I brought my Hyundai Elantra in for an A/C diagnostic because the system was blowing warm air. I dropped the vehicle off around 9:30 AM and was told they would "get right on it." I understand shops get busy, this location is "first come first served", and I don't expect anyone to magically make time appear or drop everything to check out the new car. I don't work there and I walked in, so I have no idea what things look like behind the scenes. The issue wasn't that they were busy, it was that the expectations set didn't reflect reality. After walking around the area for about an hour after drop-off, I returned and noticed my vehicle was still sitting in the same guest parking spot at the side of the building where I had left it. By 11:00 (after waiting over 90 minutes/nearly two hours from drop-off) with no phone call update and no apparent movement of the vehicle, I went to the front desk to ask about the status. Shortly after I asked, the vehicle was brought into the shop and I was assured the diagnostic would take "about" 30 minutes. It ended up taking closer to 50 before I got up again to ask about an update. My main frustration was not the diagnosis itself, but the communication and expectations throughout the process. Everyone I interacted with was polite and reasonable, but I was given the same optimistic timeline despite the shop evidently being backed up. If I had been told up front that it would be hours before the vehicle would be moved, let alone looked at, I would have planned my morning differently. I do want to clarify that the issue wasn't attitude or service, it was a lack of clear and realistic communication. Better coordination internally and more honest timelines for customers would make a big difference. read more

We have been taking our car here for a while. One occasion we noticed a sound after we took our car in and we took it back and they said ok we fixed it problem solved. We've spent thousands of dollars here we were beginning to be suspicious of continuous problems. Finally we took our car to Firestone where they found a whole lot of mistakes made by Zip Zap. Here's a list of the BAD WORK they've done. They installed the break pads backwards Improperly installed the brake sensor And then the time before that they installed the calipers improperly which damaged the break drum. We try to support family owned or smaller businesses so we stayed too long and wasted our money. Instead of texting customers for 5 star reviews so your daddy will give you your bonus, how about you earn it and make sure your mechanics are doing PROPER work. This is absolutely ridiculous. Thousands of dollars wasted and more spent fixing it. Beware, they hire mechanics that have no clue what they are doing. read more

Honestly I couldn't have asked for better service. My 2012 Nissan Maxima started over heating an hour outside of Las Vegas and needed to be towed into Zip Zap. I was concerned since I have had a regular mechanic since I rolled my car of the lot brand new. We dropped it of around 5 pm on a Friday and she was ready the next with a new thermostat etc!! All I can say is WHAAAAAAAT?! The aesthetic and service level of this establishment are way beyond most shops I've been to. They serve fresh baked cookies and have a coffee and tea station sent from up above. There are also beverages available in a cooler. I came here on a whim after work to get an oil change for my 350z. I didn't even need to ring the bell. Joey came right up to greet me when he was available. The oil change was a little pricey but the added touches of a nice lobby, helpful service and of course refreshments made the price not sting as bad. I could have saved $40 elsewhere but there is value in supporting this business for sure. They don't argue or haggle either from my experience. We had a bunch of lights come on in our car and took it here because it was the only place open after 6p. The next day they called us saying we need to pay $1,500 to replace our fuel pump. We said the dealership said it was still under warranty so we'd just come pick it up and they were very pushy about their payment plans and to come back if the dealership didn't cover it in warranty. Turns out Zip Zap erased all the codes in our car so the dealership can't file for a rental car or diagnosis to put under warranty. It doesn't make any sense to erase codes that haven't been fixed especially if we told them we were taking it to be fixed somewhere else. The whole thing feels malicious and underhanded after asking for premium pricing and pushing a payment plan we wanted nothing to do with. read more

