Service 1 no water Asked for low sodium food was disappointing we drove to wheeling, usually it's better . Food came out tepid hot sour wax not good . No sauces no serving spoons.

    Dirty seafood. Veins uncleaned.

Yu's in Schaumburg used to be legendary. Not this location. The moo shu arrived with FLOUR TORTILLAS. Tortillas. Not pancakes like the menu promised. Nothing says authentic Chinese dining quite like accidentally making fajitas at the table. Then came the egg drop soup featuring shrimp that apparently skipped the "cleaning" portion of food prep school. Let's just say the visible poo vein added a bold seafood flavor profile nobody asked for. The pad thai looked like it was dyed with a traffic cone, but honestly it was probably one of the better things we had, which feels concerning. The appetizer platter arrived thoroughly cremated. Those meat skewers didn't just get grilled, they fought in a house fire and lost. Service was equally underwhelming. Our waitress seemed physically opposed to walking around the table, choosing instead to reach across everyone to hand over plates and refill drinks while dripping water across the table in the process. The ambiance was lacking energy and polish the original location once had. What was once a really great restaurant now feels tired, run down, and underwhelming. Maybe they expanded too fast. Maybe a great chef left. Maybe the kitchen is being held together by hope and old Yelp reviews. I don't know. I hate writing reviews like this because Yu's used to be a favorite, but based on this experience, we won't be back.

One of the servers told us that the restaurant was under new management and that the Yu's were under the same now to provide consistency. I've been to Yu's before, have I? The restaurant was large and spacious and starting to fill with groups. We selected the special which included soup or salad (no salad), appetizers and two entrees. This took away the guesswork. The hot and sour soup was just the right ratio of tangy sour and hot peppery. The appetizers were a mix of fried and skewered meats. I enjoyed the crab Rangoon and the shrimp toast (a little greasy). My companion said the skewers were fine. The Kung pao chicken was the right amount of hot, with colorful peppers, peanuts (and water chestnuts!). The sweet and sour shrimp was covered in the vivid red sauce I'm not crazy about but there was plenty of shrimp. They brought us fortune cookies and sliced watermelon in parfait cups, This was classic Chinese restaurant food. Good, tasty, dependable. Service was very prompt, and friendly, eager to please. We had plenty of food to take away.

Stopped by for lunch today and had a very nice meal. The waiter was friendly and attentive, and the food was pretty good. We ordered soups and they came out very quickly. The entrees came out quickly too as I was still eating my soup when my entree arrived. And for what I believe was a first for me, a robot brought food to my table! We ordered hot & sour soup and egg drop soup. Both were very hot and had some small shrimps which was a nice change. We also ordered lemon chicken and Szechuan eggplant. I liked the eggplant a good bit. The lemon chicken was nice but I think it would have been better if it was a bit more lemony. Overall, I enjoyed the food and look forward to trying some other dishes.

The restaurant is clean and makes people comfortable. The food are also good. Especially the fried Soft-shell crab, it's my favorite. The service are also nice.

It was literally just okay. The service was fine. The food could definitely be better. The jajangmyun is definitely a Chinese dish and not a Korean one. I know this is a Mandarin joint but the other Mandarin place we frequent has Korean janangmyun so don't come at me. We come from Indiana so we probably won't be back... There is a lot for parking and the bathrooms are decent.

I really don't like to write negative reviews but this is one of the worst meals we have ever had. As other reviews mention I have many fond memories of the Schaumburg location. This location does not come anywhere close. The first issue started with our drinks. I ordered a mojito and my boyfriend ordered a passion fruit mojito. Our waiter came back with two bright green drinks but in different shades of green. It wasn't what we ordered. He said to keep one and he wouldn't charge us for the other. My boyfriend couldn't drink his drink. So we tried again. He ordered a peach sangria and I again ordered the mojito. I got another green drink it was not a mojito. It was in a martini glass, no club soda...he gave my boyfriend his drink but called it something else and it wasn't a sangria! I sent back my drink. Onto the food. We ordered chicken sticks for an appetizer. They were dried out, thin pieces of meat. We ordered shrimp dumplings. They brought out the chicken first and we asked about the shrimp dumplings and our waiter said they take longer. It would have been a plus to know that when we ordered. When those arrives they were pale glue like dough with nothing inside except a shred of shrimp. Off to the entrees. Mine was served first. Kung pao beef but it didn't have peanuts. I did request mild spicy and it was ok. The bowls of rice were small portions and didn't taste like true jasmine rice. A few minutes later my boyfriends orange beef came out. It was a plate of super tough beef he couldn't cut with his fork or chew. I tried it and I couldn't chew it. It had a huge pile of some gooey sweet spicy sauce on top. The beef in my entree was tender and nothing like the orange beef. My boyfriend and I shared my meal. The fortune cookies have the same fortune printed on them unless we somehow got two of the same. Also, on the other side of the fortunes are advertisements for Jockeys women's underwear. We both thought that was unusual. There is a robot that carries out the food. A waiter follows it, and then puts the food onto your table. Our waiter didn't write anything down, so I don't know if that's what caused some of the confusion with the drinks and possibly our meals. No, he kept insisting that the drinks were accurate. We got the check and luckily we weren't charged for the drinks. We won't return.

Um... very average food. The lunch special is a pretty good deal for $10. I wouldn't spend more than $10 here, though. I got the sesame chicken lunch special. It comes with sesame chicken over crispy noodles, crab rangoon, fried rice, and a choice of soup. First off, the crab rangoon had NO FILLING. Absolutely none. It was just a dried out flap of fried dough. The soup was fine. The fried rice was tasteless. The sesame chicken was decent. Everything here is decent for what you'd expect from a cheap Chinese lunch place, but the fried rice/crab rangoon were pretty bad. Service, on the other hand, was friendly and quick.

When I walked in, there were some patrons eating a simple rice and noodle dish and there it was front and center, a microwave... and the older lady cook had just put something in there and punched it for a preset 1 minute timer. So that definitely made me ... know this was about to be sad. They do have woks going, but it looks like the main things that touch them is the noodles and rice only so there is SOME hot food Here is my order: 1 Fried Dumplings 1 Peppered Steak 1 Orange Chicken 1 Beef Lo Mein 1 Beef Fried Rice 1 Sweet and Sour soup This is my review of each: 1 Fried Dumplings - 2/5 Soggy, prefried, definitely from the microwave, not firm dumpling wrapper with bad five spice aftertaste. 1 Peppered Steak and Onion - 2/5 absolute ripoff, meager portions of steak, should be called Onion with Some Steak. just taste like the generic beef and broccoli juice flavor, filled to the brim of raw onion, and poorly cooked bell peppers. 1 Orange Chicken - 1/5 Prefried, Sweet, soggy, bad pieces of meat, absolutely sus looking 1 Beef Lo Mein - 4/5 not enough sauce on the noodles, but the noodles were cooked well and were very hot so I suspect that actually touched the Wok 1 Beef Fried Rice - 3/5 (only because of the raw onion) the rice was the oily fried goodness, idk why they put unevenly cut raw onions in this. It ruined it a bit. 1 Sweet and Sour soup 0/5 - absolutely atrocious. Nothing there at all. Money value I give it a 4/5. Would not personally eat inside as it is cramped and not separate from kitchen. Will not return though overall
