wow. Don't come here for the tacos. I think the plates looked yummy. but tacos were underwhelming. The fish taco was fine. The carnitas and al pastor were just not my cup of tea. so wet and I don't like bacon in my al pastor. I liked the salsas and the pozole was fine. They did have a big screen and a smaller TV for world cup. our server was very sweet and attentive. the place did fill up during lunch on a weekday. We came with a group of 7? so they can accommodate large groups.

Visiting San Francisco for work and was super pleased to find this adorable taco spot a few blocks away. I have Celiac and had no reaction to the Elote appetizer or any of the tacos I ate (yes I ate all three), which were all delicious. The server confirmed the chips are not safe to eat due to a shared fryer which was very helpful. I highly recommend checking out Matador.

Cute Mexican restaurant near Union Square/Lower Nob Hill with a pretty good happy hour! They fill up so make a reservation if you can. My friend and I both enjoyed tacos--they did not scrimp on meat and had unique flavors, spices, and one came with avocado! Service was attentive and fast--we were in a rush and they were great!

Had a great meal here for happy hour - a terrific value for the city. The sangria was delicious and not overly sweet. The chips and salsa at $2 were a steal, and the tacos were amazing - lots of interesting combos to choose from. Service was excellent and the inside was modern and clean. They have outside seating too.

I must say I'm being disappointed. These nachos were $20. This is one of my favorite restaurants and this Togo order does not match the quality or quantity of what you get when you dine in. The happy hour nachos you get more food than this for half the price. Do better

This is my favorite spot for happy hour. The happy hour is from 12pm-5:20pm. I always get the chicken flautas and nachos and get either a glass or pitcher of their tequila margarita or mezcal margarita. The flautas are loaded with meat on the inside and the toppings are really good. The nachos are also good and I've tried the prickly pear margarita and strawberry margarita. This most recent time I got a mezcal cucumber jalapeño (bomb!) pitcher and it was enough for about 4 1/2 glasses. We also requested tajin rim. We also tried the side of rice and beans and could choose from Spanish rice or cilantro lime rice, which we tried the cilantro lime and it was really flavorful! Your choice of refried or black beans. We usually go between 1-3pm ish and it isn't super busy but I've seen this place get very busy in the evening. It's close to Union square and there's an underground bar on the side. Service is always quick and the server is always friendly.

Came here on a Saturday evening with a friend. It was my friend's first time trying Mexican food so I had to show what's up. We ordered the quesabirria, chips & salsa, and steak fajitas. All were exceptionally well. We ordered drinks too. At one point, we needed extra tortillas & ordered, but our server forgot. This place is a really cute, intimate hang out spot. Would definitely recommend

Excellent food, quick service and good drinks. If you want to indulge with Mexican flavors, this is it. A convenient spot, with casual ambiance is calling you if you haven't been there already.

They had the cutest set up for the Super Bowl! Joined them for a last minute watch party and got to experience groups of people without the crowd, it still felt intimate like a house watch party. The main entrance had a large screen and the other room had another TV. I didn't try the super bowl menu--only their regular one which was a cute addition anyways. We ordered the pozole rojo, camarón de agua chiles, and chips and salsa + 2 tequila wells shots. Everything was decently priced and we only spent about $50 including tip, split between 2 people is such a good deal! We were hella full and our faves were the salsa and the ceviche! I would definitely come back to try more. The staff were nice and accommodating.

I had a fantastic first meal in San Francisco upon the recommendation from the concierge at Hotel Emblem. The food was delicious, plentiful and arrived very quickly to my table. My server was also incredibly kind and hospitable. Margarita was also delicious- La Pasion.

Had dinner here after walking into a few other neighborhood spots that had no availability. A nice casual taqueria on the pricy side due to its location. Service is friendly. We thought the food was fine, okay on a bar food scale. My party ordered shrimp aguachile and tacos- al pastor, bistek, and quesabirria. The quesabirria was the best of the bunch. The churros were fresh and hot, with a side of chocolate and caramel sauce.