I like the environment (complimentary concession station) and the employees are friendly and soft spoken. I went to ZipZap Auto for a basic oil change, and I caught them trying to scam me multiple times. The oil change itself was already overpriced at $119. Then they told me my cabin air filter was dirty and asked if I wanted it replaced. I agreed, assuming it would be a normal-priced service. Instead, they tried charging me an outrageous $85 for the filter. When I told them that price was ridiculous and asked them to remove it, the owner suddenly changed her tune and agreed to lower it to $35. But here's where things became completely unacceptable: while I was outside waiting for my keys, I caught the technician and the owner together removing the clean new filter and attempting to put my filthy old filter back into my car after we had already agreed I was paying for the new one. The second they realized I saw them, both looked startled, and suddenly the new filter went back into the vehicle. To be clear, the technician appeared to just be following the owner's direction. The real problem is the culture and business practices being enforced there. There wasn't a misunderstanding, they were blatantly dishonest! If I hadn't walked up when I did, they would have charged me for a new filter while sending me out the door with the dirty one still installed. Customers should not have to supervise mechanics to make sure the work they paid for is actually being done honestly. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend others be cautious of the dishonest practices and lack of integrity this business displays. I for one will not be returning. read more

I will always recommend this place for repairs and services. They're reasonable, friendly, and so good at explaining what needs to be done, why, and how we should prioritize if the repairs are too much to handle at one time. They were honest with us years ago about their recommendations when our newly out of warranty car had a catastrophic engine failure even when they could have pushed us to pay for repairs that would just put off the inevitable. All this and being 24 hours... you really can't beat them. read more

The guys at Zip Zap Auto are genuine, hard-working, and kind people. I've been taking my car to their shop for smog tests for years (and can we talk about their full free beverage and snack station for those who need to wait in their lobby??! Incredible. Just a really small feature that makes you feel taken care of in a business that is often frustrating and can be predatory.) They're not in this business just to prey on issues that "pop up" when you take your car in for something unrelated. If there is a mistake on their end (because let's admit it, we are human, mistakes can and very well could happen!) they will go out of their way to fix their mistake, own up to it, and do what they can to be open and honest with their customer about the situations. I recently took in an Audi A3 (if you know anything about German automotives, you know how much time and work they take for the simplest things and not all mechanics have the capability or tools to work on them) and when they found out it had an issue that was - in reality - not a very fixable one, they really talked me through the issue and what their opinion on what the best direction to take was. It wasn't the option that made them money. It was the option that helped me in the long run. I did end up having to purchase a new car, but you know that they'll be the first ones I take my new one to for anything and everything! I cannot thank them enough for the kindness they showed me in that time of frustration and the fact that they didn't try to upsell me on anything is such a breath of fresh air in a business where value doesn't always matter as long as money pools in their pockets. I got my car worked on by a man named Ray amazing dude very nice and makes it very simple to deal with things.

I have been using their services for about 2 years. Sometime in 2022, they gave me a good rate on changing the water pump, lower than other places. So I came in running when I got the "check engine " light on. On December 27th they did a tune-up, etc. On August 13th I got that light again. Came back and found the office spruced up but something changed for the worse. Every time you have to leave your car. Price started at $1600 even after they admitted that the spark plugs they installed went bad. But I got a discount of $108 for it! Ended up with a $1400 bill. Every time I go they charge more and more. After the repair was done, I found out that the engine cover went missing along with a lid on the windshield liquid container. Almost a week later, after ordering the part at "their own expense " it was installed and this was the last time I stepped into that mess! read more

I brought my 2011 Ford Ranger in and they ran a diagnostics check which went according to plan with what I told them was wrong and what they told me needed to be fixed after looking at it. After that, they told me they will order the parts and it would be done by 5 o'clock. I brought it in at 11 o'clock. They changed out three universal joints and the transfer case module. After said and done, they called me around 4:40 and they said that my truck was ready. I go down there and look at my truck up and down left and right and they did an amazing job. The only thing that I would say that I didn't like is they cross threaded a bolt on the plate that covers the transfer case but I can fix it It's fine. thank you again. read more
