I ordered a Vietnamese coffee and it was... not a Vietnamese coffee. Vietnamese coffee is meant to have a strong flavor and have a rich but subtle sweetness from the sweetened condensed milk. What I got was poor quality black coffee with too much sweet creamer. I checked out the ramen bar just to see what it was but it was also lacking. There were many options and I didn't see any toppings of any kind (I'm think they were refrigerated but it would have been nice to have them displayed in a fridge next to the area; maybe it was and I missed it).. I can also tell they are attempting to go for a third space type of vibe with board games and things but the space they have created isn't inviting enough to uphold that environment. As far as the service goes, he was very kind and patient which goes a long way. I asked him if he could just add a little more coffee so it wasn't as sweet and he said that he could just remake it for me and that he wanted me to enjoy my drink. It was far above what I expected and I really respect that. The drink was again, not very good because it just wasn't Vietnamese coffee, but the service was very thoughtful. I just didn't feel right asking him to make a whole other drink I would like because I didn't like the one I had (I'm not a Karen lol). I'm sure other fruity drinks or the dalgona coffee is better that what I had and I just happened to choose poorly off the menu, but I do strongly believe businesses shouldn't just add popular drinks to their menu to bring people in but focus strongly on what they are good at. It's always better to have a small menu of well curated and crafted drinks than a large menu of drink with some of them not quite perfected. With that being said, I probably won't be back but I hope they can find what they are best at, hone in on it, and grow a lot! The Coconut Cloud Matcha is my go-to in the summer because it's so refreshing. When I'm not in the mood for matcha, I usually get one of their fruit teas, which are also super flavorful. Their Vietnamese coffee is rich, smooth, and has a strong coffee flavor without being overly bitter. On top of that, the service is always incredibly fast and everyone is so friendly. Definitely one of my favorite cafés in Ann Arbor!

They have a pretty good selection of matcha drinks, and you can order from a self-service kiosk. I got the mango matcha latte, and my friend got the coconut matcha cloud. Our drinks came out pretty quickly, and the matcha was smooth and easy to drink. There isn't a ton of seating inside, so we just stood around while waiting for our drinks, but we didn't have to wait long. If you're looking to study or hang out with a friend, though, you might have a harder time finding a seat if it's busy. We were taking ours to-go, so it wasn't really an issue. They only have one size for drinks, but I'd definitely come back to try some of their other matcha and coffee options!

Very bright and airy and extremely spacious. Plenty of seating and lots of greenery and solid wifi make it a great place to set up shop for a bit, which I did as I sat in on a few work calls during my visit. They have a smaller but curated menu, both of food and beverages, with a real focus on the beans and expertly prepared coffee/espresso. They don't have many syrups or flavors, setting it up to let their roasts shine. I do like my coffee a little sweet so opted for the honey in my iced latte and it was delicious. For bites they have a few items, including an egg scramble, egg sandwich, sourdough pancakes (which is garnering them quite a following!) and my choice, the "Good Salad" which was greens, warm roasted potatoes, and fresh dill topped with a hazelnut green garlic crunch. I added the optional soft boiled egg for a bit of protein and it was great! I wish they sold the hazelnut green garlic crunch because I would put it on EVERYTHING. They also have a few baked goods available and I definitely snatched up the last chocolate walnut cookie while I was there. I'm not sure if they warmed it up a bit for me or they just make a magical gooey cookie but the chocolate chunks were melty and so decadent. They had a few seasonal strawberry based items right now, including some ice cream and beverages. I meant to grab the latter on my way out but got distracted and forgot. Next time for sure! It might have taken me a minute to get here but it won't be a minute before I get back!

Her drink was great, very similar to Roos Roast and very enjoyable (I tried a sip). My drink was good quality but I didn't prefer the Ope milk because of the distinct nutty and roasted taste of the sunflower seeds. Because I am lactose intolerant and that is the only option, I don't think I would come back here for coffee. I could tell by the taste aside from the milk that the coffee was good quality and brewed with great attention to detail. As for flavors, Espy only had two flavor options on their menu which is unique and has its own pros and cons. I love that the seltzer water is on the house. I would love to try some food here next time I come. Amanda was our barista. They were incredibly kind and eccentric in the best way. They made us feel comfortable and helped us navigate the menu well. Hopefully I have them as a barista again :) The overall vibe of the cafe is amazing. The merch is very cute and as a ceramicist, I really appreciate the handmade mugs, plates, planters, and so on. The open layout was spacious and I genuinely enjoyed being in there. It was somewhat mushy and did have a bit of spiciness. I had a Yelp coupon for a free side that they weren't sure what to do with but I was able to get a free cookie side with it. All in all it was a good experience. I know they are known for their smoothies so will try that next time.
