Omg! I was surprised I would love this restaurant as much as I did. The little dumplings in chili oil were so good without being over spicy. We had the fried dumplings also- sooooo juicy and tender! After seeing stellar reviews my hopes were raised that I could find a genuine Chinese restaurant closer to home and not as far as the Rockville area. We just ordered three items for takeout - vegetable dumplings, chive pork dumplings and a sticky rice appetizer. The appetizer was the only decent dish because the rice had good flavor and texture though wasn't anything special. Vegetable dumplings had no greens in them but were filled with a bland thick potato-like paste with edamame and carrots unlike any Chinese veggie dumplings I'd had. Pork dumplings were the worst - flabby overcooked mushy wrappers and an under seasoned chunky pork filling. Maybe noodle soups and soup dumplings here are better? It seems unlikely. Extremely disappointed and will have to go back to driving twice as far to Rockville to get a good Chinese meal. read more

Great find! The place is clean and service is good. We got the rainbow soup dumplings, which is a sampler of different kinds of soup dumplings. They were delicious! The skin of the dumplings held up nicely so they didn't break immediately when I picked them up. The soup flavor was good. I got the beef noodle soup, which I really enjoyed. The beef was thin cut, which I hadn't had in beef noodle soup before, but I liked it. The noodles had the right amount of chewiness. My husband got the N1 Chongqing noodles, which he really liked. The soup had a great spicy flavor. Total was $45 including tip, which isn't bad for 3 great dishes. We will be back! read more

This is the perfect noodle and dumpling spot. Nice varied menu, bright with large glass front allowing for natural light. Good atmosphere overall. I had the cucumber in garlic sauce w/ peanut. Perfect start! Healthy and delicious. I followed that with a large (huge!) flounder and fermented vegetable soup with rice noodles. Very hot (temp), very fresh and oh so comforting. I wanted to try the soup dumplings and steamed pork buns, both favorites of mine, but had no room! I'll be back...perhaps tomorrow! read more

Went here for date night and was not disappointed! First the prices are AMAZING! Half the price of any other good restaurant around! I got a big tasty bowl of noodles for 10 bucks. The service was also great and the cucumber water was a nice touch. The space is also really cute, but know the heating and cooling systems in the building are not the best so it's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The food was also great! I agree with some other reviews that the soup dumplings weren't the best but everything else made up for that! The scallion pancakes were to die for and the pork buns were very juicy. WOW WOW WOW! Best meal of last 2 years. I had Thai tea, the spicy dumpling app and the spicy soup dumplings. Most of the time when a restaurant in this area says spicy there is no heat at all. These dishes we rated 2 chili's on the menu and actually had some kick. The soup dumplings were definitely the spicier of the two. If I lived closer I'd be he once a week. read more

This Yu Noodles branch brings the great tasting xiaolongbao and noodles to Silver Springs! I've tried the fairfax branch before and have frequently driven 30-45 minutes through traffic just to have a taste of the chewy noodles and this branch does not disappoint. With ample seating, I have yet to see them have a wait time to be seated, but they are almost always busy with at least 3-4 parties. My favorites at Yu Noodles include the sesame noodles with chicken and the xiaolongbao. Admittedly, I have yet to try their soup-y noodles but I'm sure they are just as good! Their version of Luroufan is also superb for its price! Overall, a great deal for the amount of food you're getting! read more

Came with my family of 4 adults and two little ones. The good: -Steamed pork buns - really good! My toddler loved these. I did notice the table next to us got veggie buns and they seemed factory made. But the pork buns seem homemade -Wood ear mushrooms - very flavorful -Sesame noodles - nice flavor with the pork mince and carrots -service was friendly and fast -nice space The average: -soup dumplings. Just a bit better than store bought -edamame: as expected -chili oil wontons: some wontons not filled, sauce missed the mark. But if you've never had good ones you might like these -lotus leaf rice: pretty good! Just not enough flavor The bad: -si chuan peppercorn chicken app: chicken was not fresh, sauce was not good and too spicy. We couldnt finish it -sour cabbage fish noodle soup: broth did not taste like fish, just spicy and very sour. Disappointing. read more

I've been here multiple times and it's such a great spot! The ambience is very cozy with nice service without feeling overpriced / too fancy. The food is SO good, I've had their soup dumplings everytime and they are awesome. All the soups I've tried are great, especially the Szechuan beef soup and chicken leg soup. read more

It doesn't seem like they are made in-house based on the texture, but despite that they are flavorful and not too heavy. Definitely have that cosy comfort food feeling. Try the chicken wings appetizer and save room for the mango sago dessert. Wonderful service. The soup dumplings are not reliably good. Sometimes they are tasty, other times there is no broth in them. My first time, I ordered delivery. It came quickly and was packaged well. I ordered the pork soup dumplings ($13), N7 sesame paste noodles with minced pork ($14.30) black sticky rice with coconut milk and mango ($10.50) and I met the minimum for a free order of steamed edamame ($9.10). The pork soup dumplings were fine. They came with soy sauce. The noodles were a big portion. The noodles sat on the bottom below the toppings. Mixing everything up was the way to go. It was bland and oily, though. I had to use a napkin more than usual. I waited too long to pull the hoisin sauce from my fridge. That made it yummier. Overall, big portion, fresh ingredients, but not that flavorful. I finished with the sticky rice. It was a container of coconut milk with some unripe mango an a hunk of purple rice. It was fine. Overall it was pretty pricey and just OK. I don't know what I would order if I went back, as I don't eat spicy food. Recommendations welcome! read more

All the dumplings were so fresh and flavorful, the flounder noodle soup was so interesting and tasty. The hot oil wontons are always a favorite. And there are tons of vegetarian options! Pretty good, although they put a lot of soy beans (I think), cucumber, and pickled something in their food. Personally, I prefer a typical bowl of pho. My daughter got dry noodles (non-soup version), and she said they were pretty bland until she put a fair amount of soy sauce and other spices in it. Service was friendly and good. I was in Silver Spring, Maryland on Saturday and decided to try Yu Noodles for dinner. The restaurant has recently opened and has a cute vibe. I had the Pan-Fried Chive & Pork Dumplings and Pan-Fried Pork Buns. The buns were my favorite of the two. Make sure you get them pan-fried. I was only able to eat two and brought the rest home. The next day, I put the leftover buns and dumplings in my air fryer, and they tasted as good as they did in the restaurant. read more

Yu Noodles was great. Easy to find, nice decor inside, friendly staff, seemed family-owned. Most important, great Szechuan food. I was jonesing for some flounder/sour cabbage soup, and their big bowl with noodles hit the spot. I wish they had beer, but it's just water, tea and soft drinks. Keeps it casual and not rowdy, I guess. But if you want excellent spicy Szechuan in a casual atmosphere, this is the spot. read more
