Been meaning to hit up this spot for quite some time and I wish I got here sooner. The food was incredible. We ordered the enoki mushrooms. Never had anything like it. All dishes were made with a lot of flavor. Setting was also very cute. Felt like I was eating at someone's home. My only qualm was that for 2 people it was quite expensive. Especially for Buford highway standards.

Food was great and the service was friendly and quick. Only downside was my beers were served room temperature. Still, overall a nice place with tasty dishes, would come back for the food only

Got the beef and emoji mushroom soup, yummy spicy chicken, yummy spicy seafood pot and a beef pot and the fried eggplants. Will start off with the eggplants, it was fried very well but the seasoning was not quite there. Also thought there wasn't a lot of eggplant for the price. The amount of chili under it definitely made it seem like it was a lot. The beef and enoki mushroom soup packed a lot of flavor. But there really wasn't a lot of enoki mushrooms. The chicken was definitely my favorite! The seasoning was so good and it had the perfect amount of spice. The seafood pot was good! Had tons of shrimp and vegetables but not many other seafood options in there unfortunately. On the other hand, the beef pot was NOT worth it! There was maybe 7 thin slices of beef in there for $30. The rest was filled with vegetables to make the pot look like it was full. Overall, I feel like some of the dishes were hit or miss. The hits were definitely great but the misses were just lacking in ingredients. Seems like they skimped out on some of the dishes tbh.

Mid tasting sichuan food. Although it's not bad, there was nothing special or memorable about the food here and there was not a single stand our dish that we really enjoyed. Sadly, all of the food was missing that mala spice that we were craving too. Won't be coming back here.

Yummy Spicy truly lives up to its name! Having been to Yummy Spicy at least 6 to 8 times over the years, it really hard to find anything that isn't yummy and plenty of authentic Szechuan spice to heat up the palate. My wife and I have made this our go to lunch spot whenever we can get away from the office. Great food at great prices makes the lunch specials even more enticing. Lunch specials come with choice of fried rice or steamed, egg roll, and choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup. This review is coming after opting in for the sesame shrimp lunch special which was incredible. The shrimp were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of fresh breading to allow for a crunchy texture. The tofo vegetables lunch special is a mainstay for my wife and did not disappoint. Because we like a little spice, the Szechuan cold noodles are always an excellent way of getting just the right amount of heat without going too far. Both the egg drop and hot and soup soups are just the right complementary dishes to the meal, leaving an option for non-spicy with the egg drop or some heat with the hot and sour option. On prior visits, we got the Kung Pao chicken and tried the handcrafted teas, all of which were awesome. Customer service is always great and attentive. Can't wait to get some more yummy and spicy food again soon!

This was an amazingly delicious experience. The food, in my opinion, is very authentic and fresh. Everything we tried was well prepared and perfectly spiced. In addition, the service was attentive and quick. I absolutely will be back for another fantastic dinner here.

We haven't been to Yummy Spicy in a while since it's far from where we live but we took advantage of the lighter traffic to come on a weekday. We love this place because the owner is so nice and she is almost always on site. She's so friendly, just like everyone else who works here. She's takes great pride in her food and her family's business and it shows. The lunch specials are a great deal because they come with a choice of soup, rice, and an egg roll. We love their dumplings and always have an order of those as well. I had the eggplant in spicy garlic sauce and it was delicious. Be sure to ask for Chinese spice levels if you really want some heat. My husband ordered the Mongolian beef (he's not a fan of spice) and he enjoyed that as well. It is worth a trip from our part of town because the food and service are just that good. Now that we've rediscovered Yummy Spicy we will certainly come back more often!

Pretty decent. Good portion sizes. Lots of options on the menu. Mala dry pot could have been more spicy and flavorful. Lamb was good but the meat was kind of dry. Sour boiled fish was good. Rice was good. The water was good!

I still love this place and it's still just as delicious! Refer to my older review and copy/paste into this one too. We haven't had one meh dish during any of our visits, everything is always well made and the service is always great.

