The guys at Zip Zap Auto are genuine, hard-working, and kind people. I've been taking my car to their shop for smog tests for years (and can we talk about their full free beverage and snack station for those who need to wait in their lobby??! Incredible. Just a really small feature that makes you feel taken care of in a business that is often frustrating and can be predatory.) They're not in this business just to prey on issues that "pop up" when you take your car in for something unrelated. If there is a mistake on their end (because let's admit it, we are human, mistakes can and very well could happen!) they will go out of their way to fix their mistake, own up to it, and do what they can to be open and honest with their customer about the situations. I recently took in an Audi A3 (if you know anything about German automotives, you know how much time and work they take for the simplest things and not all mechanics have the capability or tools to work on them) and when they found out it had an issue that was - in reality - not a very fixable one, they really talked me through the issue and what their opinion on what the best direction to take was. It wasn't the option that made them money. It was the option that helped me in the long run. I did end up having to purchase a new car, but you know that they'll be the first ones I take my new one to for anything and everything! I cannot thank them enough for the kindness they showed me in that time of frustration and the fact that they didn't try to upsell me on anything is such a breath of fresh air in a business where value doesn't always matter as long as money pools in their pockets. I really wanted to rate this business with five stars. I had a nail in a tire I needed to fix... I was greeted with smiles and everybody was very very friendly, and I was in and out in ten minutes (!), but.... The tech's hands were filthy dirty. He left hands prints all over the car, and worse, all over the steering wheel (so then it was on MY hands). Cmon man.... Also, $30 to patch a tire seems excessive? Things cost a lot more than they used to so I'm not sure. read more

Norman is an experienced Technician! he takes the time to explain and patiently answer questions that I have. I like the environment (complimentary concession station) and the employees are friendly and soft spoken. I would have liked the initial fee to be cheaper, as of this review it is $240, they apply portion of it to your service if you end up needing service. $240 is steep. read more

They're reasonable, friendly, and so good at explaining what needs to be done, why, and how we should prioritize if the repairs are too much to handle at one time. They were honest with us years ago about their recommendations when our newly out of warranty car had a catastrophic engine failure even when they could have pushed us to pay for repairs that would just put off the inevitable. All I can say is WHAAAAAAAT?! The aesthetic and service level of this establishment are way beyond most shops I've been to. They serve fresh baked cookies and have a coffee and tea station sent from up above. There are also beverages available in a cooler. I came here on a whim after work to get an oil change for my 350z. I didn't even need to ring the bell. Joey came right up to greet me when he was available. The oil change was a little pricey but the added touches of a nice lobby, helpful service and of course refreshments made the price not sting as bad. I could have saved $40 elsewhere but there is value in supporting this business for sure. They don't argue or haggle either from my experience. If you say no, they take it as a no and just accept the business you are giving them. read more

I went to ZipZap Auto for a basic oil change, and I caught them trying to scam me multiple times. The oil change itself was already overpriced at $119. Then they told me my cabin air filter was dirty and asked if I wanted it replaced. I agreed, assuming it would be a normal-priced service. Instead, they tried charging me an outrageous $85 for the filter. When I told them that price was ridiculous and asked them to remove it, the owner suddenly changed her tune and agreed to lower it to $35. But here's where things became completely unacceptable: while I was outside waiting for my keys, I caught the technician and the owner together removing the clean new filter and attempting to put my filthy old filter back into my car after we had already agreed I was paying for the new one. The second they realized I saw them, both looked startled, and suddenly the new filter went back into the vehicle. To be clear, the technician appeared to just be following the owner's direction. The real problem is the culture and business practices being enforced there. There wasn't a misunderstanding, they were blatantly dishonest! If I hadn't walked up when I did, they would have charged me for a new filter while sending me out the door with the dirty one still installed. Customers should not have to supervise mechanics to make sure the work they paid for is actually being done honestly. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend others be cautious of the dishonest practices and lack of integrity this business displays. I for one will not be returning. read more

