My favorite restaurant in nyc! Delicious, fun dishes and exceptional service. We had our anniversary dinner here and needed to wait 10ish minutes for a table to finish. The host (owner) was very transparent and gave us drinks to enjoy while we waited. When we sat down, he also immediately brought a delicious appetizer for us to enjoy while looking through the menu. All the vegetables are sourced from a specific farm they work with and are in season! Server went through all the menu options with us and shared incredible recommendations based on what we were looking for. Delicious non-alcoholic selection as well! Ambiance was incredible as well, very intimate and inviting. Just the right volume for music and not too crowded. Will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.

Zimmi's was the second new French West Village restaurant I tried during this visit to NYC, the other was Le Chene. It opened in December last year. It's a petite corner spot with a decent-sized menu which seems to change fairly often and is certainly more upscale than tradition French bistro fare. I ordered 4 dishes: 1) Legumes frits. Fresh veggies fried in a light and crispy tempura-like batter served with an anchovy-based aioli. 2) Soupe de celeri. Chilled celery soup, creamy but non-dairy, topped with creme fraiche. 3) Poulet printanier. Chicken with spring vegetables and lettuce. 4) Brown sugar meringue roulade with cherries and almond. I loved everything. The soup was perhaps the most traditional dish, and my least favourite, but still very good. If I lived nearby and had a large dining-out budget, I'd be here weekly.

Made a reservation for a weeknight a few weeks ahead and had a great meal here! Super tight spot and thus a little loud, but overall good vibes and excellent service. I started with the L'amour perse cocktail (great), then my friend and I ordered: + foie gras + salad d'agrumes + pasta Davia + Asperges aux deux vinaigrettes + Pain au levain + pomme frites + Rhubarb galette + Creme brûlée Top bites were the pasta and galette, followed by the foie gras, fries and creme brûlée. Bread was also great. 4.5 stars.

We had a wonderful meal at Zimmi's. The ambiance inside was very cozy yet upscale and transported us to Paris. Our server was incredibly knowledgeable and kind to us. They had a great selection of wine and I enjoyed my glass of Rhône. We then started with the Tarte Salle which incorporated octopus and other Mediterranean elements. It was out of my food comfort zone but I found it enjoyable and paired well with the wine. We then split the omelette and tagliatelle which were phenomenal. The ham in the omelette is all prepared in house and was outstanding. The tagliatelle was also very good. Overall, we had a great time at Zimmi's and I would definitely come back.

I came here for dinner one day and had a good time with my friend! Located in the west village, this French restaurant is bright, quaint, and both casual and romantic. Service was good as well. My friend and I got their pesto pasta and special chicken dish of the day. I absolutely loved their pesto pasta and would highly recommend. For their chicken, I thought that it was pretty good and loved the vegetables it came with, but thought that it was a bit too salty. Overall, not a bad spot for French cuisine.

Intimate, with charm on fleek. A hit out of the gate. This highly anticipated spot delivers French fare so expertly executed & divinely delicious. I walked in at 5:12 & scored a table. Seating is cozy emphatically so & this is a post covid type seating for sure, but the buzz in the room is real so be prepared. Water glasses are European sized. Ate: Sourdough bread & butter Ratatouille Salmon with beans & turnips Pave au chocolate The salmon & beans were incredible! The beans rivaled some of the top bean dishes I've tasted and I'm into my beans.the pave chocolate with crème anglais was petite perfection. Total: $89 before tip Also, service was so down to earth & unpretentious which is much appreciated.

Phenomenal from start to finish. Each dish was fantastic: Salad, Pesto pasta, swordfish, brown sugar meringue. Service topped it off, wine suggestions made it a memorable experience that compares to very little of late

