Chin dribblin dumplings made fresh! Employees are very knowledgeable and tell you which items taste better pan seared & which ones taste better boiled. I highly recommend trying this restaurant, they have frozen options too. Great price!

Great little place. Yummy fresh dumplings. We really enjoyed our lunch. This is more of a fast food type place. Very clean and bright. Fast service. You can watch the kitchen at work, cooking. We found the dumplings to be hot and fresh...large portions. The side salads are great. I don't like beets but their beet salad was crunchy and great. The tea eggs were nice. Really enjoyed our meal. We will be back! Highly recommend.

Tried the shrimp & pork with chive dumplings (steamed) and a side of broccoli, plus grabbed the beef & onion pan-fried dumplings to go -- *both* were insanely good! I honestly can't pick a favorite. They give you soy sauce, vinegar, and chili oil so you can mix your own dipping sauce -- I liked being able to make my "perfect combo." The staff was super friendly, and it's so cool watching them make fresh dumplings right through the kitchen window! The place has such a bright, happy vibe, and there's tons of parking in the shared lot. 10/10 would go back again (and again)!

I really love to eat here, but there is nothing here my husband can eat. So I send him off to another nearby restaurant while I eat dumplings. The dumplings are worth the extra wait for them to pan fry them. Very plain and pleasant dining room that fits well with the simplicity of the dumplings. Everyone there is very pleasant and helpful.

    Amazing beef and onion dumplings!!!

Amazing food, amazing service and a nice, clean restaurant! I could eat here everyday!

    Teapot to share with friends!

The dumplings and tea taste so good and everyone is very nice and welcoming. One of my favorite places with a very nice atmosphere in Libertyville! Also great tea to sit and hang out with friends!

I was so curious about Dangela's Dumplings after driving by the restaurant. We were in the area again so we placed an order for carryout. These are made from scratch so they told us it would be about 25 minutes. You can have them boiled or pan fried ($1extra). We ordered the shrimp, pork and chive dumplings and the chicken and mushroom dumplings. They come 15 to an order, which is more than enough. I arrived after 25 minutes but still had to wait another 10 minutes. The dumplings smelled wonderful and made us quite hungry during our 20 minute drive home. The dumplings were still warm and the shrimp ones were like soup dumplings with a lot of liquid. We had ordered them fried so they were a little chewy. Next time I would eat them at the restaurant and order them boiled. The flavors were quite tasty although the dough was a little thick. Definitely one order was enough to share. My car still smells like dumplings.

Fast casual place. View the menus on the wall above the counters and order and pay at counter. They will call your table number to pick up your order when ready. I think I waited 10 minutes, and there was only one customer at that time. They make everything from scratch and made to order, so I have no problem with waiting for food this fresh and delicious! I ordered pan-seared (boiled is other option) Shrimp, pork, and chive dumplings. They were served hot and juicy so be careful when you bite into one because the hot juices will splatter. They offer forks and chop sticks and there is soy sauce, black vinegar, and spicy chili paste on the tables, but the dumplings are great as is! I mixed the black vinegar and spicy paste for a unique flavor that I enjoyed. The side of shredded potatoes and carrots is served cold, and I really liked the flavor, texture, and the cooler temp to offset the hot (temperature) dumplings. Great place and I recommend for scratch made dumplings!

I'm happy we finally tried Dangela's Dumplings out. Located just south of downtown Libertyville on Milwaukee Ave., this place is within easy biking distance. We were greeted right away and asked if we wanted a walk-through of the menu. We accepted and were given various combo options. I tried the steamed shrimp, pork, and Chinese chives dumplings with the beet salad side. My companion chose the pan-fried beef and onion dumplings with the shredded potato side. Aldi, the Citron tea is super refreshing and light. Why didn't we come sooner??? Everything was delicious, fresh, and nicely seasoned. There is a decent amount of seating including counter stools that have a window into the kitchen. We had a really nice chat with one of the owners and are glad we came to a local business owned by a fellow Libertyvillian. Next time, we'll definitely get some of the frozen dumplings (when we aren't on bikes and/or have a bag with us).

The dumplings were good. It just too awhile to get our food and side portions were very small for the price.

The steam baskets were removed from our table pretty quickly after they were emptied. Plenty of parking here and the restaurant wasn't too crowded yet, early on a Monday. I appreciated the sturdy chopsticks for use as well as a fork as needed, but a knife would be helpful too, for the crispy greens. I would like to return for dinner sometime and try more dim sum choices. This is a great place to go for a meeting, date night, or with a group.

Price isn't super unreasonable given the quality, though a little higher than what people generally expect for Asian food. Compared to other dim sum restaurants in the suburbs, the price is fairly in line with comparable spots like Lao Hu Tong, and entrees are only a little higher than fast carryout spots. The only dish I wasn't crazy about here was the scallion pancake. I found it a bit more hard than flaky and the flavor wasn't there for me (even with chili oil added), otherwise the food overall was very good in terms of flavor and texture. The beef sanji was quite tender and I liked the bit of crisp, though the beef could've been slightly more flavorful. The crab meat and pork soup dumpling was by far the best dish, with a flavorful soup in generously filled dumplings. The beef chow fun had fairly bouncy noodles that were crisped up just a little and the beef was tender, there was a good amount of wok hay in the dish. The crystal shrimp dumpling was also quite flavorful with good quality shrimp and a great texture on the dumpling skin. Similarly the BBQ pork bun had a slightly sweet and fluffy bun with a good sweetness to the pork filling inside. I would've preferred a little more meat but it was still good. Overall, delicious food and reasonable portions for the price. The nice decor and friendly service make this a spot I'd return to with family and friends. The location is also quite convenient to complete some shopping and get some services nearby.

Thankfully, Phat Phat stepped in to fill that gap. We drove 30 miles for a late lunch around 2:30 p.m. to hopefully beat the crowds. There's a huge parking lot in the back, the building itself is incredibly unique, and the interior is absolutely beautiful. It feels modern while still being warm and inviting. We wanted to try a variety of dishes, so we ordered two baskets of the Shanghai Soup Dumplings, the Enoki Mushroom appetizer, Chicken Fried Rice, Phat Phat Chicken, Nasi Campur, and finished the meal with the Mango Sago. Everything was incredible. The soup dumplings definitely filled the void that Din Tai Fung left behind. Every dish was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and served piping hot. The Mango Sago was the perfect palate cleanser and a refreshing way to end the meal on a hot summer day. The standout for me was the Enoki Mushroom appetizer. That will be a must-order every time we come back. We also have Indonesian family and have visited Bali, so we were excited to try the Nasi Campur. It was spot on.
