    Must try!! Hazelnut Shaved Ice
    Janet T.

My hubby and I were having lunch at the Curry Club in Kearny Mesa and we wanted to find a place to have dessert and drinks at so we searched on YELP and found a new and adorable place called YUKI YUKI... AMBIANCE: 10/10 I loved the interior design very much. From the cute water fountain to the customized logo on the wall. The color scheme was very light green and has nice earthy feel... SERVICE: 10/10 Audrey and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming! She explained that the tea was possibly brewed 7 times. I'm not a tea expert so I'm not sure if that's the correct terminology but, she mentioned about the tea going through 7 rounds! So the flavor of the tea is A LOT stronger and more flowery than other places!!! PISTACHIO JASMINE TEA: 10/10 The best I ever had! Wow! It was so fragrant and flowery!! You have to try it to believe it!! HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE SHAVED ICE: 10/10 We finished it!! It was so good!! It was not ICY but, it had so much more flavor and texture. I thought it was better than bingsu... YUKI YUKI IS A MUST TRY!!!!!

Found this place after we had dinner around the corner at Coco's which I think is crazy because 1 mile down the street is Koli-bar with the same boba and kakigori concepts. We wanted to try something new and after perusing their menu, I'm so glad we chose Yuki Yuki! There was only one girl behind the counter and she was apologetic for the wait even after we ordered at the kiosk which really wasn't a big deal. The drinks were all amazing, my husband, kids and myself enjoyed all our drinks I'm not the biggest fan of matcha and not a fan of that overly sweet, artificial matcha flavor, but their matcha was definitely on point! Drinks were refreshing and not overly sweet, we all voted the mango to be our favorite. We will definitely revisit again to try new things or order some kakigori (dine in only).

All I can say is wow and I haven't stopped saying wow. This might replace 3cat for me and my love for 3cat has been strong! The matcha boba had strong great matcha flavor that isn't at all diluted by the ice with the mochi topping is delicious. We got the coffee kaguri and wow, it was a home run. It took a bit of time for the order to come out but so worth it. It kept surprising us with what's inside. It has the pork floss, coffee flavor, jelly, and more. We will be back to try the others!

We got the mango shaved ice and it was really good and a big portion! Granted it does cost almost $20 but the inside of the shaved ice had mango custard and biscoff crumble (no it's not pork floss even though it looks similar). The ice was nice and fluffy, and there was even watermelon pieces in the middle which was an interesting addition, though unnecessary. There was definitely enough flavor. Only con is that it took a while for the shaved ice to be made. They were able to make all the drinks pretty quickly but shaved ice was a slow process. My friend got a coco jasmine drink with pistachio cream and it was really good! The cream had good pistachio flavor as well. Overall solid dessert addition to this plaza of convoy.

The coconut mango frost is my favorite addiction here. The avocado mango is also good. I appreciate how they measure the ingredients here, that way the taste is always consistent. The drinks are not overly sweet and even with the optical adjustments, they're still enjoyable. There's only a large tablet system for ordering, which is located to the right hand side upon entering. It's an odd location to place it because people start to stand in all directions. There's no ordering directly with the staff but they're kind enough to answer questions. I've had a few teas here but they're not my favorite. There's also shareable kakigori (shaved ice) available. I think because of this, their floors are usually dirty. As for parking, depending on day and time, it can be limited since they share a lot with other establishments.

I had such a great experience here trying the shaved ice! What brought my attention was how some shaved ice had pork floss inside and I was curious on how that would work. The osmanthus rice flavor went really well with the savoryness of the pork floss. They mix it in with biscoff crumbs which made it a perfect combo of sweet and salty. The shaved ice itself was very light and fluffy, making the big dessert be much easier to eat and not feel so heavy. Since we werent sure if wed like the pork floss, we got a safe option, being the sakura lychee. Apparently they import the sakura from Japan making it real and not too artificial tasting. I LOVED the lychee cream in it, it was so good with the sakura and added another element to it- also loved the watermelon and red bean! We were worried that our group of three wouldnt be able to finish it since it was big, but everything went down fast as it was so good and addicting. Service was super nice! Do note that shaved ice takes time to make perfect!

