I got a delivery from this restaurant last Thursday night. I ordered the ground beef kabob, meat pie, and cheesecake. After receiving the delivery I noticed that I didn't receive the cheesecake. So, I called them that night and mentioned that I didn't receive the cheesecake. The person who picked up the phone apologized and said he made a mistake and that he will refund me for me. I called them again yesterday because I didn't hear back from them, nor did I get refund. Also the meat pie isn't pie. It's meat samosa. The rice and ground beef kabob was ok, nothing special. Found this place looking for open late dining. It's okay, however if you like this kind of food you might think it's great! I don't know what I was expecting, but just know that different locales have different flavors and ways of doing things, even if dishes share the same name. This is NOT the kabobs and butter chicken I'm accustomed to from the Afghan, Persian, or IndoPak places. This place offers soupy style spinach and tough rugged bread meant to survive the elements and strenuous demands of desert terrains. The rice and chicken were okay, so was the salad. But the butter chicken tasted nothing of the world famous dish served around the globe. There was no creamy or sweet sauce, and lacked any hint of fenugreek. Their guava juice was really good- and it was clearly fresh squeezed fresh pressed juice like stated on the menu. I have also had the nutella shake which I did not really like. The cheese pie is good- it's like a middle eastern pizza but the dough is actually better than most pizza places. The ground beef kabob sandwich was decent, with a different type of white sauce than what is used at most kabob places and halal guys. But this sauce was actually better than the standard white sauce offered at most places. I'm not sure what exactly they put in it but it is somehow better. Their "meat pie" is actually a samosa which I did not like. It is misleading since Middle Eastern restaurants generally do have an actual meat pie dish- and it's totally different than a meat filled samosa. Additionally, their samosas are just way too greasy. I had to throw out the remaining two after forcing myself to eat one of them. The ground beef kabob platter was fine, but the rice has a different aroma and flavor to it- I did not like the rice. It had certain spices and flavors in it that I dont think go well with beef and the white sauce. The rice here is not like the brown or white rice you may find at other kabob restaurants. Additionally I dont know if the bread here was old or its the method of cooking the bread, but the bread is very hard and dry and tough feeling. So on the kabob sandwich- the bread was actually the worst part, while everything else was fine. At many places the bread can be the best part of a sandwich like this. The baklava is standard baklava, I believe it is packaged and store bought, same as the baklava found at costco or elsewhere. I would come here again mostly due to their fresh juice menu items- it is unusual to find a fresh squeezed guava juice like this. Even when eating, a woman came in and had to call into the kitchen to have someone come take her order. She even apologized for having to get their attention, which really she shouldn't have had to. Third, even though we dined in, we still got a pack of plastic utensils to eat with (the kind you get with take out) and water in styrofoam cups. Guess they really want to limit doing dishes. Barely edible, rubbery, and chewy. The salad, usually full of flavorful lettuce, tomato and onion, is now replaced by a few leafs of lettuce drenched in dressing. Overall, pretty disappointed, as this place was so good. First time I've never been able to finish my meal from here. The rice was ok. Decent kabob, size is smaller than our usual kabob place but we couldn't get it delivered quickly so we opted to try this place based on quick Uber eats delivery. We tried the grape leaves, meat samosa, spinach, chick peas, chicken kabob platter and chicken shawarma platter. Food came quick and was still piping hot; my wife said the grape leaves were good, not the best but not terrible; she would have appreciated a yogurt sauce or something to eat with them. The meat samosa was really bland and lacked flavor and spice so that was disappointing. The chicken shawarma was really good! I could do without the parsley or whatever the garnish on top was as it seemed like a lot, but the meat was tender and flavorful; the kabob was ok; nothing incredible but our daughter crushed almost two pieces; so it's definitely toddler approve. I remember your chicken shawarma wraps being filled with juicy, well-seasoned and marinated chicken, loaded with fresh lettuce, ample amount of pickles, and a delicious creamy garlic yogurt sauce, and your hummus special that was topped with a generous amount of the same shawarma, drizzled with sriracha. I ordered the two items that I fondly remember being super delicious - however, this time around, the food was just not edible. The chicken shawarma wrap, even wrapped in the foil to contain the heat, was not hot - I'm thinking that the chicken was just reheated or it was already cooked and in ready-to-serve form; it was super dried out, even for me, and seemed to have used a different part of the chicken; also, the marinade/seasoning tasted different, and it had an unpleasant taste to it. While there was a generous amount of chicken in the wrap, there was hardly any cucumbers, tomatoes, freshly dressed lettuce, the pickled veggies, and no red onions. T____T The garlic sauce also seemed to be of a different recipe - it has more of a heavy dill taste to it, which I'm not a fan of, and didn't complement the wrap well at all. T____T The hummus appetizer, which I was pretty excited about, was just not good. The hummus itself was thick and creamy, but didn't have much seasoning to it. It was topped with the same, super dried-out, off-seasoned chicken. Instead of the sriracha that usually came drizzled on this dish, it was actually topped with sambal sauce instead! Ok 1st. the raggedy burnt down old Mercedes parked in the parking lot. What's up with that? That was a real turn off and if it wasn't for my BF I would've turned around and left. There are a lot of kabob places in the area. Some are good, some not so good, and then there is Yummy Kabob... The name says it all. First they care about the quality of the cuts of meat they use. When it comes to chicken, chicken is chicken. The biggest difference between the places is the marinade they season the chicken with. My family's favorite has always been Grill Kabob. The chicken is great and the rice is amazing. But where Yummy is different is with the beef and lamb... Most places, including Grill Kabab. The beef and Lamb are almost like shoe leather, no very tender, way overcooked, which ya know, the bad cut of meat would be better if they did not over cook it. Yummy, first bite of lamb on the kabab, I was in heaven. The lamb had a little bit of fat which fat = flavor and it was tender. It was cook medium well for the most part, a few pieces were more medium. Same with the beef. The quality, nothing else compares. Great cut of beef and cooked medium to medium well again and boy the flavor of each are off the charts. Especially the lamb. Getting Lamb at Grill Kabab, I might as well order shoe leather well same for their beef. Its overcooked, tough and not great. The rice at Yummy is good. Honestly, kinda prefer Grill Kabab, but then again the rice here has some added things, maybe basil or something that gives it a very good flavor, its not as fluffy and tender as Grill Kabab, but the flavor is great. The naan bread. Let me tell you a story. I got a lamb kabab one night for myself and my daughter came up and asked me what I was eating, and I told her. I asked her if she wanted to try the bread, i said it was great, she said sure.. So I tore off a piece to give her and she tore off a bit from what I gave her, turned around and started to walk away as she ate the naan, only to turn around and say, wow, that is good and took the other piece I had given her. The Naan here is a little thicker than most places, it has a great consistency and the best naan bread around. This is my new favorite kabab place. What make it even better. I ordered there a second time, Got my daughter chicken and my wife beef and went to the store to pick it up and the people working there were so incredibly nice.
