VODKA SAUSAGE PIE
Paige K.

Zaza's has been on my list for a long time and it did not disappoint!! I love the option of the vodka sauce on the BYO but we went with two specialty pizzas for our first try. Honey ricotta pepperoni 4.5/5 - yes, this is a common Chicago pairing but that's because it's always delicious. Idk what it was about the Zaza version but it was extra special. I think the sauce? Idk but delicious! A little too much ricotta for me though, ended up scraping a few dollops off (which the dog enjoyed ). Vodka sausage 4.5/5 - dropping slightly as we were a divided house on this one. I absolutely adored it. Thought it was the perfect balance of flavors and I liked the different type of sausage, could have had a little more on it! My husband didn't love the sausage as much and found it to be a little cheese heavy. Thic chocolate chip cookie 4/5 - this was a more cakey cookie, kind of like a larger flatter levain bakery cookie. There again was something unique about it but we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Worth $7.... Idk about that but it was an enjoyable sweet bite as dessert! Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and I would definitely order again.

White Slice with Vodka Sauce and Giardenara

No surprise that my experience at Zaza's Lincoln Park was so great, considering the fact that their more senior Lakeview location never fails to impress. A unique plus offered here is that they actually offer slices! Not only that, but the slices they offer aren't just plain slices, but you can add toppings. I got a white slice with vodka sauce and giardanera topping per the suggestion of the staff (who btw, were super nice and attentive), and it was delicious! This location is definitely a different vibe than the Lakeview location, where it's more dark inside and has bar seating. Will definitely be back!

Olive and greens salad

I'm really happy Zazas opened up this new location in Lincoln Park! It has a great ambiance for dining in and delicious NY-style pizza. From the layered lighting to the seats to the matching silverware, it really feels like an upscale pizza dining experience. Music was at a good level and pacing of the food was great, which makes this a great date night spot. The server was available to take orders and refill waters and didn't linger. The olive and greens salad was massive, delicious and came out really fast. The Hot Sopresatta pie was delightful - perfectly chewy crust and great structural integrity to hold all the toppings. The fennel oil and hot honey complement the spicy sopresatta really well. Service was really quick and friendly since we came after the first rush around 7:30pm. They offer pizza by the slice on weekends until 4pm or sold out but this is subject to change. A note for leftovers: if you blast it in an air fryer the crust gets hard. You'll want to use the bake setting on a lower temp for a bit longer maybe 5-6 mins. You can also use a "calzone" method where you stack two slices so the crusts are on the outside, to prevent the sopresatta from burning when you reheat it. Parking can be a bit tough in this area, prepare to circle around a bit and you might have to parallel park. Although at off-peak time at 7:30pm it wasn't too hard to find street parking. We walked over to off-color brewing afterwards to have a beverage and play games to finish the night. Definitely will be coming back to get our pizza fix!

TL; DR: Great Pizza; nice ambience inside the restaurant Love the Lakeview location, so I had to try the new Lincoln Park restaurant for dinner. The inside is lined with tables and bar seating. The olive salad is delicious and full of goodies. The pizza is divine and the ice cream with Chocolate & Pistachio shavings is worth the indulgence. I wish they had the Bacon Jam at this location, but hopefully one day! Can't wait to go back

Is there a 10/10 option? The best pizza in Chicago. We love the Caruso, the pepperoni, the cheese, the grandmas. You just can't go wrong with their unique salt crusted huge format thin dough pizzas. A pizza you can totally crush and not feel sick afterwards. Divine every time. Family owned master chefs who have loads of food experience and bringing their magic to this specialty pizza pie. YUM doesn't begin to describe it.

Opening night!

I've been a Zazas regular at the Lakeview location for the last 3 years - I'm obsessed with finding good NY-style pizza and Zazas does it better than anyone else in town. If you've seen the One Bite review, Portnoy said it perfectly - when you bite into it, you taste New York. The dough, the chew, the Maillard on the cheese, the leoparding underneath, that rosemary-infused olive oil on the crust...it all comes together into the perfect slice. When I heard they were opening a new location in Lincoln Park, I was already excited. Then I found out it was taking over the former Pizzeria Bebu space (used to be one of my favorites before it closed during COVID) and that was the cherry on top. It felt almost poetic that my new favorite pizza spot was moving into my old favorite's home, so of course I had to go on opening night. The new location is bigger than Lakeview (but still cozy) and the dining experience is a bit more refined (actual plates/glasses/silverware instead of paper plates/plastic cups). Most importantly: the pizza is every bit as good as the original. I had the plain cheese (added fresh basil), the white pie, and the truffle mushroom. All excellent and perfectly balanced. The cheese slice here continues to be the benchmark slice in Chicago for what a proper NY slice should be. The owners were making the rounds thanking everyone for coming in on opening night and were super friendly. Lincoln Park is lucky to have such an awesome new addition to the neighborhood!

HOT HONEY PEPPERONI PIE

Really good slice. The place is right next to a climbing gym so it's pretty good spot to go with friends after that. Server was super chill as well.

Pizza style slices

Upscale pizzeria located in a busy area of the city. Super cool spot. Pick one of their signature style pizzas; I went with the White pie, and watch them prepare and then cook it in one of their many - super cool- pizza ovens! An elevated touch of class in their design style. Very nice area for serving drinks, although the bar wasn't exactly open. Nice area to sit and dine in , enjoy a pie with friends / family. It may have been they were too busy for bar service. It was super slammed but we still had our pizza out to us in less than 20 Minutes. Now that's service for a gourmet pie! Amazing PIZZA. I like it New York Style! Fold your slice up and eat it just like grandmas homemade pies . So good! The white is authentic, tastes a little Greek style to me; sesame crust, lemon wedge- so good. Must try. Polite staff. Friendly service. Very busy shopping area. Clothing stores, mobile stores, Whole Foods. Upscale area, and beautifully designed and planned out living area. Next to the water , canal and ferry is available in the summer for tours along the water. Incredible value & style here. Our family has tried this pizza in their other location as well. Zazas is Always consistent , and good value for a Gourmet Pie, $35/. 6 mega slices. ENJOY!

Deep Dish Pizza: The crust actually had almost a nice crisp at the bottom and a ton of cheese. Tomato sauce had amount of sweetness and they're very generous with the toppings. They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. I got there and there was about 15 people in front of me in line. The hostess was really nice and because I was there by myself, she called up to the bar to see if there was any seats at the bar so I didn't have to wait. I found out that Chicago style pizza takes about 45 minutes to cook, but I was willing to wait. After about an hour I asked where the pizza was, and they said "we lost it". Although I was disappointed that I had waited so long , they were accommodating and apologetic, and took ownership, which I really respected and appreciated. They said they could get me another pizza quicker than 45 minutes, so in total I waited about an hour and a half. They asked me if there's any appetizers I wanted for free or drinks and because I didn't wanna fill up before my pizza and I had already had a salad , I declined. The pizza came out and it was absolutely delicious. Was it worth the wait? Because I didn't have anything else that evening for a while that I needed to do, it was worth it.
