Wow wow wow. I am beyond impressed with the dinner we had here. Looking online it said they had sushi which is why we came, I was a little weary when we arrived and our waitress told us they recently switched their menu to Thai food. But it did not disappoint! I ordered the yellow curry and it was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, it had carrots, potatoes, and chicken. We got the crispy pork belly as an appetizer and it was amazing as well. It came with a tamarind sauce that was so yummy. Our server was so nice and brought us different sauces to try. She was very knowledgeable of the menu. We came here on a summer Saturday around 6:30 PM and we were seated right away. I'm glad we did come before 7 PM because it got very crowded. Our waiter was very nice and was constantly checking on us as well as giving us menu recommendations. We started off with the Crab Rangoon which were great. Next we had the Philadelphia roll, which was a special item on a temporary menu. We told the chef this needs to be added permanently because it was so good. I stopped in Vegas for some food on a road trip and ended up here! The food was interesting, as it was a fusion of different types of Asian cuisine, which is a relatively novel concept to me. We ended up getting three items: Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna (9/10), a Yu or Mi Roll (6/10) and Basil Stir-Fry Noodles with Chicken (7/10). Wow! Surprised at the sashimi quality here. Thought it was going to be a place for tourists but it's actually pretty decent here. We visited because they had both vegan and meat eater options. I really enjoyed it this place. I had the crab cheese wontons and the mushroom miso soup, and both were so good. The wontons were perfectly crispy with the right amount of filling, and the soup was super comforting with great flavor. The staff was nice and the service was good. The restaurant had a really nice vibe too, clean and calm but still lively enough to enjoy a meal out. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu. read more

If you are at Durango hotel and wanted Sushi, this would definitely be your choice. I don't see someone coming here specifically for sushi as there are better options around town at a better price point. Expect to pay premium prices for sushi primarily because it is in a hotel. We ordered Super Spider Roll and the Y.O.M. Sushi Moriwase. With the Y.O.M. Sushi Moriwase, you get to choose a classic roll in which we chose the toro & oshinko roll for an additional $6 charge. Price wise, I felt this was a really good deal since that roll itself would cost $22. And surprisingly, it also was my favorite item that we ate there. One interesting thing is that they also have some noodles and fried rice, which ironically would be something I'd like to try next time. They have a pretty good drink menu as they have a decent selection of sake as well as Japanese Whiskey. If you're wanting to look for either of those selections, then I'd say this is your best choice since those options aren't commonly found in casinos in genereal. The vibe of the restaurant was pretty chill where it's in the middle of feeling like a restaurant, but still attached to a food court. I really like the decor and the huge bonsai tree that they have. There's no windows separating you from the food court so you may still feel like you're apart of the food court while eating. Our server was really nice and would check up on us. It wasn't so busy so it was pretty easy to get their attention if we needed any thing. Overall, I only think it's good to eat here if you wanted Sushi and was at Durango hotel. FABULOUS!!! First off make reservations. If not, they can seat you at the bar. Which is not bad at all. Comfy chairs to sit in. Miso soup fried tofu, mushroom, chives, and wakame. This was delicious. Some soups could be a little gritty and this one was not. Loved the tiny mushrooms they had in it. Poke nachos, with crispy wonton strips, small slices of avocado and the fish was so fresh. Had a good little kick with the tiny, sliced jalapenos. Spicy tuna roll, with cucumber, nori and rice. Basic roll. Can't go wrong with this. Roulette roll, with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, jalapeno, avocado and eel sauce. This was very good, with a BIG kick. Royal Tiger roll, lobster salad, spicy turn, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce. Very good as well. But the best roll we had is the Thai Sunset roll. It has seared beef on top with different veggies rolled in the middle. So GOOD! We will defiantly be back! read more