Most recently, I went in with a scary dash alert about engine pressure, and they were able to get me in on a Saturday, determine the issue, and get back to me with a plan in the early afternoon. They open 24/7 so we were able to bring in the car after work. They have a drink and snack station to enjoy while you wait, which is a nice touch. DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my car in for a flush, first guy i spoke to said he'd do it and then offered to take a look at something else and said the diagnostic fee would go towards the flush. Didn't hear from anyone all day until I called them and another mechanic proceeded to try and tell me that my head gasket is blown (the car runs fine and was just at prestige dodge for a diagnostic, so if that were actually the case they would've been the first to try and sell me a new engine) and he refused to do the flush and just said get a new engine or take the car back where I got it and charged me $240 for nothing. ALSO they didn't screw my coolant lid on and it was sprayed everywhere under the hood when I got home and my hood was covered in oily fingerprints. I feel robbed and gaslit. read more

I have been using their services for about 2 years. Sometime in 2022, they gave me a good rate on changing the water pump, lower than other places. So I came in running when I got the "check engine " light on. On December 27th they did a tune-up, etc. On August 13th I got that light again. Came back and found the office spruced up but something changed for the worse. Every time you have to leave your car. Price started at $1600 even after they admitted that the spark plugs they installed went bad. But I got a discount of $108 for it! Ended up with a $1400 bill. Every time I go they charge more and more. After the repair was done, I found out that the engine cover went missing along with a lid on the windshield liquid container. Almost a week later, after ordering the part at "their own expense " it was installed and this was the last time I stepped into that mess! read more

Russ was able to take it off. It was surprising to find a auto shop open at 3 am. Russ is a very nice and goes the extra mile. I brought my 2011 Ford Ranger in and they ran a diagnostics check which went according to plan with what I told them was wrong and what they told me needed to be fixed after looking at it. After that, they told me they will order the parts and it would be done by 5 o'clock. I brought it in at 11 o'clock. They changed out three universal joints and the transfer case module. After said and done, they called me around 4:40 and they said that my truck was ready. I go down there and look at my truck up and down left and right and they did an amazing job. The only thing that I would say that I didn't like is they cross threaded a bolt on the plate that covers the transfer case but I can fix it It's fine. thank you again. read more

GET A SECOND OPINION!!! Let me tell you about the experience I had at Zip Zap Auto. I take my car in a month ago for an AC job. Guy at the front desk, Dimitri, promises me that it should be an easy fix and should get it back that day. I wait around for 3 hours before the lady at the front desk tells me this is going to be longer than expected and to go home and they will call me. As soon as I get home, they call me to tell me it is going to cost $1100 to fix my AC. Parts are only $450 and because they have to go through my dash to replace my expansion valves, labor, taxes/ fees would be $650. Nobody calls me the next day, so I have to call to check the status. They tell me the good news that my compressor is in working condition. They ordered the wrong part, and they should have it back to me the next day. They tell me that they will give me a discount for the trouble of having a one-day job turn into a 3-day job and for forgetting to call me. I was told that they will take 10% off but only took off $15 (They discounted on 1 item, not total price). Total cost of $1085 for an AC repair plus warranty. AC starts going in and out--blowing hot air at stops and cold air when driving. Took it back because it's under warranty, however they made claims that it is the compressor that needs to be replaced for over $1900 plus labor. Getting a second option, another auto shop diagnosed saying if they compressor did go out, I would have no cold air blowing. My thermostat is set to 74 degrees, but air is blowing out at 50 degrees. When they went through my dash of my car, they messed up my thermostat switch: overloading the compressor. I go to pick up my car and the technician, who we assume is the owner, is really adamant about showing what the issue is. He introduces me to the mechanic that worked on my car a month ago Jason. Jason does not say much, but the owner that worked on my car today is really trying to sell me a compressor. Then he lies to me saying they NEVER went through my dash. Jason then disappears. The owner then keeps saying he has no idea why they would do that. Instead of asking Jason, tells me Dmitri lied to me, but does not want to call him because it is his day off. I have to wait for him to do a recharge on my AC, but he literally drains the freon and threatens me that this would only last me for 1 more month. Which is funny because that is how long my AC lasted before it went out again. He then tells me, he will give me a compressor half off, free of labor. He swears he will talk to Dmitri tomorrow. He keeps calling Dmitri a liar saying he was the one who worked on my car, which we both know Dmitri just works the front desk. After all the lies, I drive away, and my car starts blowing hot air. read more
