Zoup's is a great place to get soups, salads and sandwiches. One of the best parts of this restaurant is that you can have a sample of any of the soups before you order. There were about 12 soups to choose from and we sampled 4. All the soups were very good - nice and rich tasting, almost like homemade. I tried a soup and tuna salad combo. It was very good. Service: My wife and I are new to the area and decided to try Zoup out. We always look up reviews of places first to gauge what we should maybe expect (always with a grain of salt). We saw a lot of negative reviews about the management but not the food. We were greated by super nice and friendly employees and the manager was just as nice and professional as the rest. She even cracked and army / navy joke all in good fun. Not sure if the management has changed or not but the staff seems great and got a long as one would expect. Food: Awesome soups and salad! They ask and want you to try as many samples as you want! Every soup we tried was delicious! We ended up getting the Quinoa salad and my wife got the Lobster Bisque and I got the Wild Rice and Chicken soup. Food is delicious and this will be out go to place for soup and salad cravings. This was my first experience here and I placed my order online. When I arrived, the order wasn't ready, but they said they waited to warm the sandwiches so they would be hot. I wasn't in a hurry so this was no issue, but could be for someone on a lunch break. The food is prepared with quality ingredients and was pretty delicious. I had the Chicken Pot Pie soup and the Three Cheese with Pesto. Both were good. You get a piece of bread with your order, which I think can be over kill when you already order a sandwich. Was out and about running errands with the children in tow when my eldest asked if I wanted to pick up some lunch before we headed back home for the day. Initially, I drove to the shopping center to get a bite to eat at a neighboring sandwich joint. When we pulled into the lot it was packed, I'm guessing because it was near lunch hour, but we managed to find a spot. My youngest and I were in the mood for sandwiches, the eldest saw a nearby pizza place that he wanted to check out, majority ruled so we went to the first sandwich shop only to find that the line was long. We decided to go to the pizza place at the end of the building only to find that they weren't yet open for business (my eldest was disappointed). Zoup was next door and there was no line when we walked in. The staff was friendly and greeted us upon walking into the door. We immediately secured a booth. Since this was our first visit, I didn't want to be standing in line and holding up anyone who came in behind us so we sat and looked at the menu for a few minutes to figure out what we were going to order. It never ceases to amaze me how often we go out and happen to walk into a place that is empty but as soon as we arrive, it's as if the rest of the community shows up, ha ha ha. They don't have a huge menu, but there was a decent selection to choose from n both their sandwich, salad, and soup boards. It took longer than I anticipated - the kids in particular; so by the time they figured out what they wanted 15 guests had come in behind us and the line extended to the drink machines. Waiting in line, I quickly realized that a lot of us were first time visitors. Staff members were kind enough to come out to the line and ask who among us were first-time visitors and proceeded to tell us about the menu, how the soup selection rotates daily, etc. The dining area was quaint and well-kept. The décor was cute kind of reminds me of a coffee shop or Panera. The space seemed a little on the small side but I'm sure it had more to do with the influx of patrons who came in during the entire time we were dining in. The menu also mentions that you can place an order online; however, I haven't gone to the site yet to see if they deliver or if you place your order for takeout and pick it up at the counter. The eldest ordered a try two combo: a half-order Maple Ham & Bacon sandwich, a side of the White Chicken Chili w/ French bread, and a medium fountain drink. As for myself, I went with the try two combo of a half-order of Chicken Caesar salad, a side of White Chicken Chili and a sourdough roll, and a medium fountain drink. After taxes and a donation to Feeding America the total cost was about $28. You walk up to the counter when your name is called to pickup your meal. Self-serve seating. Booth seating was very comfortable and I didn't feel like I was being crammed into the space. The boys loved the sandwiches - go figure it didn't have any vegetables on it whatsoever. They weren't complaining and neither am I. The chili was delicious. Personally, I think it could have used a little more salt and pepper; however, it wasn't as bland as other soups I've had at similar soup and salad type restaurants. Salad was good too, lettuce was crisp (hate wilted lettuce), dressing was pretty good. Considering it was a standard Chicken Caesar it delivered on expectation. Initially, I thought the portion of soup was a little small for the price (if I had bought it at full price, I would've been disappointed); however, when in combination with the salad I thought it was a good portion. It didn't leave you hungry for more and you don't feel too stuffed that a button needs to be undone. We'll be back for sure. read more