Zimmi's has my heart! My boyfriend and I had stumbled upon Zimmi's on social media and could not wait to check out the menu! The ambiance and service are fantastic and the food is out of this world! We made a reservation a few weeks back and have been on the edge of our seat to try the food; upon our arrival we were quickly taken to our table (highly recommend making a reservation). We were then given our menus and asked if we wanted to kick-off with some drinks, I had a dirty martini (so perfect) and my boyfriend had a half bottle of Syrah (which was chilled and full of flavor) From there we placed our food order: Appetizers: - French fries (not on the menu, these fries blew our mind! Crispy and full of seasoning!) - Moules Farcies (these mussels are incredible! And trying to explain the flavor would not do it justice) order this dish!! Main courses: - Pasta Davia (the pesto alongside the beans just melted my heart! I am still dreaming about all the flavors) - Échine De Porc (my boyfriend said was something special that touched his soul and melted in his mouth) Dessert: - Pavé Au Chocolate (not my favorite, but if you like rich chocolate desserts then this would be right up your alley) the crème anglaise was wonderful and full of zest! I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed Zimmi's! If you are looking for the perfect date night restaurant in the West Village, look no further than Zimmi's

This was pretty incredible, even better than I expected going in. The citrus salad, Tarte, bread and butter, and especially the ratatouille were all excellent to start -- I'll be dreaming of that ratatouille. The tagliatelle and especially the lamb shoulder were also outstanding.

Zimmis completely exceeded expectations!! From the moment we arrived the entire staff was so so lovely our waiter was absolutely fantastic. Gave a run down of the menu and suggested the favorites but steered us in the perfect direction for the meal. Bread fabulous Pasta cooked to perfection and so flavorful Pork Chop is not too be missed and came with the most insane summer salad THE FRIES are pristine Madeleines made to order I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Recommend to anyone looking for incredible service and a beautiful evening!

It featured a crispy, sugar-glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior, topped with truffle cheese and served with a truffle butter dip; the pairing was superb, and it tasted great both on its own and with the dip. For the main course, I ordered the miso-glazed black cod. The flavor was flawless, and while the portion was small (which was acceptable), the pool of broth accompanying it was completely unnecessary; it was inedibly salty, so what was the point of serving it? After finishing the fish, I was left with a plate full of broth, rendering the plate unusable. Plus, it was overpriced; for this dish, you're better off going to Strip House Strip House remains the undisputed king of this dish in New York. A friend ordered the chicken parmesan. It was just average. Another friend ordered the short rib stroganoff. The flavor was decent, but it was far too rich and heavy. As someone whose palate is split 50/50 between Western and Chinese cuisine, I could manage only five bites at most. If you have a palate that prefers 100% Chinese food, proceed with caution on this dish. Friends ordered sides of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes. These are dishes originally meant for low-income Americans to fill up on cheaply; there's no limit to how good they can be, but also no floor to how bad they can get. Both were on par with the average quality found in upscale restaurants. Honestly, these are two dishes I would never order myself. To sum up: the atmosphere was great. It's also hard to get a reservation; the place was packed when we had lunch at 2 PM. Aside from that monkey bread, I didn't feel like anything else justified the price or offered something you couldn't find elsewhere. I don't quite get the hype. Perhaps I just didn't order the right dishes; maybe next time I'll try the burger and the steak.

The Thick Cut Bacon (8.5/10) was sweet, crunchy, and cooked perfectly. The Wagyu Cheeseburger (7.5/10) tasted good, but the bun was too dry, dense, and oversized for the burger. The King Crab Rangoon (8/10) was packed with crab, almost too much for my taste, but the sweet chili and hot mustard sauces balanced it out nicely. The Espresso Martini (6/10) was a pretty standard espresso martini. The Long Island Cold Brew (3/10) tasted like cold brew mixed with vodka, which just wasn't for me. Service was fine overall (7/10). The highlight was the complimentary sorbet they brought out for my friend's birthday. The vibes were classic Hogsalt with dim lighting, old-school jazz, and a cozy atmosphere (7/10).

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

It was our first time eating at a Friedman's location. It had a nice diner feel to it, with a mix of booths and tables. I like that several of the items are naturally gluten free, and some can be made gluten free by request. We decided to go with three breakfast items from the brunch menu: I got the shakshuka, my sister got the Nova Benny, and we got the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. All 3 dishes were great. The shashuka came with grilled ciabatta, perfect for dipping into the sunny side eggs and tomato sauce. My sister loved that the poached eggs and smoked salmon of the Nova Benny came on top of a crispy potato latke. The pancakes were fluffy and the lemon ricotta and lemon zest elevated their flavor.