The food was a good, it wasn't extra special but it had 2/4 great tasting plates. The nachos were a delightful surprise, fresh & light chips with good flavors.Loved the mushroom sopes they had wonderful texture & flavor! The tacos were not the best but good enough. The filling in them was good but tortillas themselves were bad they crumbled and did not taste home made or fresh but thats really my only complaint. I Don't think the cucumber shrimp rolls were good they felt soggy n not crisp or acidic enough. Kinda soggy or something. Was disappointed on the seating in the back honestly thought it would be darker / more secret with more of a speak easy ambiance.I liked the vibe in the front better. More lively with better music. It was kinda dead in the back and they had TVs back there which didn't fir the scene, the decor was ok but they did it committ enough. Service was ok a bit rushed.

We came here as a small group and overall thought our food was fine overall. My colleague ordered a quesabirria taco but had to ask for a regular taco because she said there was just too much cheese in her initial taco. My Mexican pizza was just okay but it had a lot of random sauces and toppings on it that it wasn't super appetizing. My other colleague liked her chile relleno, but it was a bit odd that it had chicken in it as well. We ordered chips and salsa but the chips were pretty stale and difficult to finish. The mocktails and happy hour menu were pretty nice though. Overall, the food was just okay and it was pretty reasonable as well. But what you order could be hit or miss. Our servers were very nice but when they get busy it can be difficult to get their attention.

Given the complexity, the…read moredrinks do take awhile so just hang out and enjoy! * Lychee Corn 75 = sweet lychee, but not overly; can't really taste any alcohol * Korean Cold Noodles = so complex! It's hard to describe but it's definitely worth a try. It also comes with some Dijon mustard to try with it. * Dumpling Martini = VERY strong and unique. It comes with a real dumpling! * Mango Sago = I really liked this one - tastes exactly like mango with coconut and has a few mochi for fun. * Ube Cheesecake = yummy dessert cocktail that is fairly thick so commit (it's worth it) The food is really unique as well - I highly suggest the deviled egg sampler. The atmosphere is very lounge like with chill vibes. Service is great.

Lore's Wonderland escape room was a fun and delightfully whimsical experience. **This review is…read moremainly for the escape room, as we did not order any additional drinks outside of the escape room.** THE SPACE // Lore Speakeasy and Escape Room has cool themed decor everywhere, from the dimly-lit speakeasy/bar room in front, to the Middle Earth/Lord of the Rings-themed board game room, to the individual bathrooms, and of course the escape room's multiple Alice in Wonderland-themed rooms. Clearly a lot of effort went into building these rooms and evoking a certain vibe for each. THE ESCAPE ROOM // The puzzles in the escape room varied in difficulty - some required us to think a bit more, some required our observational skills to work harder, and others required a light level of physical skill/movement. We were perplexed a few times but never got stuck for too long, as the White Rabbit (played by Phoenix, the live actor/puzzle master) would jump in occasionally to provide clues over the speaker or in person. It took us about 1 hr 20 min to finish the entire escape room; I thought the pacing was good. THE [ESCAPE ROOM] DRINKS // Lore's escape room experience comes with "a flight of themed cocktails or mocktails, including "potion"-style drinks that are integrated into the experience as you progress", per the website. We got to choose one cocktail/mocktail option (Korean Cold Noodles) from a list on the website, and the other two drinks are pre-selected to supposedly fit into the Wonderland theme, with the flavors described online as "berry" and "peach". You can get both cocktail and mocktails for your party, in case some people want alcohol and others don't. We all enjoyed the flavor of the Korean Cold Noodles cocktail, which was refreshing and surprisingly a bit minty in the mocktail version. However, we didn't like the two other two pre-selected themed drinks as much. The "berry" drink gave us cherry cough syrup vibes, and the cocktail version of it was quite strong. The "peach" mocktail drink reminded me of canned fruit syrup; we also were missing the two cocktail versions, though we decided not to ask for them as the mocktail version already was less than impressive. One other missed expectation here was the size of the drinks that we received in the escape room. We were expecting full-sized cocktails, like what they serve in the speakeasy in front. Instead, we found out that the drinks are served in small "vials". Given the size of the drinks in the escape room, combined with us not even enjoying two out of the three drinks, I would preferred to go through the escape room without the drinks at all, and likely pay a bit less for the escape room then. OVERALL // I'd still recommend the escape room as a good one-time experience with a date/friends/family. Just don't expect too much from the included themed drinks! The speakeasy drinks on the main menu do sound unique/tasty, so I might come back again to try those sometime.

The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good!
