My house burned down in the Eaton fire, but I was able to find my Zales engagement ring in the rubble. It was blackened, but the diamond was intact. I have a lifetime warranty on the diamond, but had lost all the paperwork in the fire. Esmeralda went above and beyond and spent a good hour trying to find my record through various means in the Zales system. Luckily, she found it after some sleuthing and my ring was sent off to be repaired. I was surprised that it was covered by the warranty so I didn't have to pay. The ring came back good as new. I've had this ring for almost 20 years. This speaks to the quality and longevity of Zales that they not only still found my records, but the ring itself survived a house fire and they were able to repair it at no charge under their warranty. read more

I stopped in to have my Valentine's Day gift resized. My boyfriend paid cash for it and we couldn't find the receipt. Zales really is the lowest of the low you could find as a jewelry store. I've been a long time customer at Jared's, but because it's too far for me now, it's hard for me to get to a nearby location. Now I totally see the difference in their quality and I will always stick to Jared's. Even if it means I have to drive an hour to get there, I'M STICKING WITH IT!! So the initial customer service I've encountered here is extremely unprofessional. I won't go into detail because it'll be embarrassing for them. I ordered a simple rose gold band online. I chose to pick up at this location because it was only a few miles away. There are two young men who work there that are way too immature to work at a jewelry store-- any jewelry store for that matter. I had only worn this ring for a week?? And the rose gold color had already stripped away. Why on earth does Zales feel the need to hike up prices on their cheap items??? It's on the same level as Claire's! The only good thing about it is it hadn't turned my finger green yet. I am disappointed it didn't even last more than a week and it's already come off. Their engagement rings look like knock offs. Great customer service and the Zales associates didn't pressure me into purchasing anything. I came here to just look for potential wedding bands and the associate offered to show me different kinds for the bride and groom. I spent almost an hour here since I'm particular about jewelry. Again, they didn't pressure me to buy at all. Ultimately, I purchased a 14k 3/8 cttw wedding band for around $600 and the insurance for $130. Thankfully, they have a 60 day return policy as long as the ring hasn't been altered. The sales associate did not bother to introduce herself and stated, "How can I help you?" I told her what I was looking for, but she obviously did not comprehend. The reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars is because I was completely ignored as because the sales associates were "busy." The employees at this particular location obviously cannot multitask. Worst service ever. The process of dropping off jewelry is always way too long - so unnecessary at this day and age. They always seem to mess up on my service orders. Picked out the one I wanted and went through the purchase process. Everything was fine. The lady that helped me was nice but not informative. The generic size of the ring was a 7. I needed a 4. When we went back to get the ring sized they told me they can't resize it. Because the ring won't be the same. Ok that's fine... But why didn't the lady tell me that when I bought it!? I didn't really know what my style was yet, but they allowed me to try some rings on and helped me narrowed down my style. They weren't pushy, which was great because it made me feel more comfortable. Although they had a great selection of rings, the center stones were pretty small. They suggested that I stop in at their next trade show that takes place within their store. I have to give at least one star to post this review. I would have given zero star if it is possible. They get my first order wrong, they blame the ring sizer. They can't get my second order delivered on time, they blame the store member giving out too optimistic time commitment . They can't process the refund on spot cause they need to research what goes wrong. This time, they blame the store member did not process the whole order correctly and perhaps made some error in the documentation. When you thought you have everything ready for the wedding. You never see this is going to be a choke up. If you are shopping for something important and can't afford any choke ups. You really want to think again whether you can trust them. I have nothing against this brand but their headquarter really need to take a serious look in this branch. I don't feel angry. I don't feel frustrated. I feel disgusting. These people doing business under a genuine jewelry franchiser yet they can't own up their fault and manage up. They really can deep down their pockets for excuses but they can't even honor a refund right on spot. This is disgusting. Now, I don't even know when we can get a refund from them and I probably have to call in the credit card company to dispute this transaction. In fact, the store member even suggest up to dial in credit card company since they can't figure out what goes wrong. Of course, we have to manage up and stop being fooled around by these guys. I took it to the Zales in Arcadia which is by my house and they refused to replace or repair the piece for free. They wanted my to come out with $100 to repair a piece that originally cost $350. I don't like zales quality and their repair work. I recently got a new Vera Wang Bridal set and their lack of quality is hilarious. When I first received it, it was too big but I thought I'll just deal with it but then I noticed that the cut was really obvious on both rings. Just one look and I can see exactly where they made the cut. So I brought it in and asked for them to size it down a little and while they're at it they can re-dip the ring better. I recently went and picked the ring up and wow. Wow wow wow. The ring is all scratched up, and the cuts are STILL visible. Just SLIGHTLY better. And now the ring doesn't lay flat on a flat surface, it curls. WHAT KIND OF QUALITY IS THIS?! I didn't want to have to deal with them and their crappy quality of service anymore so I just left with the ring and decided to never purchase another jewelry from zales again. I've bought ALL my jewelry from Zales. Got 2 bridal sets and my husbands ring there. Ugh, so much regret. If you're planning on spending thousands on a ring and expect some quality work, GO SOMEPLACE ELSE.
