The "hot sauce" was likely from a bottle and could have been left off. The radishes would have benefitted from being tossed in lemon, salt and pepper. The image of the "runny" egg was too much so I ate half the toast serving and meandered to the fries. Not bad, crispy , hot, and...wait...sweet...something is off, I can't put my finger on it but at least it's not a raw egg. I keep eating. My kids looks at me and says, "do these remind you of funnel cake?" THAT'S IT - FUNNEL CAKE. We have both had enough, ask for the check. The server comes by gives me the clunky machine, I tap and put it down, he reaches for it and I say, it's processing, I still have to sign...and then he starts snapping his fingers...WHAT IN THE ACTUAL €¥($ ARE WE DOING RIGHT NOW?!? Never again. Never, again.

I had an unexpectedly fantastic election night thanks to Peter Tabibian and Z Burger (P Street). As a Marine combat veteran from the war in Afghanistan (Marjah Afghanistan 2010) I am fascinated by the US government, flaws and all. I am new to the area and live in Northern VA so I decided to get a hotel in DC to experience election night there for the first time. To my dismay the city was completely dead when I finally made it out. I assumed I would be able to find food but nearly everything was closed! After not eating anything all day, panic began to set in. While in an Uber I saw Z Burger and an adjacent bar. I stopped my ride on the spot and headed inside. Upon entering the restaurant, Peter was the first person I encountered. He informed me they had actually been closed for nearly an hour at that point. Seeing the excitement in my eyes turn to utter disappointment, he offered to make me fries on the house. He then proceeded to make me a chicken sandwich with the fries. Anyone who has eaten at this restaurant knows the food is fantastic. That being said, the review I wish to give is a review of the person I met that night, Peter Tabibian. Peter is a kind, generous, and talented man who saw a person in need and chose to make a difference in at least one persons life that night, mine. To me, the best gift one can give is to restore someones faith in humanity. Peter, you gave me that gift and I am deeply thankful. Please support this man and his employees. The delicious food is a great bonus. read more

Seen this place for awhile and decided to give it a shot after getting my haircut at Camillo's. I got a double bacon cheeseburger with guac. Burger was very good. I'm a once/monther at Five Guys and I think it is a solid comparison, the Wendy's comparison isn't a bad one either (although it is better). I also ordered a chocolate and banana milkshake which was truly terrible. It was perfectly thick (not TOO thick to be undrinkable but perfect), the problem was that it tasted awful. I have no clue if the guy made a mistake and put something else in there or what but I couldn't drink it. I thought initially that I just needed to wait until I finished my food, but after I did that it still tasted bad. First, they use chocolate ice cream (instead of vanilla with chocolate syrup), amateur move but not the end of the world. Second, I don't think they use bananas, it tasted like they used some kind of banana syrup that didn't even taste like bananas. I'm not sure but the only thing that made me glad was that I didn't order the large as I threw away an 85% full shake. With all that said, I'd go back I just wouldn't order a shake until I'd tried someone else's that they said was decent. Not sure how to rate it because of the polar difference in the 2 things I got. read more

