Operating really slow for a Sunday. Other customers are becoming annoying because of the annoying long wait on an empty stomach. Zait is relatively small, but still feels pretty spacious at the same time. Lots of seating, and an open view salad bar right at the front when you order. Both times I've been here, I did the same thing. I ordered a shwarma wrap or gyro, and they asked if I meant the shrak. Both times I said yes, not remembering the outcome but both times being very pleasantly surprised. The shrak is this monster tortillaesque wrap that they stuff with your choice of meat, humus and other fresh veggies and sauces. When I say stuffed.. I do mean stuffed. So many ingredients, they don't skimp on anything to make this a delicious healthy lunch or dinner. The people at the counter are always super friendly and courteous. There is so much here I haven't tried yet but this place is really doing it great. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. The humus and salad get 2 thumbs up. People apparently love this place because about 17 people have walked in during my 40 minutes here. Everybody --except 3 people-- is taking the food to go. To the clowns complaining about the prices, you have three choices: Small, medium and large. Choose small or go next door to Ralph's and get a protein bar that will fit your budget. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. The girl at the register was super patient while I decided what to eat. I got a combo plate with beef shawarma. The beef was cooked well, not overdone like a lot of other places I've tried, and seasoned perfectly. It came with served on a bed of rice, with hummus, and a cucumber salad on the side. Although it came with pita bread, I decided that I wanted some more so I ordered another serving for an additional dollar. Everything you ordered comes in large portions so there's more than enough food for lunch and dinner. They even got the food out quickly! If you check in, they'll give you a free piece of Baklava. I really liked the vegetables on the right, but I wasn't a big fan of the purple cabbage... I wasn't aware, but it tastes very similar to cole slaw. I'm not a big fan of cole slaw unfortunately, but that's my bad for picking it as my side. My friend likes it and he also likes cole slaw! So if you like cole slaw you should try it out! After several visits to Zait Bistro, I felt it was time to write a Yelp review. I'm pleased that they have worked out the kinks since their soft opening. Although it looks like a fast food restaurant, it isn't. The food is prepared when you order it, and the wait times are written on a dry erase board posted on the wall. To be more time-efficient, you can call in ahead of time to place your order, then pay for it when you come in. Today, we ordered 2 combo plates and a sandwich; we waited approximately 20 minutes for our complete order. I've tried the chicken shwarma combo, beef shwarma combo, and kefta kabob combo. My favorite dish of the three is the beef shwarma with garlic lemon paste, which is served on top of rice pilaf. The white cabbage salad is my favorite side. In fact, for my combo sides, I got 2 servings of the white cabbage salad! The meat servings are large--good enough for 2 meals. This is my favorite place for Mediterranean food by far. Not sure why everyone in some of these reviews are so rude and complaining about this place. They have great food and if employees aren't giving you a hug and kiss on your cheeks when you walk in then I guess it's not for entitled, rude guests like them. Personally my family and I have never had a bad experience and we only ever do takeout, the condiments and the hummus are so good and the falafel (which is vegan) is amazing! My husband and I were shopping at Ralph's and wanted to grab a bite to eat. It was 11:00AM so we stopped in at Zait Bistro which is right next to Stuft Pizza. As we walked in, nothing was ready and it would be a 15 minute wait since they were still prepping. I had perishable food items so we decided to go home to drop the items off, eat something at home and come back for dinner. We stopped in again around 5:30PM and many of the tables were filled up with customers. My husband ordered the Chicken Shawarma with hummus and Tabbouleh and I got the Kefta (ground beef and lamb) Kabab with hummus and cucumber yogurt salad. They don't have a register/iPad to ring up orders and it's all calculated by hand at the moment. They do have a touch-screen soda fountain, but it's a bit smaller and doesn't have all the choices as the larger ones. Their Yelp Check-In offer is a free dessert (Harissa). As other reviewers have mentioned, all the food is made to order, so don't expect "fast" food. We waited between 15-20 minutes and there were a few folks that were waiting for their to-go orders as well. Once our food came out, I couldn't stop myself from shoveling it all in. I like the texture of the rice. It tastes home made. It's not on the fluffy side, and a bit more dense. The pita bread in the brown paper bag was grilled and I could taste it. I like their attention to details. Their hummus was delicious as was the yogurt cucumber salad. I could literally eat spoonfuls of their hummus by itself. The Kefta kabab had nice flavor, but could be a bit juicier. My husband liked his chicken shawarma, but just wished there was more of it. The garlic paste is also on point. Our total for two plates and two drinks came out to $24 something. The drinks were $1.99 each for a small cup, but at least you get free refills. My husband and I already had our "go to" places for Mediterranean food and my husband actually said he felt like he was cheating on our regular place. I checked in on yelp and got a free cabbage salad. They recommended the white cabbage salad but they ran out so i got the red cabbage salad.
