Ok, I'll give Zareen's a four based on their food alone. But be warned: There is no dine-in option... which totally caught us off guard but that's ok because of their food. I'd normally give them a three based on the whole experience but the food made up for it... We went with the Palak Methi Gosht, Paneer curry and the vegetarian samosas. The food wasn't bad but I was caught by surprise that this location is mostly a pickup place. While I've never been here before, I've been to a restaurant across the street fron the Redwood City location and they seemed much more lively. The Samosas were good and I didn't care much for the Paneer curry, but the Gosht was really good. After our visit here, I can say that I liked the food. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the location though. If I were to come back, it would have to be at one of their other locations with a dine-in option. read more

Now this place doesn't have any tables inside so we ordered online and picked up the following: *Chicken Memonis - like a samosa but with chicken - this was really good and flavorful and came with yummy sauces *Chicken boti kabobs - these were tender soft pieces of chicken kabobs and the seasoning was light yet delicious *Chicken tikka masala- this was really delicious and the curry was on point. It tastes great with naan and came with lots of pieces of succulent chicken *Madras chicken curry - this one I think had coconut milk and was yummy. Also came with peas and carrots and was quite flavorful *lamb curry (forgot the name but was the only one): I was not completely obsessed with the curry but the meat was soft and tender - really good. I decided to treat our family on a Thursday nite with Zareen's which was close to work. Got back home excited only to realize that they only gave me three of the 5 naans. Not only was the order. Sadly, the 3 that we got were dry, crumbly and tasteless. The paneer tikka was acceptable and the Madras paneer.. (well, I see now why Madras does not have a paneer dish ). So $60/- worth of buyer's remorse... I do give Zareen's two stars - one for the fairly fast delivery and two for a quick refund for the Naan. Another successful visit to Zareen's! As an appetizer, we ordered the chicken keema samosa. It was so flavorful and the meat was moist! Absolutely loved the crispy samosa. For dinner, we ordered the lamb curry plate & the chicken tikka masala plate with a full naan. Each plate came with yellow daal, cucumber salad, leafy salad & rice. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The daal is just like the one my mom makes so it definitely gave me the feels. The full naan is more than enough for 2 people to share considering each plate comes with a huge helping of rice. The free chai is the cherry on top to the perfect meal. The chai is thicker & creamier than most but oh so addictive! Seating here is a bit tight but there are benches on the side of the restaurant if you can find a spot inside. Have only been to this location recently but have been to the palo alto location multiple times. The food as always is awesome. Every zareen's I've been to has been quality food. However this location is definitely lacking in seating/ambience. There is no indoor seating just a few rarely cleaned tables at the corner of the strip that you can bring your food to. The service inside is good, with our meals being made very fast (5-10 mins for combo meal). This is great location to get some good food as long as you take it to go. read more

Zareen's is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the Bay Area from San Francisco, to Berkeley, to San Jose. I have tried almost the entire menu from chicken to vegetarian and all the food dis fresh, delicious, and satisfying! My favorite meal to get is the chicken boti thali. Chicken seasoned perfectly. Hot, sizzling on the plate. Tomato dipping sauce is addictive. The naan is out of this world. Service is spectacular! They remember me every time and always greet me with a big smile. When we could eat inside, I would always grab a yummy hot chai on the house! Definitely get the tamarind sauce and the spicy green sauce. Most important part of the review, they had my order wrong, they sent me chicken tikka wrap instead of paneer. The delivery time was exceptional. They delivered it very quick. Aloo tikki was very warm and delicious. They were 3 pieces though quite thin, tasted very well. It was served with a small serving of green chutney which paired quite well with the tikki. I liked the masala fries on the sides of samosa burger. It was basically a flattened samosa used as a patty for burger along with onion lettuce and tomato. I used the green chutney to dip my burger and that was perfect as well. Daal meal was quite filling by itself. It has some salad, rice and small portion of daal. Inside there are not many tables maybe like 5 or 6? There are outside seating but not good when raining like the last time I went. I'd say it's best to order your food to go. This is great great Pakistani food! Love all the curry flavors. And I love that you can get the chai tea up front any time you want. It's always nice and hot. Absolutely delicious! I definitely plan to come here again. I got the lamb gosht and it came with rice and a chickpea salad that was so fresh. It also came with a spicy sauce and a lentil soup. I have been to the Palo Alto location also, and for some reason the difference that I saw from this location and that is that the naan looked different. Now I may be wrong, but I ordered the half naan with the Aloo Tikki Meal and it looked really fat and not like traditional naan. I would say that the taste of the overall dish is like a 3.5 star. The Aloo Tikki Meal came with a vegetable salad like mix that had squeezed lemon, rice, a bit of madras curry without the paneer, and some daal lentils. I had ordered a half naan also because I had seen the Garlic naan in the Palo Alto location. The daal was a standard and hearty taste. The potato cutlets themselves were quite tasty, especially paired with the mint and tamarind chutneys. The madras curry was a little bit watery but had a decent taste. The naan however was a bit underwhelming because it tasted like naan you would get off the counter at a Trader Joe's and not like the traditional taste. I personally now feel that certain parts of the restaurant is a little overrated, but I can see why a lot of people love this place. I think the way to go at this place are their wraps, but the ones with the curries because the other ones personally feel too dry. But overall, a unique place to definitely try out. read more

