After getting a number of messages and calls from other providers, I went with Jacob at BrightCrest. His message he sent was very up front with all the information on his side that was helpful for me - the initial service fee, website and phone number to reach him all laid out tranparently.When I called, her picked up right away and told us he could be there later that day. He arrived within the window of time he told us, got to work immediately and was quick to identify the problem. He then let us know he would need to order two parts and made sure to show us the cost of each before ordering them. We really appreciated the transparency! The parts arrived the next day and he was able to come back out the morning after that to fix the fridge. Jacob seems to be a man of his word and we were very happy with his service!

The whole repair probably took a little over an hour and I expected to pay close to what the others quoted but to my surprise he was charging us a premium. When I questioned the price the gentleman stated he made a mistake and he quoted me the price he would of charged if he went out to source a part. Last I checked he never left the kitchen..? This kind of shady practice is why a lot of us consumers are weary and ask for up front pricing. I still ended up paying more than I would of but it was simply to end the contract. I cannot in good conscience recommend SkillRam. EDIT - Response to owner First of, no quote was provided beforehand and I can screenshot the whole conversation. Did you also forget that was the same conversation where you took the liberty to schedule 10am despite the fact that I clearly stated "anytime AFTER 12pm" forcing me to care for my child while balancing this repair. Second, the gentleman backtracked on the price when I questioned it and stated the $320 price was due to an extra charge to source parts. Please dont claim you are innocent because I have the receipts to prove my claim. What an awful way to do business. He was able to send out a technician the following day, they were able to squeeze me in as someone was out that way. The technician identified the problem quickly, and advised that the office would call me to discuss the part ordering. A few days later (delay due to holiday) they called, advised the cost although word to the wise just get clarification on if the price quoted is for the part or both part and labor, it will avoid any misunderstandings on both ends. The fix wasn't inexpensive but it was a lot cheaper than getting a new oven. They do service bosch/thermador my thermador was well out of warranty and the oven was in the house when we moved in 7 years ago so we have no idea where the oven was originally purchased. Given I had some challenges with another appliance repair company a few years back and even getting some to even call me back was also a challenge I was please to run across Scott's team. I would happily call them again was pleased with the responsiveness.