I usually don't get out much but today was different. The place called Z-BURGER changed my perspective of fast food. It's in Columbia heights; 3301 14th St NW, Washington D.C.. The scenery around the place is very beautiful and lively yet calm. Everything about this place is amazing from the architecture to the workers. They are very interactive, helpful and polite. The wait for food wasn't really long. The Chicken Sandwich is amazing and FAR BETTER THAN CHICK FILA AND MC DONALDS. At first glance at the prices may seem a bit high but the thing is you get 3 X MORE THE AMOUNT OF FOOD you would normally get FROM ANY OTHER FAST FOOD PLACE. The chicken sandwich is well seasoned the flavors just melt in you mouth and the sandwich are so massive that you can barely bite it the calories are well worth it. I really recommend that you come and try the food here it's a must have must see place in Washington D.C. they also have steak and cheese, burgers, VEGAN FOOD,Shakes, and floats. The aesthetic of the restaurant is a mix of a retro Friday night date and a elegant outing because the art in the building since it was once a movie theatre. I have been going to z burger since they first opened a month or so ago and they have really worked out a lot of the kinks that they had when they first opened. They seem to have a handle on the line and getting people in and out pretty quickly. The place is also a LOT cleaner than it was after their opening. They also aren't running out of menu items like how they were at first. I talked to the guy the other day and he said they are just waiting on a new fryer to get the onion rings up and running. Those should be amazing once they have them. I can't even explain how much better their fries are than 5 Guys. Whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up because they are so amazing. The last thing i can add is that their milkshakes are awesome. I am going to gain 100 pounds from eating there. I can't wait till the sandwish and salad side opens so I can eat salad with a milkshake instead The guy is really nice... if you ask to speak with the owner and give him feedback on how your burger was, he will give you tokens for free burgers. :) read more

I went here recently for the Obama birthday celebration they did because I heard they were giving away free food and birthday cake. Well they definitely held true to their word as the line was down the street with patrons. I waited in line for about 20 minutes and finally got to the front and won a free milkshake and free burger. Their are 75 milkshake flavors so it was tough to pick just one...lol...so I went with the birthday cake flavor in honor or Obama's bday. It was a great pick! After eating I got a free piece of what had to be the largest cake I had ever seen in my life. It was like the size of bedroom and the decorations were awesome. From the outside this spot just makes you want to go in and at least try it, which is just what I did on one Thursday afternoon. After making my way down Connecticut in the steaming hot sun, Z Burger was the perfect stop to cool down and I did that with a simple chocolate shake (*which was good) and I tried the Obama burger which was a hit too. ZBurger has great milkshakes and a ton of flavors. And they offer the milkshakes for a dollar on Monday afternoons. The burgers are great and the onion rings are perfect. The fries are ok; nothing special, but everything tastes great in the special sauce that they offer. The best part is that once you pick what kind of burger you want, you can add as many toppings as you want without an extra charge (except for a couple of extra items). So far, my favorites are the Birthday Cake and the Vanilla (*pretty basic, but it's good!). I tried to build a burger that was similar in build to a double-double. Two patties with melted American cheese, topped with tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, and grilled onions. The beef tasted fatty, fresh, and flavorful. It was a little on the well-done side. everything around the beef was perfect. The bun was delicious and tasty. Wow just ordered a chicken burger because chipotle was closed! I've always seen this places packed!! A great burger that is like no other fast food joint. It would be more accurate to compare Z Burger's burgers to a regular sit down restaurant than a typical brown bag burger joint or highly processed fast food from a factory. The drinks delivered were normal medium size drinks at any other chain... passed off as large drinks. The Cane's sauce tasted very diluted or watered-down. This was NOT a visit that would make us want to return to this location nor to the chain in another location. Absolutely NOT a $27 meal but most definitely an unexceptional experience.

I've tried their 3pc tenders w/fries and honey mustard. Their food is somewhat overcooked, tastes good, and overall flavorful. I especially enjoyed the fries because they were perfectly salted. The space is medium to large sized, somewhat clean, customer service is good. Parking can be tricky depending on the time of day. Overall, I'd recommend!

I ordered my regular, pastrami sandwich on rye and a cup of chicken matzoh ball soup. The soup came out lukewarm and without much taste, seconds later came my pastrami which by the time I finished my lukewarm soup the pastrami was also lukewarm - and very greasy. The pickle bar had dry sauerkraut and the pickles were mushy. Got home 8 hours ago and I'm still sick as a dog. My wife ordered her regular turkey sandwich with Russian dressing- turkey is always dry but this tasted old, old and dry. She threw out the 1/2 sandwich she couldn't eat. Even the iced tea was off- too strong and warm even with the ice cubes in it- I guess it was just brewed. Our server was mostly M.I.A.
