    Birria Chilaquiles
    Sydney G.

Huge plates for $20! Not just sizable but really delicious. We were surprised by how much flavor was in these plates! The jumbo shrimp was stewed with a delicious tomato broth / sauce along with peppers and onions. The flavor on the Birria was also delicious. They crisped up the sides before re-introducing back into the plated sauce. Meal was paired with Complimentary homemade chips and salsa Roja

Outstanding Chicken Enchiladas with Sweet Mole

I had been looking for a new Mexican place that has the traditional "home cooking" vibe after the imcredible Lisa's in Daly City permanently closed down. Lisa's really did everything right and, especially, had excellent mole, not easy to find in the Bay Area. So I'm charging my EV at the EVgo hub on Harrison at 6th and it was gonna take more than a half hour so I decided to check Yelp for what restaurants were around -- and found the amazing Yossies nearby, walking distance, with all the wonderful reviews. And I'll say right off the bat: it was a great choice, not disappointed in the least! A very warm, colorful, homey atmosphere, different table options to choose from (if they're not busy), everyone who works there is SO nice and goes out of their way to make sure your experience is perfect. And then, of course, the food! So, yep, they got mole -- and it is excellent!! I would actually say it's even better than Lisa's, and that's saying a lot. They aren't afraid to bring out the bold flavors, that wonderful Mexican chocolate -- it's one of the best moles I've had in a very, very long time. I had the Chicken Mole Enchiladas. You can also get Pollo En Mole as a basic dish, which comes with tortillas. Beans & rice were slightly elevated as compared to other Mexican restaurants as were the chips and salsa. They also serve a great Jamaica (hibiscus) drink. And the prices are reasonable. I am SO happy I found Flossies, my new favorite sit-down, homestyle Mexican place -- and, if you're wondering if you should make the trip all the way down (or up or over) to Harrison & 7th in SOMA just for Mexican food, I would say it is most definitely worth it!

A really cozy sports bar with a warm family restaurant feel. They have a big menu with a ton of options, including all the classics. They have a pretty extensive breakfast menu as well. I'm sure anything you order would be great (and a huge portion!). shrimp quesadilla - delicious and massive Machaca breakfast burrito - tons of meat that's very juicy and flavorful, and I really appreciated the way they layered the ingredients inside the burrito. You could get a bit of everything in each bite. Their house chips are also awesome as is theirespicy salsa. Don't sleep on the hot sauce at the table - It's super flavorful!

This spot is fairly new to the area and worth trying. The restaurant has a vibrant, authentic Mexican vibe, with colorful decor and a welcoming atmosphere. There's a nice variety of seating options, including a bar area, tables, and booths. Chips and salsa are served right after being seated, tasting fresh and homemade--an excellent start. The michelada is well-balanced and refreshing. The Mexican nachos supreme with beef and the burrito grande with chicken come in very generous portions--definitely on the heavier side. Both dishes are filling and packed with rich, authentic flavors. Continuous chip service is also a nice bonus. Overall, a solid spot for authentic Mexican food with large, hearty portions and a lively atmosphere. Looks like they have good happy hour too! (Weekdays only)

2 chicken sopes (Second visit same item, this time it had olives in it as a garnish?)

I've been looking for a place in SF that has decent Mexican food. We went here twice and ordered the same thing before I left a review. We came at lunch time, price was $2-3 cheaper for lunch vs dinner price (same portion size) I got sopes, one chicken, one carne asada, the chicken was very juicy and flavorful, the asada was a tad dry. The second visit I got all chicken, no complains at the juiciness of the meat. It did have chopped black olives in it this time which I didn't expect, I picked it off. Overall it was very yummy and felt like some authentic Mexican food and not some knock off/tex mex style that comes pricy and isn't the real thing. We also got the 2 soft tacos, chicken as well. Flavor and portion was all there. During lunch time it was slow but staff was sweet and attentive, and the chips and salsa were good, the salsa actually had a nice spicy flavor kick to it but not too hot. Overall we liked this Mexican restaurant, we judged it being part bar but honestly this has been the best Mexican restaurant when looking for authentic flavor. I'd recommend this place. And reasonably priced.

Highly recommend checking out spot if you love San Jalisco on 20th and South Vaness! Full bar and delicious foods. Friendliest staff and you definitely can't go wrong with any items on the menu! My go to are the chilaquiles (red or green) and steak milanesa!