Out with one boba tea shop and in with another... that's what happened at this Convoy District suite as Yuki Yuki opened about a month ago now. Gone were the baby blue and bubble gum pink colors of its predecessor. They were replaced by olive green and orange tones. There were some small round top tables along with box chairs and bench seating, however the setup wasn't conducive for large groups to hang out. A menu screen hung on the wall to the right as you entered the suite. A self-service ordering tablet was located beneath it. At the time of my visit during the soft opening, there were several items that were unavailable. I only learned about this when I asked one of the workers because there was a mismatch between what was shown on the screen and what was displayed on the tablet. Someone should have synchronized the offerings between the two media to minimize any confusion. Mochi ice cream and shaved ice made up the left column of the menu. The latter were each more than $15, but the serving size was sufficient for two to four people. The drinks were listed in the other two columns with coffee creations, fruit teas, milk teas, and Oriental teas. Passionfruit was one of the unavailable ingredients, therefore I couldn't order anything with that component. My pick was the Coconut Mango Frost. The item was a smoothie that consisted of mango chunks, signature milk, coconut milk, Qi Xun jasmine tea, and a cream top. The sweetness was reasonable at the regular sugar level. Ice was required to make the drink. Because of the mango presence, I didn't request boba pearls to be added. It took about ten minutes to prepare which wasn't too bad as they were not busy that evening. I enjoyed the Coconut Mango Frost enough to give a four star rating for my experience at Yuki Yuki.

    Uji Matcha Red Bean

Tried the kakigori and got the Osmanthus & Floral Rice and the Uji Matcha Red Bean flavors. The Osmanthus & Floral Rice was super unique and probably my favorite of the two. I also really loved the texture of the shaved ice--it was so light and fluffy! Both came with some interesting toppings inside, including what seemed like pork floss and Biscoff crumbs, which added a nice texture and flavor.

Feels like this location is always cycling through new dessert spots. I do like shaved ice though so we came here to check it out for dessert. By the time we arrived they only had some flavors left but we went with the coconut mango shaved ice. Overall, it was not overly sweet which we appreciated.

Love seeing a new boba/shaved ice place in the area! You order from a kiosk (there's only one, so there was a bit of a wait). But our drinks came out pretty quickly, which was great! I got a Jade Jasmine Milk Tea with the brown sugar boba, while my fiancé tried the Lemon Americano. His drink was really tasty and unique; it wasn't too sweet, and the lemon didn't overpower the espresso. My milk tea was also really fragrant and not too sweet either. The brown sugar boba wasn't the best, though. The texture was good, but the boba itself was very bland - I didn't taste any brown sugar at all - almost as if they forgot to add it? Overall, we would definitely come back to try their other drinks and shaved ice next time! As for the ambiance, the shop itself was really cute. However, we noticed that while it was only 70-ish degrees outside, the inside of the store was really hot and stuffy. It would've been a great place to hang out if the inside temp wasn't so warm.

Just visited the one time and had the one drink but it was delicious and I definitely plan on returning to try more. I almost ordered one of the ice creamochis but that's just way too many calories in one sitting. As it was, I got brain freeze in my car slurping down the coconut mango frost. I literally walked back to my car, sipping and think oh my god, that IS good. Be warned, huge parking lot but deceptively busy. You may need to fight someone to park :)

The shaved ice dessert is the best thing I've ever had in my mouth. Lol The dessert takes a little time to prepare. Apparently they ship the ice over from Japan. That is crazy. It's like eating a magical fluffy cloud of snow. Melts in your math. So yummy

First experience with Japanese shave ice and it definitely lived up to the hype. The portion sizes are massive - sharing size for 2-3 people each. The coconut mango was my favorite with a surprise filling in the middle. The matcha one had a red bean filling that was tasty. The ice does melt quickly and it took about 25-30 minutes to make our order on a Wednesday night.

Very busy friday/weekend nights, lines usually long but if you go weekdays it's better. the snow is made with real ingredients unlike other places that use powders/syrups for flavor. The blocks of snow are already flavored (think of it like a big block or ice cream, just shaved in layers). Service is also generally good! I would recommend getting any dairy based snow with condensed milk layered! it brings out the flavor. the non dairy flavors are like sorbet but also very tasty (i like the lychee or super lemon which tastes like frozen lemonade). if you pick a build your own bowl, it's weighed (snow or softserve) after you get toppings. I notice it's usually between $5-$10 obviously dependent on weight but the minimum is 4.50 so if you are below that, they'll just charge 4.50. I'd recommend this place if you want a lighter sweet treat! Other places can be heavy but because this is shaved, it's easier on the tummy. they do also have waffle creations that seem good for couples to share~ (my favorite is the strawberry shorty, it has cheesecake bites and fresh strawberries, the waffle, and vanilla softserve). they have taiyaki too but it's not like somi somi where there's icecream inside, it's just filled or plain (the nutella one is really good). also their thai tea drink is really good

I do think the sweet cream complimented it very nice and I liked it all when I mixed the ice cream in. The blend was extremely pleasant.
