It wasn't super busy on a Tuesday evening, but it is also the summer so there aren't many students around. We got seated fairly quickly and the workers were nice. The curry pork loin katsu was pretty good and the portion size was enough for a full meal. The katsu was super crispy and delicious! I also got a rainbow roll and a piece of sake salmon. I will say the prices for the fish do feel a bit pricey when compared to other places in the area. The sake salmon was quite large and fatty, so I think it can make up for the price. The fish I tried all were flavorful and delicious, so I enjoyed the food overall. The servers were nice but they never noticed to refill our water even though we were there for a while. For me, Yu Sushi & Katsu was a solid 4 stars. Dropping in the restaurant was almost empty. We ordered via the QR code menu at the table (which syncs per table if on different phones) and our food came out fairly quickly. Because they didn't have avocado maki on the menu I ordered the veggie roll and shrimp tempura rolls and although the shrimp tempura ended up being quite good, the veggie roll was made up of fermented (not fresh) veggies, and strangely included mushrooms. All in all, the service was prompt and the miso soup quite tasty, but their background music is one repeating song and when paired with the limited veggie menu, it's just not the experience I tend to seek out when I have sushi. read more

We came here after a Dr's appointment and had: Pork Katsu Curry This was legitimately everything I needed on the first really cold, rainy day of the fall. The pork was cooked beautifully. Not greasy or dry. Perfect. The rice was nice and bouncy, and the curry was delicious and thick. I asked for extra sauce because some places skimp, and our server made sure that I had enough for my katsu and my rice. I was very happy. The meal came with a miso soup that was perfectly savory, and a small cabbage salad to help break up the thickness of the curry. I was SO happy. Vegetarian Nabeyaki Udon My kiddo enjoyed this a lot and ate every bit of it. I did not get to try it. Lol I really liked the atmosphere of the place. It was quiet and calm. The plate arrangement was the most artful I've seen. Especially because this place is roughly in the same price range as other Japanese restaurants, it made me feel really impressed. Meals at "fancy" restaurants aren't as beautifully arranged as the plates here are. The only thing that I didn't like, though I understand the need for in the udistrict is ordering on your phone as opposed to through the server.
