curry, 1 chicken Katsu, and 1 beef udon and the check was under $60. For the price and flavor of the food, this place is definitely worth it. If I ate meat and seafood daily, this would be my go to spot however, I don't so this would be a once in a blue moon type of choice.