We were in the area doing some thrifting. We walk by Yu-Or-Mi Sushi Bar all of the time but haven't stopped by before. I'm always up for sushi or Asian food. It wasn't too busy on a Saturday early evening, but it was steady. We ordered our favorite dishes. I liked the crab fried rice, it was a smaller portion and not much crab so I prefer more crab meat. This place was awesome! I came here with coworkers and we had a fantastic time! I will definitely be back! We started with the crispy rice and the edamame. Both were excellent. The crispy rice wasn't GF so I couldn't try it but my coworkers loved it! The edamame was good nothing special but very good! My coworkers ordered the shrimp tempura roll and the tuna both were very happy with their food. I ordered the salmon sashimi and it was so delicious very fresh and would order it again. The star of the night was the crab truffle fried rice. They fry the crab in potato starch so it was GF and it was INCREDIBLE!! I want to go back just for this dish. I was in town for the When We Were Young festival and absolutely loved this place! My server Greg was so awesome, nice, and had the best playlist of emo/punk/pop punk music playing in tangent with the festival. I so enjoyed my time sitting here mouthing along to my fave songs while having a delicious meal with delicious wine. I ordered the Baja Rainbow Sashimi, Tonkatsu ramen, and three (lol) glasses of Prosecco. The sashimi was super fresh and yummy tasting. My faves were the two different tunas and the mackerel. The yuzu sauce and the stuff they put on top were perfect. I didn't add anything to them because they were perfect as-is. The Tonkatsu ramen was yummy too. I probz should have asked for some spicy sauce to make it perfect, but it was really good still without it. The mix of bamboo shoots, green onions, egg, broth, pork, and ramen noodles were exactly the comfort I was looking for. I also love that they made the egg the right way (a little runny in the middle and not overcooked). And their Prosecco was really good. They only have one offering, but it's really great with the right amount of bubbles. Plus they fill your glass, which is always a bonus. Just absolutely loved how nice my server was, the music playing given the weekend (though I'd personally love it all the time lol), and the yummy food and drinks! Def recommend! We are downtown all the time visiting our favorite book store Analog Dope every Sunday! We walk by Yu-Or-Mi Sushi all the time and say we are going to try it and finally did! I'm so happy this day came to! Now it is a bit pricey compared to other sushi joints in town, but I feel the price is worth it! The staff were extremely friendly and chill! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and seated quickly. It was around 4:30pm on a Sunday and we were the only ones in there for a while. It's such a chill and relaxing vibe inside. We chose a window seat so we could people watch . We took so long to decide what we wanted because everything sounded amazing. I settled on the Poke nachos, Popai Roll and What The Fish Bowl. Everything was spectacular! The Poke Nachos were hands down our favorite. The wonton chips were so crispy all the way to the last chip on the bottom. The tuna was so fresh and everything was perfectly seasoned and had a bit of a spicy kick to it. The Popai roll was equally as good. I loved the spinach and the sweet potato combination. It was the most intriguing duo, and paired perfectly well together with the ponzu sauce! Lastly, I had the What The Fish Bowl which was so refreshing! The spicy tuna, tuna, salmon, and yellowtail were all so fresh! I cannot emphasize how fresh the fish was here! This is our new spot to eat at when we're downtown and craving sushi! read more

I'm not sure how this place got as many stars as it does... Their menu is very limited and does not have your typical Chirashi bowl, which is what I wanted. This is the first Japanese restaurant that I have been to that does not have this. Saw the mushroom salad on Yelp and ordered it. What I got was romaine lettuce with mushroom?!! Really? That's deceptive. If you ran out of arugula, you should have said something, and I would have ordered something else, especially since my miso soup had the same mushrooms, which is also unusual. The arugula, first ingredient listed, was the main reason why I ordered it. The portion seems much smaller than what someone posted a couple of years ago. It's unacceptable to substitute something and not tell your customer. I will never go back! read more

Been here twice and the service has been good. The restaurant is small and cozy. The food here is really tasty. The menu isn't too extensive but it's got plenty to choose from. I didn't love the poke nachos but everything else I've had has been really good: spicy tuna crispy rice, yellowtail ceviche, Baja rainbow sashimi, all delicious! While there's another location in the Durango Casino on the southwest side of town, this downtown spot holds a special place in my heart! We kicked things off with some delicious rock shrimp, hamachi, spicy tuna, crispy rice, miso butter oysters, and poke nachos! We also requested some freshly grated wasabi, which was incredible! To top it all off, the chef surprised us with a special Hamachi sashimi! I love visiting this place because everyone remembers you when you come often, and they always have amazing seasonal specials. First time visiting this sushi bar in the arts district, and we went during happy hour. The happy hour deal is 20% off your entire bill, which is honestly a fantastic deal. Between the two of us we spent a little over $100 so that was $20 off. The fish was fantastic, especially the yellowtail and salmon, very tender and delicious. The edamame was good, but very saucy which wasn't expected. The space is open and bright and our server was quick and everything came out quickly. My only complaint was the tonkatsu ramen, not because it was bad but because for $20 it definitely could have been better. I've had better at multiple places for less money. The noodles were slightly undercooked and the broth was less flavorful than I wanted. I would suggest skipping it and maybe trying some of the other dishes, but I'd definitely suggest the specialty sushimi and the nigiri! read more

