Went for dinner with 4 friends. First off, they only gave us a complimentary small chip basket. we requested a second one since it was 5 of us but they said they would have to charge us. Next, we ordered drinks and it took over 20 minutes to receive them we think our waiter forgot about them. The drink with the cheese foam was quite interesting; I can see ordering for the experience but they should serve it with a spoon or straw or else you'll never taste the drink trying to eat off the foam first lol We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer which was ok. It didn't come with any chips or anything on the side which we found odd. I ordered the lomo saltado for my entree which was really tasty and a good portion. I forgot to order my egg over hard and asked the waiter if they could cook it a bit more for me. She said she would ask but again, I think she forgot because about 15 minutes passed before she came back to take the egg. Dessert was probably the highlight and maybe the only thing I'd return for. Outstanding food and service. The grouper fish meal was recommended, and incredibly delicious. All staff were highly professional and aimed to please flawlessly. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the young lady who served, but I do remember she was petite, with dark shoulder length hair, and braces on her teeth. She was absolutely lovely. Answered all my questions and made excellent meal recommendations. The young gentleman who served water and utensils was on point. He helped make my dinner experience very enjoyable because he demonstrated extreme care in the way we offered refills, the utensils and answered questions to the level when he said, "Sir, let me call your server, I am not sure." The host lady that showed me to my table was also, super polite and professional. The restaurant itself was gorgeously decorated. It felt special to eat there. Came here to celebrate mine and a friend's birthday on a Friday night. Ambiance was beautiful and decor was on point, our drinks were very good as well! Ok this place is great!! Best yuca and ceviche in Miami City area. I was visiting Miami with my family and my bosses family, just occurred to me inviting them to a bit of Miami culture cuisine wouldn't hurt, came out to be the best decision and food we had all week long in Miami. You must order their trio ceviche and filled/top tostones, so yummy! Their drinks are also great, must have the guava mojito. Service and Ambiance were also very good and nice. However, the reason for rating is the awkward and bad experience of noticing how our shoes all started getting soaked and wet!!! Yes, a storm started, streets outside overflowed and somehow came down like a river into the restaurant!! ....it was definitely an experience we'll never forget, it was definitely embarrassing for us all so as it was out of our control, we decided to laugh about it all and crawl through the seats on our way out. So why the rating? ...the restaurant and/or manager could have at least come out to apologize! A discount for the inconvenience would have also been nice, but none happened, just the awkward uncomfortable feelings and disappointments were left. It was amazing WOW! experience with Yuca 105! We had a vacation for 7 days, and 3 times was there for dinner, despite from the beginning idea was to visit different places. But from the first our dinner we can't leave this place. First of all it was super delicious food ( tiradito and rolls will be for ever in my hurt, the same like lucuma dessert), people who work there provide us the best service and attention , design of this place is so beautiful in all details, with amazing music, create fantastic atmosphere. I have to say my lunch at Yuca 105 has been one of the best meals I've ever had in town. Excellent food and drinks. Very cool how they bring cuisine from different latin countries together. I would highly recommend the lomo dish as it's one of the main Peruvian dishes, the meat was so tender. The churrasco we got was not tender as the lomo was, which is not unusual when you get churrasco at a Peruvian place. Worst experience in South Beach. I don't understand all of the good reviews. Service and ambiance were nice and the cocktails were good. The food was almost inedible and wildly overpriced. The "special ceviche " must always be on special because they want to sell it and fail to mention its $95. Yes, you read that right. We were horrified when the bill came. It wasn't that good and p.s. don't eat shellfish from warm waters! The entrees were huge and just plain gross. They were all so salty as to be inedible. My husband and I split a grouper dish and it was mushy, salty and fishy. Even with splitting the appetizer between the 4 of us who dined there, one drink each, no dessert, the bill was $470. We decided on starting with the Octopus app- Revolution de Pulpo which ended up being the best octopus we have ever had! It was so tender and so flavorful that we are already planning our return for that alone. Luckily, the tartar en playa Guanabo, a refreshing twist on a common dish- the tuna, salmon, avocado and guava brought flavors to a new level with the coconut zest, mango salsa and marmalade. And most surprising was the outrageous translation of sushi with a Peruvian/Cuban flair. Never before have we had roasted pork in a maki roll but it rivaled any other sushi we have had before! The best apps we had were the coco chupao and the inka maki, and the best entrees were the churrasco a lo pobre and the pargo a lo macho - but there was nothing bad or even mediocre. Even though we had close proximity, the drinks came out slow. We started off with a mojito and the airmail. To be honest after seeing the ceviche being served for other guests, I would have stuck with that instead even though the dish was good, it was on the smaller side. She then suggested the pulpo appetizer and oh my! That was definitely the must eat dish. Packed with flavors and substance. We then ordered the croquettes and Inka Maki. These were amazing. The only thing lacking was a sauce for the croquettes. We then finished with the flan after the waitress suggested it. Definitely the best flan we have ever had. The espresso flavoring just hit different and we loved it. The added live music made the ambiance amazing too. Make sure to pay attention when bill comes, gratuity is already added but we decided to add some more. WOW !!!! Zero stars if i could. Food was below average. Server - Andy was nice. But then .... It came time to pay and apparently we were all declined?! My group pulled out 4 different cards called all of our banks to see why the bill wasn't going through we really tried working with the restaurant to see why this wasn't working. Long story short they had to call the manager out to see if it was their machine and he was extremely unprofessional saying that it's me and my friends banks/cards and not his and he told me to get out of his face it was extremely unprofessional i told him kindly that we are literally trying to pay with Amex / citi / visa / Mastercard and that we called the banks and they were on the phone with us saying they aren't seeing any charges on their end. Anyways, she finally told us let's try another machine and TA-DA IT WORKED. Because it was never our method of payments it was their machine that was not working. I'm appalled by the lack of professionalism and hostile attitude that this restaurant manager showed to 4 ladies on vacation just enjoying their time. After the payment went through - i told the server to bring him out and she said that "he said he's busy in the back he refuses to come out" Wow this is how people run a business in Miami? I ordered the Tacu Tacu Mero Mero Macho. It features grilled grouper over a crispy lima bean, rice, peppers cake. I had never had grouper before, it tasted like halibut. It was cooked perfectly, flavorful, not too dry, and it blended beautifully with the crispy cake and had lots of other assorted seafood, including scallops, mussels &, calamari with a spicy a little sweet sauce. It was priced at $39.95 and I paired it with a Pinot noir from California at $13 a glass. On recommendation from my server, I had a delicious Sherry from Spain for dessert.
