Biryani and butter chicken in the background.
    Audrea P.

The food was amazing! We got the butter chicken, biryani, and bread sampler. Everything was cooked to perfection. Both were spicy (even the mild) but not too spicy if you like that sort of thing. Everyone working was super friendly and knowledgeable. Be prepared to wait to sit down and to get your food, but that is to be expected because it's new. Totally worth the wait in my opinion. I will definitely be back!

Fantastic! Yes, the wait was long but it was the second day they've been open and we weren't in a rush. They're working out the kinks. The food itself was worth the wait. The server was very pleasant and the wait staff kept our drinks full. The naan (including the starter sampler) was fantastic. Get the naan. I had the chicken tikka masala, wife had butter chicken and our friend got the biryani. Spicy level was perfect. Food was delicious. Give them a try!

A friend of mine who lives in Thomasville highly recommended this place and I finally got to try it. And it instantly became my favorite restaurant in Tally/ Thomasville area! We ordered samosas, fried paneer, naan basket, chicken madras, aloo gobi, paneer karahi, goan curry with dhrimp, bhunna, chili chicken, mango lassi. Everything tasted so distinctively different and flavorful- it is easily one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to in this country. It was not overly salty (which is often problem when you make your dish spicy) and each dish had such amazing taste profile. Karahi had smoky, spicy flavor; aloo gobi had more cilantro; madras had nice coconut flavor and interesting spice combinations; goan curry was creamy but not heavy, with lots of amazing flavors; their samosas had great texture and stuff-pastry ratio; naan was very fluffy and not dry (garlic naan was so yummy, and I don't usually like garlic naan!); chili chicken was slightly sweet but very tasty. We also ordered gulab jamun and ras malai, a dessert I've never seen before. Gulab jamun had great texture and light syrup flavored with cardamom. Ras malai is like a sweet milk curd in creamy sauce- very yummy! [[HIGHLIGHT]]On top of the amazing food, they use nice silverware, glasses, and dishes, which makes the experience nicer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And the price is really nice! (All the non-fish curries are around $14). Also our server was super helpful and friendly. I wish I lived closer but I know we'll be back multiple times. :)

Certainly worth the trip! We ordered the butter chicken (medium spice level) and the chicken korma(mild spice level) and they were both flavorful and spiced just right. The chicken was tender and cooked just right. The garlic naan was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, although it could've used a tad less butter. Service was great and fast. There are so many other items to try on their menu and we'll be back for sure!

Back Again & glad we did Went on 6/21 around 11:30AM Excellent service - were checked on by 2 different people many times which was appreciated The food we got was awesome - with the amount being enough to have some for carry out From the Butter Chicken to the Naan [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sometimes forget about y'all with the location you are in[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back again sooner

I am so pleased Zaan came to Thomasville. They are friendly and the food is delicious! The number 65 is a must (spicy/sweet fried paneer cheese)The butter chicken (makanwala), the mutter gravy with potatoes and the chicken kabob are fantastic.

Every time I come to Zaan, I have the most amazing experience. From the fantastic service to wonderful cuisine, I don't know what I enjoy more. I can honestly say there isn't a single dish I have tried so far that I dislike. My only complaint... I wish I lived closer! I make the drive from Jacksonville Fl as often as I can, so that should tell you how much this place rocks!! Anyone skeptical about trying new cuisine should seriously come to Zaan.

We really need more locally owned restaurants that offer something different from the usual national chains, and for a while this place filled that gap incredibly well. When it first transitioned to Hungry, the same manager stayed on for a couple of months and the food and service were just as great as before. Unfortunately, once management changed again, things really started to go downhill. The last few times I've visited, the quality of both the food and the service has noticeably declined. My most recent visit was especially disappointing, the dishes lacked flavor, freshness, and the care that used to set this place apart. Another thing I've noticed recently is cleanliness. There are often tables with dirty dishes and silverware left from prior guests when you arrive, and they sometimes remain that way throughout the meal. It adds to the feeling that attention to detail has slipped. I'm writing this not to tear down a local business, but because I genuinely want to see Thomasville have more great dining options, and I'd love to see Hungry return to the level it once had. I hope management takes this feedback to heart, because there was a time when this was easily one of the best spots in town, and I'd be the first to come back regularly if the quality improves again.

