I usually dine in but occasionally just order to go. Decor is classy and ambiance during dinner is romantic. One of my favorite to go places, I have never been disappointed especially when it comes to flavor. Their salmon is my fave dish. Their lunch portions are more than enough. Best time to go is lunch due to pricing. You will pay double for the same dishes for dinner. Definitely will recommend. I would give this place a 5 except they are a little slow at times, even when they're not that busy. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful and flavorful my lamb was. My table mates had Chilean Sea Bass (fantastic) and Sultan's Feast (incredible). But I can't say enough about the lamb. Parvis (the manager) and Arti (our server) made sure that we had the food we wanted, the wine that we wanted and were treated like royalty. My friend and I were looking for a spot for dinner and we came upon Zafron Restaurant. So we decided to go there. As the waitress take our drinks order, she asked my friend what she wanted to drink? But I guess didn't bother to ask me, and just stared at me waiting for my answer and me not knowing cuz I was looking at the menu. Anyway! She brought our waters and then took our orders. the food came out pretty fast and the food was really good. But what really disappointed me was the lack of customer services. She did not come up to the table at all and ask us how the food was or if we needed anything els . Her and the other waitress was just walking back and forth a few times acting like we weren't even there . I then find out the our waitress just sitting at the table behind us talking to her coworker or something I had to grab the other waitress at least two times 1 for the to-go box and 1 for the bill. when our waitress did bring the to-go box's she didn't even asked if she could pack the food for us. Was served a small plate of fresh mint and thyme accompanied by olives, cucumber, and feta. Ordered the hummus as an appetizer. It was very traditional and tasty, not like the Americanized hummus you would buy in the grocery store. My wife ordered the Tandoori Chicken and I ordered the Shish Kabob (filet mignon). Both were excellent plates served with rice and a roasted medium sized tomato. Was given a couple additional seasoning (one was dry and citrusy while the other was a green chutney made from green chiles and coriander) for the table that heightened the meal. Very satisfied with our selections. They were more standard offerings but given how well they were prepared I would definitely branch out to other entrees. The only reason I withheld a star was the level of service. Our waiter was brief with us. This might not be his personality, or something unique to him, so much as it could be part of his culture. I kept hearing about Zafron and finally decided to swing by and pick up some dinner to go. I ordered their chicken kabob with zafron rice and grilled tomato. The chicken dish was perfect. The chicken was very moist. I could only eat half of it, so I have dinner for tomorrow night. The manager said the restaurant is kosher. Not sure how that's possible when they mix dairy and meat. He also said they make their own challahs that they sell every Friday. I don't care if people say they may have copied another restaurant down the street. I wish them only success! I like this place. Yes, the fare is similar to Rumi's down the street which is much more popular. But, this place is quiet enough to have a conversation at your table, which I like. I get the Soltan kabobs with the sour cherry rice. It's delicious every time. The service is always very good. Good place to get some Mediterranean food. Had their veggie plate for the entire and the Mirza gashmi for the appetizer and a huge piece of baklava for desert. The outer layer of the baklava was a little soggy apart from that was rich and yummy!! But, all in all a good place to try. read more

Food is not bad but look very closely at your check, they charge for swapping sides even for hot sauce... The restaurant is called Zaffrons on the outside of the building. Near a corner of a busy street. The staff and owner are very nice. The food is excellent! We had a party of 8 and everyone really enjoyed their food. Service was OK, could've been better. One tip for the restaurant: Don't bring me the check when you just brought out the dessert. This made us feel like we had to hurry up and leave the restaurant - although the restaurant was not even half full. The waitress didn't make us feel welcome at all. She barely smiled, didn't offer to go over the menu. However, the owner stopped by and asked how everything was, I thought that was a nice touch. Amazingly good! We dropped in ready for something original, and found the decor attractive and nearly every table full. We'd barely tried Persian food before, so we asked our server to make recommendations. We ordered the tenderloin kebob. Some of the best steak I've ever had! So tender, it melted in my mouth! Instead of rice, we substituted a veggie skewer -- grilled eggplant, portobello mushrooms, zucchini, and yellow squash, absolutely wonderful. The owner Peter even brought us an appetizer plate of falafel -- chickpeas mashed with herbs and deep-fried, tastes like a pungent green hush puppy! We ate it with bread, tomatoes, cucumbers, and dill yogurt sauce. We loved it. Our entree was big enough to share, too. Next time we'll try some other Persian dishes. read more

Used to be a dedicated and long-term fan of Rumi's. But since Zafron re-vamped their decor and their menu, and after a few bad customer service experience at Rumi's, I have switched over to Zafron. The food is simply fantastic and well-priced (about 20% cheaper than Rumi's). Great portions too. The beef is juicy and tender. Cooked just right. The appetizer (especially kashko-bademjoon) is delicious! Not to mention the desserts. They are absolutely to die for! Needless to say that the owner is an award winning pastry chef! The decor and atmosphere is extremely pleasant (not as loud as Rumi's). Great for a date night, or a relaxing family night. Excellent customer service too. Have never been disappointed. The owner always stops by our table to make sure everything is to our liking, which is a very nice touch. Try it for lunch as well. They have huge fresh salads and sandwiches that are outstanding. good food, really loved the bread here, but as I understand it isn't quite authentic. Doesn't bother me though, I prefer good flat bread, like warm and crisp, vs. "authentic" cold dense and chewy. Bread is served with a plate of greens and feta and olives, cucumbers too I think. This was just perfect to keep us occupied while we waited for our food. The atmosphere was awesome, very relaxing, and a classy feel. The waitress wasn't Persian, so she wasn't a lot of help with the menu, but she was friendly. We went early, there weren't a lot of ppl, and I felt slightly like she could have been quicker, we waited a long time for a high-chair and also for more bread and water. Two entres and an appetizer came to about $50. I'd say this was reasonable for an semi-upper scale dinner place. No complaints about the food, Nothing I have to have again immediately though either. Just pretty standard Persian food. There was a spicy mango dish, almost like pico de guayo, on the appetizer menu that I had never seen in any Persian restaurant before however.
