I don't think I'll ever get over how perfect the service, quality of food and overall vibe of Yoshiya is. It's no wonder they've maintained a 5 star average over the years. The staff here is wonderful! My friend and I came a few days ago and I ordered the Crab Cheese Croquette for my entree. When it arrived it was cold in the middle, but my server was sooo nice and replaced it immediately with double the amount croquettes. It was such a nice touch that was greatly appreciated. Nice little restaurant, has about 15 tables tucked inside. Was generally pretty quiet I didn't have to yell over music or a ton of people talking but it was right after they opened. Someone told me to check this place out for their ramen. I had the tonkatsu ramen, my brother had miso ramen. Both were really good. The chili paste doesn't make it too spicy but it's better than no spice at all. Their chicken egg rolls were really good. The mango cheese cake was phenomenal. I'll start off with I used to LOVE this place like once or twice a month I'd come in. I got the miso ramen and the only thing hot was the broth. The pork, eggs, literally all the ingredients inside were still cold and I asked for more broth to heat it up but it didn't make it better. I ordered the Kurobuta house fried rice, and let me tell you, probably the best fried rice in this area, hands down! Clean, not greasy or overly salty, smokey, fresh garlic, and seasoned just right! Rice cooked perfectly. Portions were very decent as well. Not to much or too little just right! Super quick too for how good everything is they get food out in a timely manner. This place is sooooo good. I had a long day and wanted something that was comforting. This bowl of ramen checked all the boxes. I like heat so they packed a little spicy red sauce in a little cup that allowed me to add as much or as little as i wanted. It had half an egg a little baby bok choy lots of noodles and just the right amount of thinly sliced meat. I was thoroughly satisfied. This use to be such an amazing restaurant. China town quality here in Skye canyon area. Management or ownership must have changed in the last year. The last several times there has been one waiter handling the whole restaurant. Dirty floors and tables, tables that sit there filthy through your whole meal. Tonight they did t have cups clean so had to wait for clean cups to get something to drink even after the food has been served. Unfortunately we are done with this restaurant. Why was the restaurant in disarray if you had someone there with him until 8? It's almost always one server bussing and serving. We have lived down the street from this place for so long and finally decided to try it as we were craving some ramen and really did not want to go to China town to get some. The place is small but when we arrived we got seated within 5 mins. Me and my husband both ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen I got the black garlic oil on the side which is weird because they charge extra for it. We got the Takoyaki first with in 10 mins or so, Takoyaki was good but I think it lacked of octopus. The ramen came after and as soon as it arrived on our table it had a very porky smell but that's fine it is tonkotsu after all, just never had that strong smell before. Broth was just ok it's a little bland honestly compared to to the once we've had in Las Vegas, the char siu pork that was in the ramen had a very strong odor and taste of pork but its was good, for the price I guess we can't complain because other places in town specially in China town charges more specially if we don't want to take the drive that far,But honestly if I want a good ramen I probably will. The chop stick workout was a lesson in fine motor skills and a gravitational balancing act for this one. I think I'll try the gyoza next time. Although this is a Japanese restaurant, the menu is not your typical "sushi and grilled or tempura-based dishes". Yoshiya specializes in Japanese omelets, and so of course that is what myself and my adventuresome friend had to try. We chose the sausage omelet. It had a distinctive Japanese-y name for the sausage, but it seriously tasted like hot dog, haha. And I have NOTHING wrong with hotdogs... I'm just saying. The sausage was mixed in with fried rice, topped with a swirly egg on top and then drizzled with umami brown and cream sauces around it. Yes, we split it and it was the perfect portion for both of us. This was a warm, cozy choice for a gloomy, rainy day. The waitstaff were very kind, and it was all around enjoyable. I am always on the hunt for a good ramen place. Well, I don't need to look any further because this is now at the top of my list. This is in the Albertsons shopping area. When we entered there was no hostess or a sign to wait to be seated. The waiter invited us to pick any spot we wished. They were very attentive and the food came out in a reasonable time. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen with thick noodles. The broth was so smooth and flavorful. The noodles perfect chewiness. We also ordered the combination fried rice which tasted delicious! I have high standards for fried rice and I was very impressed. The restaurant is intimate and quaint. I noticed they stayed busy, which is always a good sign. My husband and I decided to come back for a second chance. Our first time around we got the beef udon with no egg and the chicken ramen. This time around we still ordered the same apps the gyoza and the chicken egg rolls which is our favorite! Then for our main entrees we got the fried shrimp ramen and the shoyu ramen. We also decided to try the chicken katsu curry to share. The ramens tastes great! But the most surprising the the chicken katsu curry! My son loved it! The chicken katsu had the perfect crunchy and crispy outside even when dipped in the curry! Then for dessert we had the ube mochi and the purple sweet potato blanc cake.