After living outside…read moreof Tallahassee for a few years, we are glad to be back, and even more excited to find that Zaan Indian Cuisine had opened during our absence. The last time I was in the building, it was Café Cabernet. Yes, I am showing my age, but that was the last time I was in the building. I was curious to see how it would be reimagined as an Indian restaurant. Imagine my surprise when it felt like a brand new experience walking through the door. Beginning with the darkly tinted windows which create a warm moody ambience, despite the sun shining brightly outside, then walking into a beautifully appointed bar with stunning Emerald green barstools. Over the bar hangs a custom chandelier that sounds like wind chimes. We had already looked at the menu before we came in, but we took an extra moment and decided to order a cocktail and an appetizer before our meal. The Paneer Pakora arrived beautifully presented. The portion was absolutely enormous, and the two of us had half of our dinner orders leftover to take home. I imagine it will reheat beautifully in our air fryer. We ordered the chicken vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. Zaan utilizes a mild medium hot scale. Some restaurants will use a one through five I ordered medium and it was a proper level three if that is what you are used to. The staff to customer ratio was balanced in the customer's favor. The service was impeccable, the staff was available within eyesight the entire time, yet they did not hover over our table. We also ordered garlic naan, and I truly believe that what we left with in our to go containers was another entire meal. The portions are very generous . We are early diners, but I can tell you that this is also a perfect place if you want to stop in for a cocktail at a sexy bar, and order some appetizers. The fellow diners that were there during our early bird visit were mostly younger families, but I would definitely head back for drinks and appetizers later in the evening as the decor really lends itself to being a bar as well. It was a little hot to be on the patio, but I imagine that during mild weather that is the place to be! One thing that motivated us to visit, is the owner being so active on the local foodies page. Anytime someone asks for recommendations for a special occasion, brunch, birthday dinner, the owner is immediately in the chat recommending his business. They were very responsive to my request for a reservation via social media. There is a large attached parking lot so parking is not an issue. I can tell you that the outside is very deceptive. Unless you knew the previous business in that location, it might be easy to just pass right by. Please don't. You definitely need to visit if you are looking for global cuisine with a fantastic environment. They appear to have a VIP table for special occasions as well as a private dining room. I saw to go orders running continuously through our entire visit. We will be back soon and may even take the spice level up a notch.

The restaurant is clean, comfortable, beautiful dishes, and unique glassware. I don't usually notice that, but the decor stands out. We started with the Manchurian Paneer, which was excellent. The flavors are complex and delicious, the service is great, and we will definitely be back.

The service was very good, and the mango mojito was well crafted. This was all because the poor guy was host, bartender, server, and bus boy. The food, on the other hand, was a different story. We started by ordering Chicken 65 and Samosas for an appetizer. They took forever and came out barely warm. For dinner, my wife ordered the chicken korma and I the Chole (Chana) Masala. We also ordered the butter naan and the cheese and garlic naan. My wife's dish was okay. It's not as good as several other places in town. My dish was really weird. It's one of my favorites, usually, but this came out as a thin brown sauce with chickpeas that has just been taken out of the can...a bit al dente. This was not the usually thick masala that I've had many other places. This sank right through the rice. It was not good and I did not take it home as leftovers. The naan, for which you pay $3-4 was a single piece of naan cut into four pieces. The garlic cheese naan had garlic butter and a cheese powder of some sort sprinkled on top. Not a good value. There are other, more amazing Indian restaurants in town that we will continue to frequent. We've given this two tries and won't be back.
