Zekos is my local faster food go to spot for gyros. Always call ahead(for pick up), it gets you in and out real quick. My favorite is the Chicken Gyro w/ a greek salad. The staff is nice and the restaurant is always clean. Been going for the last 2 years and have never been disappointed. read more

We arrived late in the evening and was looking for somewhere different to eat. They were super friendly. Acknowledged us as soon as we walked in and they were very personable. We had 5 in our party. The menu is very unique. Greek, American, and Seafood. The fish was excellent, the gyro was YUMMY, and the chicken strips were good as well. Food came out fairly quickly on nice dishes. Its nicer than fast food, but not so nice that you feel out of place in shorts and a tshirt. The value of the food was great as well. Place was clean. An excellent experience from beginning to end. We had passed by Zeko's many times thinking it was just a typical fast food place with mediocre food. I had a taste for chicken schwarma & when I did an online search this place was the only one in Bradenton listed. My husband & I gave it a try and we are so glad we did. The interior was spotless, it even smelled clean! The staff was very friendly and helpful in patiently telling us about the different dishes available. I had the chicken schwarma and my husband had a gyro with a side Greek salad. Everything was very fresh & tasty. Don't let the fast food looking exterior fool you, if you want homemade, authentic Mediterranean food you will love this place. Being a Metro Detroit native I long for the taste of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food. Zeko's is the closest I've found.. Their garlic sauce is a must for dipping the chicken kabob (and fries) in. The chicken kabob is hot off the grill and seasoned to perfection; overall their food rivals that of any of the area full dining restaurants offering similar food. Best deep fried mushrooms I've ever had! They're fresh made in tempura batter and about the size of your fist. the gyro platter is also really good and if you get the fries there's enough for two or three people. Better than I expected, that's for sure. The Gyro is full of flavor and a goodly portion of sliced meat goodness with the right amount of that white saucy goodness and some nice ripe tomatoes. The Fries are large steak style and crispy outside and soft inside. Nicely done on the fries. I have also tried the half pound shrimp, which was nicely done as well, plump and not dry at all. Great place for a lunch or dinner stop. Possibly, the Falafel is good, but my friend had it and said it was very sad and he ended up not eating most of it. Maybe he just didn't like what Falafel is, or it was bad. I've seen others say it was OK, so that could be the case. Giving them a pass here as who knows. Have tried the Chicken Gizzards and they are also well done (not fried to much as to make them tougher than they already are - some places seem to think they are supposed to have a leathery consistancy for some insane reason). The Calimari rings are in the 3 star range. Better than a lot of squid I have had in Bradenton, but not the best. Best fast Greek place in Bradenton. I have been to them all, and I keep comingback to Zeko's. Great gyros, chicken, fish. Good size portions, very tasty and friendly service. The WORST customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. I was there on my lunch hour on a Monday afternoon. The cashier had overcharged me, yet was very pleasant and apologetic. When she got the "manager" involved, he refused to credit me the difference. He stated that "the computer would not let him". When I asked him to clarify this, the response that I received was "I'm sorry, I thought I was speaking in English". When I told him to simply forget it, I wanted my money back to go elsewhere, he told me to call my bank and dispute. I then asked for his boss' name and phone number, he told me that he was the owner and I could not go any higher than he. I cannot believe that the manager (I don't believe that he was the owner) let me walk out the door without resolving the problem. Not a way to treat a paying customer, especially when you are new to the neighborhood and trying to capture every customer that you can get your hands on! I work in an office building close to there and sent out a mass email there telling of my experience. I received many responses' telling me that they will no longer eat at your establishment. I also received some responses that stated they had been there and were unsatisfied as well. Several people that your restaurant would not be there for long at this rate.