Came in for a business dinner with a group of 7. It's a smaller place, but they were able to accommodate us, which was nice. Came based on a recommendation from a friend, and they were spot on. Everything we had was fresh and so tasty. We ordered quite a few apps for the table, edamame (both regular and spicy), Gyoza (both chicken and beef), Shishito peppers, Rock Shrimp Tempura. All were excellent! Everyone raved how good they were. For sushi, I got the Rock n Roll specialty roll, I can see why this would be a favorite or most ordered roll. So good! I also got the Yellowtail Serrano, which was so fresh. My colleagues all were very impressed with their orders. I finished my dinner with the cheesecake green tea and the mochi green tea. They are small but satisfied my sweet tooth. If you want to venture into a new, cooler spot in Vegas, venture here! Every thing we ordered came as small plates and shareable. We ordered 5 items and shared. All the food was incredible. You can tell they take time, quality and pride in what they put out. Yelp Review 2024 #2: I was a big fan of Yu-Or-Mi when they first opened. We would go here every month. And then, we took several months of not going. I'm not sure if they had a change in management but the quality has declined. Or maybe, opening a new location at the Durango Casino caused them to neglect this place. We came back recently and ordered our usual: Rock Shrimp Tempura, Safin Roll, Yu So Shellfish, Salmon Skin Roll, and Salmon Nigiri; we tried their Negi Toro for the first time. A few things got added on the menu and some were taken off the menu. We ordered uni nigiri but they didn't have any. Rock Shrimp Tempura: Shrimp slices, battered and fried. Served with Chipotle aioli. Flavorful, hot, and crunchy. The aioli is the perfect accompaniment to the shrimp. 4/5 Safin Roll: Shrimp tempura, seared ribeye, shiso, avocado, and chives. This roll has gotten smaller. 2/5 Yu So Shellfish: The menu describes this as "rock shrimp tempura, asparagus, romaine, avocado, topped with snow crab salad, tobiko, truffle oil". Back in the day, this roll had snow crab. Our most recent visit had surimi (imitation crab). Getting surimi for a $30 roll is a big ripoff! 1/5 Salmon Skin Roll: Salmon skin, gobo, kaiware, avocado, cucumber, with eel sauce. Salmon skin is dark when you fry it. I don't know what we got but it was light. It looked very sus. 2/5 Salmon Nigiri: Fish used in sashimi and sushi gets to room temperature when a good sushi chef properly shapes and prepares it using his hands that warms the fish. What I got was cold and rubbery salmon. Gross! 1/5 Negi Toro: Chu-toro, cucumber, avocado, wrapped in soy paper, topped with chopped toro, scallions, and tobiko. This tasted really fishy - not in a normal way but in a bad way. You can taste fresh fish vs fish you should throw away or feed the cats with. 1/5 To summarize, the huge decline in quality does not warrant another visit. You'll have dreams about this shrimp, let me tell you... Moving on to Sushi rolls... Roulette roll is a fun one for those who like spicy.. 1 roll is super spicy and the rest are more mild. Nothing too crazy, but a unique experience. Shrimp Tempura & Spider Rolls are super fresh, simple & tasty.. Much more elevated than a typical sushi spot. The Safin roll is my personal favorite! As popular as sushi is, the downtown options to get your fix are surprisingly limited. Enter Yu-or-Mi: cute name, convenient location, and a creative a la carte menu. They're typically open for late afternoon/dinner service only and offer lunch service on weekends (Friday-Sunday). I've been by a couple of times now for a solo dinner at the sushi bar and HH with friends. The memorable items I've had include the truffle tako app and their namesake Yu or Mi roll. Fish was fresh, food was out fast, and service was friendly. The menu has a more upscale, modern take on sushi and they often feature special rolls on social media for discounts or HH. The space is on the small side and prices are a bit high - seems like it would be a good date night spot. Reservations suggested. I've made a mental note to go back for their tuna caprese and roulette roll. read more

This review is for the one that is NOT at the Durango casino. I guess there is a mix up because the location outside of Durango does not serve sushi. First of all. Food is amazing. Some of the best pad Thai I had in awhile. Tom yum soup was great as well. Service was excellent. I went here with a party of 12 and a baby and they were able to accommodate easily. I never had to ask for a refill, the waitress was always there to help with anything we needed. Bathrooms were clean. Parking is okay if you know where to go. Overall my experience was 10/10 and will be coming back here. read more

Brought my dad here for his birthday/Father's Day celebration and while we did have a good time and the food was good, I can see why some people have certain complaints. Walking in, we were greeted immediately, which is nice given how tight the entrance is. We sat next to one of the wooden screens that act as a hallway for the front door and it did work very well and we didn't feel like we were sitting right next to the front door. The décor in here is pretty modern and chic and the bar is very pretty. The chairs are shockingly comfortable. Our main server and the others who touched our table were very nice but a little inattentive. We asked for suggestions and if we had ordered enough food for the 4 of us and the answer was a pretty lackluster, "Sure." with no answer for suggestions. Our main server spent too much of his time kind of just monitoring the room at the bar, instead of physically checking on tables. We wanted another round of cocktails and we could not flag him down. By the time we ordered said cocktails, we were pretty much done eating so we were finishing them after the bill had been paid and someone came by and took my unfinished drink and said bye. Wow! I'm still upset about it. The food is ok. The quality of the fish and other ingredients were great and the attempt at being creative and modern is strong. However, I think execution is a bit lackluster. There were a lot of small things like the citrus salmon had no tang to it. It was all one note, so while ok, it wasn't anything to write home about. The also seemed to be a real lack of seasoning/salt on a lot of the dishes. The best thing we got was the sashimi platter.