Had Zareen's for lunch today! And this place always seems to hit the spot. It really close to the 101 exit on Shoreline and parking is very easy to find in the area. I tried a couple things on their menu and here's an extensive review on the foods I've tried overtime here: Chicken Tikka Masala Meal Sooo good! Idk what they put in the chicken but it's smokey and really complements the tikka masala! It also comes with salad, rice, and daal (I love daal from this place) so a plus plus plus from me. Potato Samosas Super crispy and consistent. It's your typical samosa, and really big (around the size of your fist). Yummy and comes with 2 sauces. I recommend having it with the tamarind sauce! Chicken Memoni Samosa (not pictured) It was on the 2016-19 Michelin guide mention, so I had to give it a try and it was good (I think I kind of over hyped it for myself - so it wasn't amazing, just good!). Covid review: I've been here multiple times and honestly have not had a bad experience yet. Their food has always been delicious and I am especially fond of their masala fries. Fries are nice and crispy and the masala is just -chefs kiss- amazing. I've had their vegetable samosas, paneer tikka masala meal, madras paneer and veggie curry meal, and paneer tikka masala ala carte. All have been delicious, filling, and I am always happy to go back for more. Due to COVID, I have been ordering through door dash about 20 minutes in advance so that when I get there, the food is ready for me to pick up. There is a small eating area outside if you would like to eat outside but I have not utilized that yet. It is a smaller parking lot but I haven't had an issue parking there. Getting there will be a little confusing at first as the road leading to it is a little strange but follow your gps to the letter and you will be ok. As a Wizards Unite fan, I love that there are two inns and a greenhouse within reach of the parking lot so I love to play there at night as it feels safe and you don't have to worry about baking in the sun. read more

Zareen's is a small Indian and Pakistani cafe that's located in a small strip mall literally across the street from Google. We came here for an early dinner after running errands in Sunnyvale. We are definitely not used to Silicon Valley Traffic - it took us nearly 30 minutes to go a few miles! We ordered two dinner combos. The Chicken Boti is probably our favorite. Grilled, soft-and-tender seasoned boneless chicken meat that is perfect with their orange dipping sauce. The Beef Shami Kabob has minced beef mixed in with some beans in three small patties. They were slightly dry, under-seasoned, and not my favorite. In hindsight, it would have been better to use some of their green sauce from the squeeze bottles. Both combos came with salad, lentils, and some pickled veggies. For some reason, they had kitchen problems and didn't offer naan. The paratha (Indian Fried Bread) turned out to be a fine replacement. Overall, its a busy, lively place that's great for takeout and a quick lunch. The menu is pretty broad and I like how they offer free chai tea. My order came out about 10 minutes later than predicted, but seeing what the workers were dealing with, it's a commendable effort. The crispy chicken burger was tender and crispy with nicely pickled onions. The side of masala fries was crispy and seasoned. The chicken boti sizzler was so juicy and tender. Its charcoal grilled taste is unmatched. Chicken tikka masala is creamy and loaded with chicken. The palak paneer comes with huge cubes of squeaky paneer. And the chicken biryani is a Friday special.