This restaurant is located in old Taco Bell. The inside features some neat art although near the bar it was a complete mess of to go containers and surplus. The food was fantastic. The hot and sour soup was nice and peppery. It also was hearty with vegetables and egg. The other apps of dry green beans and crab Rangoon were equally delicious. I was kind of surprised of the price difference f the Rangoon when you only get 4. Their container of hot chili oil was VERY spicy! I enjoyed it but consider yourself warned. My entree of noodles was filling and well seasoned The vegetables were a perfect mix of el dente. I had a lot of leftover food and tasted great the next day too. The service was a little distant. It wasn't busy and we were getting overlooked for water refills and just checking in. I would still recommend coming in and giving this place a shot or two.

Eggplant. Not sure which eggplant this is but it was just under vegetables

I went around 7:30 pm on a Sunday night with two friends. It was pretty busy but I got seated right away. The service was pretty slow but to be fair and to reiterate, they were pretty busy. I only tried a few items and some were good and some were just okay. Nothing was terrible though. Here's my review of each of the items that I got. Bamboo fish: The breading was thin which I liked. The fish was well seasoned and cooked. However there were way more pepper flakes in the dish than there was actual fish. I'm not sure what kind of fish this was or where the bamboo part comes in, but the dish was just breaded fish and pepper flakes. Not sure if I would get it again though. Sizzling black pepper beef/Hotplate beef: The flavor of this was really good. However the texture of the meat reminds me of textured soy protein and not so much actual beef. I would get this again though. Shrimp: The shrimp I got was just called shrimp in the seafood section of the menu. The shell was still on which gave it a good crunch and the flavor was really good. However it was a little greasy and oily for my taste. Eggplant: The eggplant was the best item I got. No complaints. I would come back just for the eggplant alone. This was just called eggplant under the vegetables section. It was a little loud in the restaurant but that's expected when it's so busy. The restaurant was extremely dark and dim inside. When I left the restaurant at about 9 the outside was darker than inside the restaurant.

The spicy fragrant lamb was a showstopper and lived up to its name. The salt & pepper frog legs were decent but could use a bit more flavor. Stir fried eggplants were great.

Last night, we went to Yummy Spicy Restaurant for dinner. I think this restaurant opened in 2017 but we never went there. We finally went there last night. The food there is Sichuan dishes. Many are spicy. The menu was huge, many pages! The waiters were very helpful. We ordered Beef Tendon & Tripe in Chili Sauce for appetizer. For dinner, we ordered Yummy Onion with Shrimps & Spicy Fragrant Lamb. Beef Tendon & Tripe in Chili Sauce was excellent! I loved the chili sauce! Yummy Onion with Shrimps was amazing! Yummy & so many shrimps. We went to many restaurants in Atlanta, they all didn't have that many shrimps. Spicy Fragrant Lamb was great! I really didn't like lamb before. When I was four years old in Hong Kong, I had a soup with lamb. I hated that taste back then. Now, I decided to try lamb again. My husband really likes lamb. The dish was wonderful! The lamb tasted like very tender beef. There was so many lamb that we ended up bringing it home. We will DEFINITELY come back! The food was amazing. The price was very reasonable. The waiters were so helpful. We got so many shrimps & lamb! So many! I loved it!

Does the hot and sour soup have pork?

What are the vegan entrees available?

Is Yummy Spicy still open and doing take-out? We tried calling several times but couldn't get through.

    They've reopened for take-out currently.

What is the #1 most popular and delicious dish?

Not sure about most popular, but the most delicious is the fried eggplant. I am not even an eggplant fan, but I love this dish. Also the wontons in chili oil.

We were a party of 5 and found both the food and the service to be inconsistent. The Food: Most dishes were mediocre or worse. The Three Cups Chicken (1/5) was the worst I've ever had. The Hong Kong Style Shrimp (1/5) was just bland, tasteless fried shrimp. The Lamb with Scallion (2/5) was far too salty. The only "average" dish was the Spicy Beef and Tendon (3/5), but one decent dish can't save a meal this poor. The Service & Billing: The service was quite slow during our visit. We waited a long time for the check and eventually ended up packing our own leftovers and heading to the front counter to pay so we could head out. I was also surprised to see an automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, especially since it was calculated on the total after tax ($23.07 tip on a $106.80 subtotal). While I understand automatic tips for groups, it felt a bit high due to poor services. There are a lot of great dining spots in the area, but based on this disappointing visit, I'm sure I would not return to this one.

