Bay Area Yelp readers. Attention please. I have been supporting this woman owned business for the past 17 years. I started with Lily when I lived in South San Francisco, and her Salon was on Grand Avenue. I now live in Central Texas, and when I am visiting the Bay Area I make sure to stop at her new location in Daly City. Today Steven did my pedicure, and I knew right away he was going to take real good care of my feet. Super impressed with his skills. Lily was so excited that I called, and was able to fit me in right away. Her hours are Monday through Friday 9:30A to 7P Saturday 9A to 6P closed on Sundays. The location is right off of Mission Street. I had researched on Yelp some other Salons in San Mateo County in regards to services and prices and Lily was right at the low to medium price point. I have posted some pictures of Lily's work on my nails. They look absolutely stunning, my natural nails with acrylic. I normally get a good manicure from this establishment but today was totally different. The older woman scrapped the skin off my finger just below my cuticle when she used the red file. Worst experience ever! I used to love this place and always got my nails done with Steven -- but not anymore. The staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. They "forgot" my appointment with Steven, even though I confirmed he was available. I was ignored, made to feel unwelcome, and they refused to accommodate me. My usual nail salon didn't pick up the phone so tried this new spot. Very clean and they have a steady stream of customers coming in. Great selection of colors including the fun one that I selected for my mani. Called for an appointment and they were busy so waited 15 mins past my appointment time. They had the tv on so I was semi-entertained since my cell signal was weak. Pedi came first and TBH, it was a tiny bit rough as she scraped a bit hard around my cuticles but we survived. I have been coming to Jessica and Tiffany for over 15 years now. I have never had a health, infection or issues with them or my nails. Tiffany tends to be more rough than Jessica, so if you are too damm delicate, then go to Jess. LOL overall always a good service. read more

I just found my new nail salon! The salon is very clean and the aesthetic is definitely there! I did a walk in at 10:40am on a Tuesday for a gel pedicure. I was seated immediately (granted it was a Tuesday morning lol). I got a gel removal and gel pedi for my service. My nail tech was Steven! He did a great job and took his time. I requested white toes with square shape on my toes & he did exactly what I wanted!! I spent an hour getting my services done and I am definitely coming back! :) 5/5 stars!!! read more

So many great things to say about this nail salon. The staff were really nice, the shop is clean, and the service was professional. I called before arriving to make sure they were able to take me as I noticed that there are no reservations. Parking is limited but it is free since the meters only take coins.... They will give you a time frame to come in, but walk ins are common. I went in at 3:30pm and waited 10 minutes before being seated for my manicure. Chose the colors that I wanted during my wait. Then got my pedicure done afterwards. Overall I was there for about an hour and a half. The price was $80 for everything. read more

Pros: - Friendly - Easy appointment booking over the phone - The mani/pedi and nail polish was done well - Great decor - Pedi massage chairs are nice Cons: - Metered parking only. You can ask for change. - The pedi massage was disappointing. - Regular mani lasted about a week - Pay $1 extra to use credit card I feel conflicted about this place. Though they did a generally decent job for a regular mani/pedi and was able to fit me in fairly quickly, I felt disappointed mainly because the eyebrow wax job left me with a huge wound under my brow (it burned for a couple of days and eventually scabbed over and that took a few days to go away-- this has never happened at other salons) and the pedi massage wasn't that great. The eyebrows were actually shaped and groomed really nicely, but that burning wound really upset me, and it looked like I came out of a boxing fight for a few days so I wore sunglasses if I was out in public. For the massage, I literally saw the pedicurist add lotion, and she slathered up and down a few seconds, and that was it! I wouldn't even call it a massage. The price for everything including tip was between $60-$70, so pretty good for a mani, pedi, and eyebrow wax, but you also get what you pay for. I think 3 stars after all that is generous, but it is fair. If I didn't get a wound/scab and if the pedi massage lasted even 1 minute, I would definitely be a returning customer. I tried this place based on a recommendation from a co-worker and the reviews. The place is nice and clean. My appointment started on time. I was so disappointed with the service. The polish was removed with a drill even after I said I wanted a soak-off (for gel nails). I asked for square round shape. I got square. The file was used and not new! I know my nails require 3 coats. I was told two coats was all I could get. I even had to ask for cuticle oil because it wasn't part of the service. read more

I was a walkin and didn't wait too long. It was a unfriendly atmosphere because the owner, Li, didn't greet, looks at me with a scowl, and was unpleasant. Making me unwelcome. I needed a pedi/mani, and a simple polish. She didn't look at me when talking to me, and instructed the tech as to what I needed. The tech didn't speak a bit of English. When I tried to discuss the shape and length, tech mumbled and didn't even look up. Everytime, I spoke , the other techs that spoke English didn't even assist me. After she finished, she walked away, leaving me to figure out if my nails were dry. I left her a hefty tip for the good pedi she did though. When I got my keys out, the polish wasn't dry. She didn't hide her displeasure with me when she touched it up. After 2 days, my nail polish started chipping, and getting little pits. Not the toes though. I think four coats is too much, which included base coat, and something on top. I went back 4 days later, to ask them to redo the polish becuase it was cracking everywhere. Li, said I need to pay for new polish. I said no, they need to be redone. In my business experience,as an owner, I would apologize, and treat them politely, redo it. She then told me to never come back, as if I wanted too. I told her, all she had to do was apologize and be friendly. She was so rude to me, and I wasn't making a scene. Ofcourse I won't go back. I tipped the tech and thanked her. Why is it so hard to find a consistent nail salon in Daly City? Do people think we want to be treated like crap and pay them for it? read more

I got a gel manicure and gel pedicure-both for under $70, which is unheard of. The woman who did my nails was meticulous and detail oriented. I went in right when the place opened. I didn't have to wait long considering i was a walk in. They were going to start on me but didn't realize someone who was in the back getting waxed was also wanting a pedicure. I was bumped even though water was turned on to fill the foot tub. I was told i had to wait for another worker to come in. Feet stayed out of tub because water was shut off immediately. I waited. Girl comes in and asks me to take my shoes off. I did and placed them in basin. My feet were in the tub for 30 seconds before being pulled out and worked on. I thought that was way too soon and it showed. More like hurt when she cut cuticles and cleaned. Nothing was softened. The 2 other clients that started before me, I could see had there feet in the tub for much longer. I started 5 minutes after them and was finished way before polish was even applied on their toes. Super fast and not what i wanted. I work really hard, and a lot. My feet had been aching and i was really looking forward to my first pedicure since the shut down. I was disappointed. However, I will be back and give them another shot. Maybe I'll request one of the other ladies that actually put a little more time and effort into a great service. Place was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. Fingers crossed read more
