Nitesh did an amazing job in replacing a transmission other good mechanics wanted $3-5k. He did the job for half the lowest bid and secured an extended warranty on the transmission. It gets better. He did the work in only 3 days and had it ready on a Saturday. Nitesh also works on commercial vehicles and was fixing a beautiful custom bus when I visited for transmission replacement. His philosophy is wonderful; do good work for a reasonable price and let this serve as your advertising. I think many folks become repeat customers and I surely have. Nitesh is honest, works very hard and enjoys what he does...it shows. He won't attempt to fix anything not broken or overcharge, which has become commonplace these days. Even if you have a good mechanic already, you may find for transmission replacement, Nitesh gives you a better price and turnaround time. He's located across the street from the regional AAA towing office and has two separate service garages. His other staff are friendly and great mechanics. Most places let a car sit after it arrives, but Nitesh and another mechanic started looking at it as soon as the tow truck dropped it off, which I've never seen before. read more

Nitesh and his staff were very helpful in helping me identify my suspension issue on my Infiniti G37 coupe. What would have took all day at the dealer with outrageous diagnostics prices, Zip in Auto's rates and estimates were very fair and reasonable. It also helped that Nitesh was able to recommend a good coil over replacement for my car since my rear coil over shock had recently blown on me. Once I got my car back, I noticed that the car was sitting VERY low and was pretty much slammed to the ground. The car was scraping everywhere in San Jose once I started driving around for the next few hours. I brought the car back into the shop the next day (today) and Nitesh and his team not only provided me with a place to temporarily work remote in their office while they worked on my car, but Zip In Auto was able to readjust my coil over height and dampening settings in just under two hours. He even offered me complimentary wifi and water while I waited. Do not hesitate to do business with Zip in Auto. My overall experience was great with Nitesh and his team. This is an unusual review because I actually didn't use any of this company's services. So another mechanic told me I needed to have both my front and rear brakes replaced at a cost of around $1100. I decided to shop around and zip in auto give me a great quote of closer to $900. When I took the car in they pulled off the tires and looked at the brakes and told me I didn't need the brakes worked on for either set of brakes. Basically they told me I didn't need to pay them! Their honesty is kind of shocking to me but obviously I'm very happy. So while I didn't actually hire them today I definitely will be going back because I trust them. read more

My indicator light turned on that I had a brake light out. Not a good idea when driving around 4 counties for work with so many maniacs on the road. Not wanting to go to the dealership, I did a Yelp search for the necessary repair, close by. Nitesh was very quick to reply, on a Sunday!! My car battery was draining overnight and we couldn't figure out why. It got to the point that jump starting my car wasn't even an option even though the battery was 6mo old. Called AAA to come and charge the battery and they passed on Zip In's card with an impressive almost unbelievable referral. Called right away to see if they could take my car even with it being so late in the day they accepted it. Nitesh figured out the problem in just a few hours the next day and even spent time explaining the issue and what would be some good next moves. No charge for the diagnostic was mind blowing to me even though it took a few hours to figure out, running tests and pulling apart the dash. In the end it was an internal radio issue he was not able to help me with and suggested I go to the dealer.....Which I did.... and they charged me $250 and took 2 full days to figure out the issue even though I told them what they would find. But you know dealers... always have to find it on their own -_- and they didn't even do what I asked them to do when they found the issue and tried to charge me more.... but that's a rant for another day. Any way, I HIGHLY recommend Zip In Auto and Nitesh with his vast knowledge, super work ethic, dedication to his work and customers, great communication and transparency! read more

Wanted to have an alignement done to my car yesterday, I took it to a mechanic that has high yelp rating. They charged me 45 for inspection first,, then they told me my car need $700 dollars repair, and it will take 5 hours. In short, I quickly search for another mechanics on yelp and found Zip-in which quoted me once before. Since they have time to look into my car, I quickly went there. The owners are very nice there. They immediately started checking my car. And told me that they can fix my camber bolt for free. And they said if the car still need an alignment after the bolt is fix,they could help me with me. Wow, they are willing to help me to fix problem for free ?! At the end, they explained what was the issue and bill me very reasonably. i was a happy customer leaving with my car fixed in an hour's time. I don't know they before and glad that I know them now. Will take my car there first if there is any problem. I won't need to quote on yelp anymore. read more

So I sent out a message for how much it will cost for my corolla to be serviced. Yelp! sends it out to several repair shops. The owner gives me a price range which is fine so I asked for a specific price since I'm really shopping for the best deal. A couple Of shops responded with a fixed price for it already so I tried it with Zip In auto. Unfortunately the owner responds to me by telling me to go to the other shops instead. Very rude. What can I say about Nitesh and his guys. They came through once more for me as always. My engine light came on and my car was misfiring big time. Just like the other reviews, I needed work done quickly, and Nitesh lived up to his reputation as a miracle worker. I needed my front left Mercedes-Benz headlight replaced, and on this model, the entire wheel has to be removed to access the bulbs. He responded to my query for a quote the next morning, and was able to complete the work before 11:30am! I called Nitesh's shop on a Saturday around 4pm to get an oil change as I was leaving work in Cupertino. It took 1hr and 45mins to get from Cupertino to his shop from Highway 85 because they closed down the freeway due to a police incident. To say that was frustrating is an understatement. It took me almost two hours to go roughly 6 miles. When I finally arrived, it was about 10 mins to close and I explained why it took so long to get there. ( I called around 4 to tell him I was coming in). Mind you, it's Saturday. Without hesitation, he said he would help me out. It's amazing how humanity works like that. Here is someone who works 7 days a week and late Saturday he decides to stay later to help me out. I was blown away by his kindness, hard work, and dedication to his customers. I typically have a difficult time reading mechanics because I don't speak car language, but Nitesh approaches his business by forming a trusting relationship with his customers. I value that immensely. After he changed my oil, he even checked a censor light in my car. It turned out to be a tire pressure thing (the spare tire!!) He filled that up as well. No shortcuts were taken. His willingness to help and go above and beyond to form a bond with me is huge reason I will go back. Nitesh is very forthcoming and honest about price and mechanical issues. My car's control arm bushing has some signs of wear and tear. He helped me checked it, bringed me to the car and showed me the issue, and gave me honest advices. Besides giving me a decent quote, he actually suggested me to fix it a year later instead of immediately, because it's still in decent shape. This is sharply different from other mechanics, who always urge me replace parts with small signs fo wearout. I apprectiate Nitesh's way of doing business and would recommend his shop. read more

+5 for honesty. My Porsche Boxster's check engine light came on and I was in a hurry because the registration renewal deadline was only 10 days away. My OBD2 scanner showed a P1486 code. Nitesh ran some diagnostics on the car and assured me that it would pass smog although my scanner (BlueDriver) kept insisting that it won't. So he advised me to take it in for smog check and come back only after the check engine light came back on (I had reset the error code before I went to him - long story...). He did not charge me anything for the service since, he said, he couldn't do a full diagnostic until the code came back on. The error code may never come back (because I suspect it could have been due to the poorly seated coolant cap - thanks to my previous mechanic - which I had reseated earlier before resetting the code) but I will take the car back to them for regular maintenance regardless. read more