The whole setup is like a mini food hall with several authentic Chinese spots to choose from--but Chong Qing is where I landed. Everything came out on real dishes--not to-go boxes--which I loved. You order and pay at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. Now let's talk about the food... DELICIOUS. The spice level was just right--flavorful with a nice kick, but not overpowering. If you like it hotter, you can definitely add more heat, but I was perfectly satisfied as is. The lo mein was really good too--veggies were fresh with a nice crisp (those onions and carrots were hitting!), and everything tasted well-balanced. Only small note: I wish there was a little more meat in the dish, but it didn't take away from the overall experience. And let me say this--the portion size is VERY generous. I ate until I was full and still had just as much left to take home, which is always a win in my book. All in all, I'll definitely be back to try more. If you're in Chinatown Market and not sure what to pick, Chong Qing Hot Pot is a solid choice. 4/5 stars for me!

The other food options are pretty good too, except the curry, which I found ok at best. It was kind of bland in comparison to everything else I tasted. Not actually "Szechuan Spicy" as it states and the curry was a little thin. If something says mala though, believe it... to a degree. Not as tongue numbing as others I've had, but you can still feel it. OH! You have to pay for your rice though. It does not come with and is $2 for each bowl you want. Never before have I had to pay for steamed white rice, but ig it's a first for everything. Dining in here is a bit similar to ordering take away. You have to scan a QR for the table to place your order, which you pay for ahead of time, before your food is made and brought out to you. There isn't much service besides someone getting you a drink. I don't think it's really worth sitting down and eating there, and if you wanted food here, I would only truly recommend the dumplings like I was.

When we arrived, I realized the location used to be the old Hong Kong Supermarket -- only longtime locals would probably remember that. The layout inside was pretty interesting. There was a Te'amos milk tea shop in the middle, Lao Szechuan on the right, and the hot pot & BBQ restaurant on the left. The staff greeted us warmly and quickly helped us get seated. One thing that pleasantly surprised me was that they offered freshly made milk teas and fruit teas instead of bottled drinks. The drinks were decent and refreshing, especially for balancing out the richness of the meal. Each person gets their own mini hot pot, which I really liked because everyone could customize their own soup base and ingredients. We chose a variety of broths including mushroom, spicy mala, tomato, and herbal soup. Using the iPad ordering system, we basically ordered one of everything from both the hot pot and BBQ menus. The food came out surprisingly fast, and they even used robots to deliver dishes to the table, which was smooth and efficient. For hot pot, my personal favorites were the fatty beef slices, lamb, beef tripe, black tripe, tofu skin rolls, squid flowers, enoki mushrooms, corn, lotus root slices, kelp knots, fish balls, and beef tendon balls. Everything tasted great with the broth and my favorite sesame dipping sauce. On the BBQ side, the standout items for me were the cumin lamb, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, short ribs, and squid. We weren't exactly BBQ experts, so some meats weren't cooked perfectly, but the flavor was still really enjoyable -- and the best part was that you could keep ordering as much as you wanted. Honestly, for around $40 per person, it felt like a very good value. My parents both thought it was worth the price. We left full and satisfied, and the service was always attentive whenever we needed something. Drinks: Mai Tai was actually pretty good, and this is coming from someone that typically sticks with a beer. Sapporo is available on draft! Service/cleanliness: 3/5 the host sat us, a party of 3, down at a table meant for 6, which was interesting. We were quite literally one of 2 parties there, and only one other couple showed up while we dined. Our table was also the only table that had a grill with browned oil that came from who knows where. We had it changed to a clean one, but when we were handed the tablet to order, this was also covered in grease/oil. The bathrooms and sauce bar were clean, but at the table I was not satisfied. The server herself was very nice and explained the AYCE experience well. Ambiance: quiet music in the background, plenty of tables that could sit 4, 6, and 8.