This place is DELICIOUS! I got the shrimp quesadilla with a hibiscus margarita and everything was excellent. Great portion size, and the chips, guacamole and salsa we ordered was very fresh and delicious. The margarita wasn't too sweet either which I really liked. The other dishes my family ordered were great too!

Can't believe I didn't come here sooner!! Some of the best Mexican food in the city! Friendly atmosphere and great service this place is the whole package!! Will definitely come back. I highly recommend the Camerones Karina but any of the shrimp or fish dishes are really next level !

    Great atmosphere

Food is delicious!! Great atmosphere. The food here is sooo good. The service is good. If you like great Mexican food, come and enjoy!!!

This joint never fails me! It's conveniently located near my workplace and always gets the job done whenever I got craving for home cooked Mexican fare! It's becoming my old haunt as I go there frequently. They got a great chicken soup that I always get whenever I'm under the weather and I also asked them to make me a medicine ball tea to go with the soup. Needless to say, Yossie's chicken soup and medicine ball tea always shorten my cold! Oh, did I mention that you get complimentary chips and salsa!? It's all made in the house too! The ambulance in there is nice and there is a jukebox that you can put money in to play your favorite songs. You can choose either to sit at a Bar area and have nice chit chat with the bartender or you can sit at the booth area to people watch. The decors are inspired by elements of Mexican culture such as wrestling masks, flags, and so on! I do recommend bring cash as it's slightly cheaper than credit cards! They also have a FULLY stocked bar so you could curate alcoholic drinks of your dreams! There are few IPAs on tabs too as well as the typical beers like modelo, Heineken, and so on! Soda wise they got anything from canned coke to Mexican coke, as well as hot tea! Oh, if anyone wants to order the medicine ball tea, you tell them the following; -ginger tea bag steep in hot water -fresh squeeze lime or lemons with honey -a splash of bitter I guarantee once you had that, you'll clear your snot out within few days!

    Birria Caldo
    Elaine S.

Yummy good and great prices. I loved my Birria Caldo, but my husband wasn't a fan of the carne asada tacos. They were kinda dry and bland. Surprising since carne asada tacos r pretty standard and the birria was so so good . We'd come back and order diff taco meats to see if they're better Another note is that during game times, the service can be prettyyyyyyy slow. Like 30 mins to get the check slow. Just a heads up.

Place is solid, nothing special. But that's sometimes harder to find that it might seem, especially for a mexican restaurant in SF.

What originally started as a disappointment became a huge blessing once we found the board room. Feet aching, sweaty, and tired we made our way to this bar. Immediately you could tell it's a local favorite, the ambiance was nice and a great spot to people-watch. There was a cup flipping event which was super fun to spectate, along side the rotating pictures of the bar's beloved pooches . We ordered 2 western burgers, 12 count bone-in wings (half bbq, half Hawaiian), and an appetizer of corn dogs, tater tots, bacon Mac & cheese bites, and mozzarella sticks. Later we also added boneless buffalo wings which were so tangy, well-seasoned, and HOT. The western bacon burgers were so delicious, crispy bacon, crispy onion rings, and some bomb.com bbq sauce. The wings were drowned in sauce (just how we like them) , the bbq was to die for and the Hawaiian had the perfect little kick of spice for our picky eaters. The appetizer platter was also fried to perfection, with the perfect crunch on the tater tots & corn dogs. The Mac & cheese bites & mozzarella sticks were perfectly cheesed, with an amazing cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks. Along with the food, my boyfriend and I ordered some drinks. I got a margarita and he got a Guinness. Both drinks were good, very standard and well served. The couple behind the bar were very funny and super kind to us being dazed after all the walking. I stopped by around 4:30 p.m. and there were a few tables where I saw folks finishing up their work day on their laptops with a beer. It's neither overly crowded, nor overly loud, which is perfect for getting work done. Since it was the World Cup and many guests would be camping out for the entire match, table service has a per person minimum spend of $25. This is a really a non-issue because a cocktail is around $15, so two drinks, or one drink with some food, will easily hit this minimum. My wife and I shared crispy pork schnitzel ($17) and an order of their deviled eggs ($12). The deviled eggs were nicely seasoned and included a small salad shrimp on top for some variety. The pork schnitzel was perfectly fried and the potatoes in the included side-salad was well-cooked and not over dressed. I would recommend enjoying the schnitzel with some mustard. Both drinks that I ordered -- an Old Fashioned and a Boulvardier, were well prepared. No notes here. Service here was top notch.
