the employees at this place need to get it together, i was extremely disappointed.. place could have been awesome if it wasn't for their workers. my grandma paid in cash and when we went up to get our food it said she had a balance still remaining, doesn't make sense, and when the manager asked the cashier thag cashed her out why it said that she had no response and just stared like she was in a whole different dimension. then our second order, they never called our name and we had 6 people get their food that had ordered after us, when we went up there and asked, they said they forgot to call our name and it was just sitting out the whole time, disappointing they seem miserable and careless. read more

30 minute wait for3 bowls of soup. I had the Cajun chicken sausage the only thing Cajun about it was the name Cajun. You could tell it was made with subpar ingredients chicken was canned chicken and the sausage had the consistency of cardboard. Welcome to My Table! My first experience with Zoup was at its location near Short Pump in Henrico, Va. I just said to myself. I wish they had Zoup in the area. I like Panera. But, I Love Zoup. I was looking for Soup and Sandwich. So, I searched Yelp. Surprise! In November 2015, they opened in Va Beach. I Love the fact that you can sample the soups prior to making your selection. Foodies, I was not disappointed. I ordered Chicken Pot Pie Soup and a Smoked Turkey sandwich. The soup was excellent with big chunks of White meat chicken and veggies. The sandwich was excellent. We both ordered sandwiches with bacon on them....easy MICROWAVE bacon...who does that? I tried Zoup today for the first time. I ordered the Lobster Bisque to stay and Beef Vegetable to go (buy one bowl, get one free with the email signup). The bisque was delicious and they did not skimp on the lobster meat like most places. I barely put a dent in the bowl; the size was worth the money. The only downfall is I can tell the establishment is still new. When I entered, I seen two signs; one to order and one to sample. I knew what I wanted to order so I stood behind a customer who was already ordering. While standing there, I asked if I was in the right line. The cashier told me to go behind the customers who were sampling the soups. In my opinion, Zoup needs to have one line. Or they actually have to differentiate the lines for the customers who are unsure/sampling and those who are ready to order. Other than that, there was ample space during my lunch hour and it took less than 5 minutes to get my order. I will return in the future. The selection of soups are pretty good. read more

I RECOMMEND ZOUP TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE. They are highly accommodating to allergens and have something for various types of diets. The food prices are similar to Panera but the PORTIONS ARE LARGER, service is better/nicer, and nothing is microwaved. You also get the option to sample any of the 12 DIFFERENT SOUPS. Management is awesome and very easy to talk to on there down time. They're also very nice about customizing orders but the sandwiches and salads are great without alterations. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CHECKING OUT THEY'RE WEBSITE or calling in to see what soups they have before going because SOUPS CHANGE DAILY. However the CHICKEN POT PIE AND THE LOBSTER BISQUE ARE THERE EVERY DAY and are definitely worth sampling/ordering first. For sandwiches I recommend the Maple Ham and Bacon or the Turkey Club. Finally for salads I recommend The Asian Salad, The Power Quinoa (pronounced Keen-wa) Salad, and the Loco Burrito Salad. I promise you will not regret your visit. read more

I have been to this place now on 3 different occasions. I have been impressed each time. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is very good. The atmosphere does not seem so much like fast food. This restaurant is ignorant to people with a handy cap. After ordering our food, my friend and i selected a table near the pick up counter. Once settled my friend went to the rest room. In her absence, our food was called. I turned from the table to the serving area to say it was ours but no one looked over. When Mark called it again, i moved my wheel chair to see him and said it was my order. He said ok and went back to other tasks. I know it is a counter pick up set up, however we observed food delivered to two non handicapped tables. Obviously this Army vet has no regard for people with disabilities. The boyfriend and I wanted to try something new and we're pretty disappointed. Not only was it over $30 for two sandwiches and two soups but it wasn't even all that good. Most of the choices are vegetarian which adds to the annoyance at the price. Staff is friendly but we will never go there again. There should be side options like pasta salad, a small soup/salad. Terrible! If at all possible do NOT give your business to the Zoup located in Landstown of Virginia Beach. Filthy owners who lie to your face and hang up on you. I ordered my meal and picked it up to pay, knowing they give a military discount I showed our ID. They took .48 off a $17 order. I didn't say anything even though it was odd. I called back to ask what their military discount was (.48 is like 3%) and they said they don't give a military discount. What? That's a straight up lie. Then she says "it varies" what varies, their honesty or adherence to the facts? Both it seems. Then she hung up on me. I called back and asked to talk to the manager then says she's the manager. I mean, what the heck? Then a guy gets on the phone and says "we don't normally give a military discount but I do because I served in the Army for X amount of years." Ok, so you rip off fellow servicemen and women with tiny portions and 3% discounts then lie about it and hang up on them? Terrible, shameful! I'm sure the Army would be real proud.
