I can't believe I ate this again!...yuck!! I did a two star review back in June and vowed to never come back. But when food was randomly ordered by our employer after Mediterranean was requested (by me) this dump was chosen. Family style so I got to taste a lot of different things and yes it's still a waste of time. Worst falafel ever, scary meat, weird textures, off flavors. Sorry if you like this place but REALLY cannot understand the 4 and 5 star reviews at all. 6/29/2021 I got the lamb and beef kabob rice plate. Things were ok, not super tasty but "alright". Ordered the chicken, rice and veggie bowl and it was beyond amazing! The rice is sooo flavorful and moist, best rice I've ever had and I've had a lot of rice from a lot of places. Chicken was flavorful and moist, veggies also the same. We are always on the lookout for new Mediterranean and middle eastern spots, so when this popped up on DoorDash we were excited to check it out. We shared an order of hummus plus pita and a chicken shawarma wrap which was a nice light lunch for two. The hummus had a nice balance of parsley and herbs without being overwhelmingly herbaceous - my boyfriend said it was some of his favorite he's had in the city. We opted for adding a fried egg to the shawarma and were not disappointed. Would def recommend and def plan to order from Za'atar again! read more

Falafel was excellent - amazing sauce on it! Delivery was neat and organized and faster than expected.

Came in from out of town and got take out through Uber Eats. Everything was super good. My boyfriend and I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon Rice Bowl with Pita Bread. Also try the extra sauces. We ordered from Caviar due to their location as it was close to our house. We ordered falafels on the side, hummus, fries and one lamb rice entree and one keto lamb beef entree. Everything was prefect! Best cauliflower rice I've ever had. The pita was chewy and great with the hummus. I will have enough to take to work tomorrow for a whole other meal, since there was so much food. Price great for the amount your given plus some and the freshness of the vegees was superb. Fresh, delicious, I'm hooked! The only suggestion is more meat on the kabob plate and kabob salad. Maybe make it 4 kabobs patties instead of 3. It's not enough meat really, also compare to other Mediterranean place. But the packaging and labeling and paper bag and stapled, it's just so great. If your in the area, this is a great place to get some quick and tasty Mediterranean food. My friends and I were looking for a local place to get food before the local outdoor show for Mitis. Don't be deceived by the small look of this place(a business looking parking lot), the Baklava, Hummus, and Chicken Shawarma were delicious and real. Just would like to say, this is some of the best food in San Francisco. There are so many different Mediterranean restaurants and this one hits all the right spots. I'm extremely impressed with the quality and every single dish. There's attention to detail with every meal and it's definitely made with love. This place was highly rated on yelp and uber eats and I like the concept so I was excited to try it. I rarely go out of my way to post reviews but this place is SO BAD. DO NOT GET THE CHICKEN WRAP. The texture of the chicken was very, very weird. The spring mix in both the salad and wrap were not good. Even the fries were kind of stale. I'm not sure how they got this so wrong. The components separately are not hard to make. The only saving grace was the sumac yogurt sauce. I will never eat here again. read more

The delivery was on time and prices are decent for SF, but that's about all the positives here. By far the best thing we ordered was the falafel. Humus was okay, not great. Also, they use canned chickpeas - for a Mediterranean place, I would expect them to boil their own, and you can taste the difference. The chicken rice bowl was curry flavored. Weird, since it's not mentioned and the flavors didn't match the menu description. It was okay, chicken breast was a bit too firm, and I'm not a fan of curry spice. I ordered the beet salad, and they delivered the fattoush instead. It was not bad, just not what we wanted. I was excited about all the pickled onions and other veggies in the dishes and salads, but they use too much vinegar and their pickles are way too sour. The real disappointment however was the eggplant wrap. I love eggplants, but this was pretty disgusting. I think the eggplant must have been roasted whole, and then part of it scooped out into the wrap. It was undercooked and made my tongue super itchy. It was also soaked in something vinegary, and along with all the pickles in the dish and side salad, the prevailing flavor was sour, with a side of itchy tongue. It was shameful what they did to that poor eggplant, still can't get over that. Obviously skipping this place in the future. read more

Delicious Mediterranean fare. Loved the lamb and beef kabob wrap, just the right amount of flavor. The salads are great too and the muhummara (roasted red pepper and walnut) dip was AMAZING! Wow, I really enjoyed everything I have ordered for delivery. Since it's my first time ordering I kept it simple, chicken shawarma, side of fries, tatziki and pita. Aside from the fries (tbh, not Za'atar's fault, fries just don't travel well for delivery) I loved all of it. The shawarma had a sauce (tahini?) with a twist that I completely am in love with. The pita is dense but fluffy and amazing for scooping. The tatziki was great on its own or spooned over the shawarma. I've book marked it so I can order again! read more

A friend and I ordered the Chicken Shawarma wrap and it was delicious. They gave use this delicious curry sauce with it. I could have asked for it, but they should have an option to get the wrap with fries on it when you order. Would definitely get food from here again.
