    Steak sandwich

Support this friendly local business that just started. I enjoyed my sandwich but they have much more food to offer from the Yucatán. I highly recommend!

Excellent panuchos to go. The staff is very nice, and covid safe! New business, and thrilled to support them and delicious Yucatán food.

Where do I even begin. I'd been hearing about this place all over social media, so I had to finally…read moretry it. We came early, and I'm glad we did because the line started forming about 30 minutes before opening. By the time they opened, it was already around the corner. The place has an authentic Mexico feel, from the look of the restaurant to the smells coming from the kitchen. The staff were incredible, but one of my favorite parts was being able to watch the whole process right in front of me. It definitely build up my appetite. I ordered two tacos de asada, and honestly, two were more than enough. These tacos were big and packed with meat. They do things a little differently here they used pico de gallo instead of the usual onion and cilantro. I asked them to add the onion and cilantro anyway, and when they came out, I was impressed. The steak was tender, juicy, and had a flavor I honestly hadn't experienced in a taco before. It had this deep, savory, smoky taste that felt completely different from the tacos I'm used to getting in Chicago. The meat itself was so well seasoned that it could easily stand on its own. The freshness from the pico balanced the richness of the steak, while the salsa brought a nice kick that stayed with you after every bite. Simple, but so much flavor packed into each taco. I'm really glad I finally got the chance to try La Taqueria.

Went to La Taqueria for lunch during our San Francisco vacation. First of all, had to make a…read morelengthy line outside to order. They have a hostess with a podium just outside the door taking orders. We ordered and indicated that we wanted to eat in, in which case we continued to wait to be seated. They have someone in charge of seating people as well (much needed). This place is apparently a landmark. Old fashioned, fast paced, efficient, small, authentic, mostly delicious! Tried several of their tacos, the chicken quesadilla and a burrito. The burrito was delightful. Plenty of steak but still balanced and fresh. The steak tacos are also meaty and good. The meat is well seasoned and, being authentic, it is allowed to be the prominent ingredient. I would similarly describe the chicken and even the beef tongue tacos. What I loved the most, however, was the beef head taco. Immense and incredible flavor beefy flavor, not to mention that moat restaurants wouldn't dare having it on the menu. By far the best taco I've ever had. If I get the chance to visit La Taqueria again that's all I want to eat. Unfortunately there were also two items that I found to be disappointing. One was the quesadilla. Even though the chicken is good it was very greasy. The other was the pork taco. Didn't love the flavor and, again, a bit on the fatty side for me, which is not often my opinion on a pork dish. All in all, if you want to experience authentic tacos, go here. And... live a little! Order the beef head taco.
