    Chicken Katsu
    Myrnie T.

Very delicious! Food was great, if a bit salty, and perfect for a drizzly spring day. I had the curry udon chicken katsu because I didn't want to make a choice and it had everything in it haha. Katsu was super crisp, udon was bouncy, rice was perfect. He ordered the chicken katsu don and I'm not certain we got the right dish because he ended up with udon and katsu? Regardless, it was delicious.

    Spicy white tuna poke.

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant. Both occasions have been very pleasant. The first time I came around 7pm, it was packed. Today I arrived at 5pm and I am the only person here (both visits were on random weekdays). I ordered the spicy white tuna poke and a nigori - both were very tasty. The restaurant is clean and the staff have been very friendly.

It wasn't super busy on a Tuesday evening, but it is also the summer so there aren't many students around. We got seated fairly quickly and the workers were nice. The curry pork loin katsu was pretty good and the portion size was enough for a full meal. The katsu was super crispy and delicious! I also got a rainbow roll and a piece of sake salmon. I will say the prices for the fish do feel a bit pricey when compared to other places in the area. The sake salmon was quite large and fatty, so I think it can make up for the price. The fish I tried all were flavorful and delicious, so I enjoyed the food overall. The servers were nice but they never noticed to refill our water even though we were there for a while. Otherwise they were great!

Very clean, very fresh food. Friendly service and excellent suggestions! Sushi tacos were great!-two different styles. Not yet on menu! Nice upscale but unimposing decor, pleasant background music. Terrific flavors. Sushi tacos were my favorite! Hope they make it to menu soon!

    Caterpillar roll and Inari

The gentleman at the counter was very kind and welcoming as well as highly efficient. We just grabbed some take out and it was ready pretty quickly. The ambiance was nice and spacious too. I had the caterpillar roll and Inari and then my partner had the shrimp tempura roll. We both liked our rolls and felt the quality was good and fresh and traveled quite well. It was also well packaged.

We ordered the west coast roll and the dynamite roll, as well as 2 salmon sushi. The salmon sushi was okay but wouldn't recommend - it was served with a lot of rice so we couldn't really taste the salmon very well. West coast roll was pretty good - salmon quality was to be expected at the price point. I really enjoyed the dynamite roll. Food came out quickly, so if you're in the area craving sushi and want it fast, Yu Sushi would be a good option!

A Chinese family opened this Japanese restaurant. The food was surprisingly good. I like the baked sushi, which is called Lion King. The katsu and sashimi was just okay.

    Udistrict food walk - katsu
    Louise F.

Came here for the udistrict food walk although this place seemed to participate unofficially. We couldn't help but wait in the line for a $2 katsu. Even with so much going on that day, the people working the orders were fast and pleasant. The bang for buck was 100% there, was a solid little strip of katsu, and the katsu sauce on it was tangy and not too sweet either.

My new favorite sushi place on the Ave! I will say that there's not much variety to the rolls, but overall fresh tasting and delicious sushi rolls and a nice interior!

Good sushi spot on the ave, just a nice spot to check out and sit down if you're craving sushi on campus. Nothing to write home about, the sushi was good. I want to try the udon and katsu/curry next. The table next to me ordered the curry and it looks delicious! Cute decorations and the lady in the front was very nice.

    Curry Chicken Katsu.

Came here on a friday night and it was not busy at all. Ordered the curry chicken katsu and it was exactly what I wanted. The curry was strong which went well with the rice and the chicken. Side salad was decent. Food came out quickly and the service was good. They gave me a container of water for the table.

The way they worded this really rubbed me the wrong way. First, I've never been give a time limit at a restaurant that was not all-you-can-eat. Second, the amount of time I spend in your restaurant heavily depends on the speed of your service (spoiler alert: it was not fast). They then sat us at the most uncomfortable table I have ever had the displeasure of dining at. The table was low and the seats were so deep that I could not rest my back on them while eating. Definitely brought the mood down further. Food was a hit or a miss, no in between. Hit: Garlic short ribs (my partner said these were tender and a good portion for happy hour), Poke sushi roll (good fish quality and taste) Misses: First Ave Roll (sauce was just walloped on top, weak flavors), veggie and shrimp tempura (heavy and soggy batter), pink lychee cooler (artificially sweet with no strong lychee flavor), green tea tiramisu (photo speaks for itself). For all the rave reviews, I was pretty let down. Thankfully, we went during happy hour so we didn't pay full price. I would not visit here again.

Moonraker was one of the rolls we got. I highly recommend it! In addition to that we got an order of the Spicy Tofu... again delicious and made an excellent side with our sushi! I got a hard alcohol I wasn't used to getting. It was fun and it was quite good! It was Shochu which is a distilled beverage and involves sweet potato. If memory serves I got the one with sweet potato and pear. Very different but very good. It had a nice dryness to it. To wrap it all up we got some deep fried mochi ice cream. It held up nicely to being a great finish to a very high quality meal. We are definitely coming back!

I am rating this as a 4 but likely would have given 3.5 if half stars were an option. We made our reservations a few weeks in advance being sat in the dining room. The three of us ordered the omakase and the food was delicious. Each piece was delectable and glorious. For food alone I'd given it a 5. Ambiance was nothing spectacular nor would set it apart from other sushi restaurants. It looked and felt like most sushi restaurants that offer omakase in the area. The service is where our dining experience, surprisingly, fell the most flat. Our waitress was a timid young woman who seemed very overwhelmed, speaking very quietly and quickly which caused us to ask her to repeat herself a few times. She had a script and if she stuck to the script she was fine but if we asked any question she wasn't prepared for, like asking about sake, she locked up. She also didn't appear to be receiving much support either. Questions regarding the sake were funneled through her to someone else who would relay the questions through her. The back and forth was enough I questioned why this person didn't come with our waitress to assist her. The explanations on the omakase dishes were given quietly or not given at all. It was just a bit atypical for omakase style restaurants in the area.

The yellowtail had some citrus on it, but it was not too overwhelming. Their salmon's was perfect and topped off with sesame seeds. The service was okay and the place itself was a bit vacant.
