Dining out is a treat until you find that you've been gouged with an obvious double charge. I recommend that you check your statements for recent visits here to ensure that the same error was not inflicted on you as well. Update: we returned to Thai Thai today to give them a chance to make the chain of events described above right, and they fell significantly short. The woman who gave us our refund (for the pre-tax amount, after asking us what we wanted and replying the full amount with tip) did not apologize for our troubles, or offer any additional concessions to make up for their error (running our card TWICE for different amounts at the same time, after giving it to our waiter). I asked for a gift certificate for our troubles/their error, and she refused, still with no apology.
