We really wanted to love this place. The ambience is off the charts - the place is absolutely gorgeous. You feel like you've stepped into a palace with the chandeliers and the decor. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful and recommended dishes for us. Our cocktails and our starter, the octopus, were amazing. Unfortunately our entrees fell flat. My husband's steak was just not good, very tough and almost inedible. My seafood dish looked nice but was just ok. The prices were pretty high for mediocre entrees. After the great start on the service, we thought they might offer something nice because they knew we weren't happy, but they seemed eager for us to leave, which didn't feel so great. Place was not busy at all, got a table for 4 right away. I didn't care for all of our food choices though. The drinks were great! My husband and I split the chips de guajiro - glad we tried this. The chips and plantains were awesome, and the dips were interesting. We also split the vaca Frita. The steak was overdone, but the lime salsa was good. My first meal in Miami Beach was not a disappointment at all - after a long delayed flight from freezing Chicago with nothing but airplane peanuts in me, walking into this restaurant was a refreshing and beautiful start to a vacation. The decor is stunning and deserves its own review for the amazing work the restaurant owners had put into getting it up there. But I'm not decorations reviewer - this is about the food and service. The servers were all so friendly and will always greet you with a big smile that say, "I hope you're having a great time!" Now, I'm forgetting the dish names off the top of my head and they're a bit hard to recall, so I'll do it by some obvious descriptors in the pictures. The nuts and chips in the cup were a savory treat to keep us busy before the main course came out. It was a nice, unique Peruvian snack that I've never had. The corn and nut with seafood mix was the traditional meal you see from what I've heard. It comes with a sour taste and the seafood had soaked in the flavor. This place was a solid introduction into the cuisine available in Miami, and I would definitely return. read more

When my fellow Yelpers rave, I listen. Wanted to get a taste of Cuba in a fairly upscale setting. And that's what you get at YUCA105. There is outdoor seating if you care to dine Al fresco. But we opted for indoor because it's gorgeous inside. Classy boutique-like decor. Food-delicious! The Yuca and plátano chips were a nice, light alternative to bread. Extensive drink menu. The menu is Cuban-Peruvian and ceviche seems to be boss here. We didn't order it but my Vaca Frita was seasoned so nicely. Make sure to cut into small bites though. Hubby got Lechón asado which was excellent, so tender and the flavor...yum. Service-YUCA lost a point for service. Hostesses were great, it our waiter liked to disappear on us. He took our orders in a timely manner but didn't return to refill drinks or to check on us. It was hard to flag him down as he stayed clear of our dining room for most of our meal. I noticed the other waiters were on the ball though. If in the area, we would love to return for the delicious food. Hopefully we won't get that waiter again though, we don't want him playing Keep Away from our table again. read more

Upon entering, you can tell the owner wanted to make this a great experience with the fun decor. We were back to try Yuca 105 as we've loved the sister restaurant Cviche105. As I was in SouthBeach again I just had to had dinner there again. And another wonderful experience with delicious cuban and peruvian cuisine! The restaurant interior is really classy and the service is great. Food is decent, definitely better than other restaurants I tried in this touristy area but not spectacular. We had a great dinner at Yuca 105. We ordered the ceviche as an app and it was scrumptious! So fresh! I ordered the ropa vieja and my husband ordered churrasco a lo pobre. I don't know how we had room for dessert but so glad we went for it. We tried the Sinfonia de cafe cubano. The flan mixed with the coffee was so good!! Yuca is a beautiful, semi-casual yet chandeliered restaurant in Miami Beach, not far from South Beach or Española Way. We chose it because of the Peruvian-Cuban fusion menu, though when we arrived were surprised to see what seemed like Asian influences blended in as well. Hospitality was wonderful and our waitress explained every ingredient we weren't familiar with very patiently. I would say though that the appetizer special was the best part of the meal, featuring baked plantain, kale, and fish over dry ice (photo below). The main dishes were good but the downside (if you call this a downside!) was that the portions were HUGE. May be good for a local but as we were tourists with a short stay it was difficult to take and keep leftover food, and some of it didn't keep too well the next day. read more

After a long 5 hour drive from key west to Miami, we were dropped off right outside of Yuca 105. The perfect place to fill our empty stomachs. The inside and outside is nicely lit up with vines and chandeliers carefully placed around the restaurant to create a classy, but naturalistic vibe. Order: -tartar en playa guanabo: diced up salmon, tuna, and avocado marinated in a sweet mango and guava dressing. I was surprised by how delicious this composition was. - imma maki: an octopus sushi roll that was paired with a nice tempura shrimp crunch and savory dressing. The wrap was think and easily digestible. The whole dish was very light. I could've eaten five of these rolls. - The fish special for the week. Need I say anything about the dish, it looks just as good as it tasted. The fish was fresh, crunchy, and full of meat. The fried rice was lightly salted and the sweet shrimp n vegetable blend were great additions. Overall, 5/5 restaurant for their great food and top tier service. The waitress came around every 10 mins or so to refill our waters and check up on us. No wonder this is a 5 star restaurant. Cant wait to come here again when I visit Miami in the future. read more

Live music played as we ate and beautiful outdoor dining was offered as well. Everyone here was so on top of service and very attentive. Wonderful experience! Not being knowledgeable of Peruvian cuisine, I asked a lot of questions and took recommendations. I was told this was a great place for Ceviche, so ordering that was a given. It did not disappoint! I ordered the Traditional Ceviche with Seafood as opposed to just fish. So good! Since I needed just a little more food, I got the Huaman Lee. It's like sashimi in a sweet sauce. It too was great. This restaurant is right across from another Peruvian place, so if they both can survive, they must be doing something right. I loved the outside table and the service here was exceptional! I didn't see outside seating at the other, so that makes Yuca stand out on this beautiful night. Read many reviews and definitely wanted to try the Asian/Latin fusion rolls- the shrimp tempura roll was good but too much creamy sauce that covered the flavor, loved the Cuban roll with plantains and bean purée. My friend loved the fish broth stew- very rich and flavorful and the Cuban pork was good.