This place hit the spot today. We were in the mood for deli/salad and decided to try out Zoup. The staff was super friendly and they allowed us to try nearly 5 different soups from their vast selection. The prices were great and the the time from Payment to table was incredibly fast. I had the chicken toscana half sandwich with a side of chicken pot pie soup. The sandwich was perfectly portioned and it was layered to highlight the taste of the ingredients. The soup was amazing and it reminds me of my grandmother chicken pot pie. It's even topped with pie crumbs! Overall we had an awesome experience and I look forward to coming back in the future. When we went to Zoup we were immediately greeted by the staff and they were very good and polite! I got the garlic kale soup and Mac which was amazing... I wasn't a fan of the mac but I recommend you to get the lobster mac. Sadly no gender neutral bathroom, but besides that everything was great! Most certainly a quick meal and great alternative to a nasty fast-food joint! Wish i could give 2.5 stars as that would be more reflective of my experience but ah well. Huge plus: there should always be one or two vegan soup options on the menu. The downside, the squash soup I had when we visited was just "ok," came out lukewarm and didn't seem like it was freshly made. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and veggie soup and didn't like either. We didn't order a salad when we visited so perhaps that's their hidden gem? Order at the counter and seat yourself. Franchise Owner is extremely friendly! The atmosphere is very good. The soup I got Lemon Basil Chicken with a multigrain bread. I prefer this over Panera for several reasons. Not sure what all the hype is about. Started with a sample of lobster bisque. It has a big lump of flour in it. So, I went for the tomato soup. Unfortunately I didn't sample it first and didn't enjoy it at all. Tasted like it came out of a can. I also had the Greek salad which was very good. Friend had the chicken Tuscany sandwich which barely had any chicken and the veggies we chopped really small and lacking as well. My daughter had the mozzarella sandwich which was very bland she said. None of the sandwiches were toasted. Just blah! I'm not sure we would go back. Worst place to dine, beware of chances of foodborne illness! Management is terrible, they do not sanitize in between temping, which is important to keep foodborne illness out of food if one is contaminated, or if you're allergic to an ingredient in one of the soups. If you're allergic to one of the ingredients, it will be in all 12 of the soups. They do not cover their soups throughout the day, and that means anything, like drops of other soups, or hair, and dust in their soups, if you have any allergies, please take caution when dining here! They also keep food overnight to combat costs and that is very unsafe, due to cooling down techniques. They have failed MANY of their inspections and simply don't care. Please go to Panera, no need to get sick. read more

Went today for the first time, it's not far from the school I teach at. They were so accommodating, our lunch ends before they opened but they let me run in to pickup early! I was so happy they did because soup was just what I needed today! I had their fiesta chicken soup and it was hearty and delicious! I took my son and his friend here for a quick bite yesterday. We all wound up ordering with the loaded baked potato soup. The flavor was decent, but I think I had two or three actual chunks of potato in my entire bowl of soup. I paid about $25 for one bowl, and two side-sized cups of soup, and three small fountain drinks. I think that is way overpriced. The little French roll that came with the soup was tasty--soft and fresh. The employees were super friendly and helpful. The dining room was clean. I came here for lunch today around noon. The place was packed!!! So that had to be a good sign that the food was good right?! I got in line, and the gentleman that was working the soup bar was so friendly and encouraged everyone to try a sample of any of their soups. He said that they have 12 soups that rotate daily, so there's so many options. I decided to try the shrimp and crawfish etoufee which was amazing and I ended up getting it. I also got a half American farm salad that complimented the soup really well! My meal came to around $10 and that wasn't with a drink, but everything I had tasted so fresh and delicious so I didn't mind the price. I'm only giving this place 2 stars because their food is pretty good. Their customer service is atrocious. This is coming from someone who has been in and around the restaurant industry my entire life. It's really a shame because they have a lot of options and it's a nice change from Panera if you eat there a lot! A few weeks ago we placed a To Go order online. We arrived at the restaurant to pick it up and the place was relatively busy. There were 6 people behind the counter and no one at the pick up area. We waited for someone to acknowledge us but were ignored even though several employees made eye contact. We stood there and waited patiently since we knew they were busy, and figured that maybe our order wasn't ready yet. After waiting around for 10 minutes, I finally said "Excuse me" to one of the employees who was just standing around. They acted annoyed that I had interrupted them and had to come over to see what we needed. Turns out our order had been sitting in a bag on the top shelf the entire time we were waiting to be helped. Last week we decided try again and stop in for lunch. We sampled two of their soups but decided to order both of those plus one which we did not sample because it was so busy. I got the Chicken Corkscrew which is basically chicken noodle so how bad could it be? When we got our food everything looked great. The soup was so incredibly salty that I couldn't eat it. I asked my husband and daughter to taste it also just to make sure my taste buds weren't off that day. My husband said it was way too salty so he offered to go ask if we could trade it for something else. The girl at the counter said she needed to ask if that was possible. Then a older woman with blonde hair came over and gave him a total attitude. "Well did YOU TRY IT FIRST?" It's a cup of soup Lady! We're not trying to scam you out of a free steak dinner! The worse part is there was an elderly couple in front off us that she was giving attitude to also because they had a few questions. If you can't be nice to people then maybe you should not work in any type of service industry. If you go to Panera and anything is wrong they apologize and replace the item with a smile. Most restaurants try to resolve any issues and try to make it right with the guest as quickly as possible. I know this because this is how I was trained at every restaurant I've ever worked in. I'm also extra patient and try to be low maintenance as possible when I go out to eat because I have been in their shoes. Based on the responses they've offered to the other Yelpers who had not so great reviews, it really seems like they could really care less about making things right with their guests. It's always basically "Sorry, please give us another try!" What is the point of asking people to give you another try if you don't take the necessary steps with your staff to insure these situations don't happen again? You also don't even do the minimum to try and make things right when there are any issues. read more

We really like the food here, but the older female manager has finally driven away our business (we've spent over $100 there in the past ten days). She really needs to consider taking a class that focuses on customer relations. Heck, even a class on manners would serve her well. It's pretty bad when you are overcharged and management makes excuses then walks to the back in a huff because she has to give you a refund for the overcharge. I'm pretty sure if I ordered food and I was short the money to pay for for it I wouldn't be given the food. Also, the lemon vinaigrette dressing that came with my salad was awful so I asked the cashier for ranch instead. When Ms. Crabby manager saw this, she told her employee that I was to be charged if it happened again. Really? It's a thimbleful of ranch dressing for god's sake. No doubt in my mind she was still stewing over having to refund a whole .75cents. Lady is in the wrong business if she wants to be successful--and smiling would be a good place to start. read more
