Found this place on yelp, they are not a storefront you either order ahead for pick up through the website or you can order through DoorDash for pick up or delivery which is what I did. Picked a couple of their chocolate items, really enjoyed them. I've decided that Yvonne's Vegan Kitchen will be my go-to for all things vegan pastry, cake, and cheese (though I haven't tried the cheese yet, I am excited to!). About 2 months ago I ordered the chocolate chai cookies, the lemon slice, and the strawberry cake slice. The chocolate chip chai cookies were delicious and the chai added a welcome spice to the traditional chocolate chip cookie. The lemon slice was soft and had just the right balance of lemon flavor to it. My only drawback was I wish it were bigger! It was good and ended too soon. The strawberry slice was good only the icing was a bit too sweet for my liking. I can't wait to order more sweet treats from Yvonne's since she has so many to choose from! read more

I have never personally purchased anything from this place, however I buy their desserts from Tilt Coffee Bar in DTLA all the time. I work near the area and whenever I stop by to pick up a drink I try Yvonne's vegan kitchen desserts in their fridge. I'm always pleasantly surprised by how good they taste and I appreciate the fact that it's vegan and they also include all the ingredients in the packaging. I have chronic GI issues and I always have to be careful with what I eat so this makes it convenient to know what exactly is in the food. If I ever decide to buy a cake or any other goodies I would definitely give this place a try based off the taste of their desserts. read more

As a parent with a child with food allergies, finding Yvonne's kitchen meant I didn't have to make every cake and treats for every occasion in the family anymore (egg, peanut, and sesame allergies). We have ordered several cakes from her and they have always delivered as promised. The frosting can be a little sweet for my personal taste but it's pretty yummy with the cake. We've had chocolate, marble and vanilla cake and the cakes are moist and look amazing. We've also had the Halloween DIY cookie kit and it was a huge hit in that family for young and old alike. Another small business I'm happy to support! Yvonne is a sweetheart, the people who work for her are sweethearts and they make really beautiful desserts. Esthetically, I'm not sure you'd be able to find prettier desserts. Since taste is what most people care about, I'm happy to report that her pastries are really delicious as well. A few things are a little too sweet for me, but her donuts, cookies, chocolate cake and fruit platters are solid! She made a unicorn cake for my niece 2 years ago and it was a hit... it was absolutely beautiful, I should've taken more photos of it. Making pastries that are vegan AND gluten free is so much harder than just making them vegan, but she pulls it off pretty well. Oh, and her vegan cheeses are outstanding! Great for adding to recipes and sauces :) To the gentleman who complained that the cake he received for the baby shower didn't match the inspiration cake that he sent... I agree. Planning a virtual baby shower during a pandemic isn't easy. We ordered the cake fr here to be delivered in Pasadena, which it was pormptly at 10am as promised. The cake tasted way better than it looked so I didn't want to give lower than 2 stars. However, it looked nothing like the inspiration cake we sent over. We had to pull out over 6 flowers off the top of the cake just to make it look decent enough for the baby shower. All of the folks from the planning committee were quite upset with the way it turned out, especially at the price we paid. Will not use or recommend this baker to anyone looking for an aesthetically pleasing cake. If you only care about taste then it was pretty good. Everything was delivered exactly on time and they made sure everything was right before they left. It all looked beautiful in person, and exceeded my expectations. Now the important part... The cake was moist and delicious, the frosting was not too sweet (which can be a thing for v/gf cakes), the donuts were a fun spiced gingerbread like flavor that my daughter couldn't get enough of, and the cookies were crumbly sugar cookies in the best way. I discovered Yvonne's treats at a vegan festival in DTLA in 2017. I have been a big fan ever since. I couldn't believe her nut cheeses, as decadent as they were, contained absolutely no dairy. Same with her chocolate cakes and donuts. I went to this place based on a friend's referral because she knows that I am a vegetarian and working towards being fully vegan. I have a mixed review but have chosen two stars since my review is on the lower end. The baked offerings are not fabulous. This place is good because the food is vegan, which is still, in this day and age, hard to find. It is good that there were a variety of offerings and you can also get refrigerated items such as cheese, which was the one item that I enjoyed above and beyond. The truly unfortunate thing about Yvonne's Vegan Kitchen is that they choose to be non-inclusive by being cashless. So, they are only available to serve those people who have debit and credit cards, which we know cuts off a swath of the community.
