Excellent friendly service it was worth our drive out to Nu'uanu. The only closer Zippy's is in Pearl City. We were nearby we decided to eat out, it's been awhile since we did eat at vineyard We share one meals plentiful and delicious ! Dessert custard pie was great ... haven't Hafu dessert for awhile! !

I tried the Friday Special for the month of February. It was the Hawaiian Plate and it was massive. Beef Stew, Kalua Pig, Lau Lau, a scoop of mac salad, and two scoops of rice. There is one day this month to order and if you do...come hungry. At $20, it is a satisfying meal. I could not finish the mac salad...not my fav side dish as it is.

So it's been quite a few years since I e been to this Zippy's, or any Zippy's as a matter of fact but since I know Joe K has never been to a Zippy's and we wanted a quick and nearby place lunch, Zippy's we went. I'd seen some ads on the limited time "Wrecking Crew" pac to help promote the movie so was all in on that. The other thing I was craving was chicken katsu so also got a Chicken Katsu plate. Many decades ago this location was one of the best fast food katsu plates around. Sad to say that's long been the case. The W.C. pac was ok, the thing I liked most about it was that it came with chili...another thing I've always enjoyed from Zippy's. The rest of the plate was a pile of rice with furikake, a breaded piece of fish that I'd never heard of before (hoki), a piece of fried chicken, and four pieces of Portuguese sausage, and of course a scoop of mac salad for good measure. All in all it was pretty mediocre but it did hit the spot. Will I be rushing back to eat here again? Probably not, unless it's for some Naples and Flaky Donuts. Those mofos are da BOMB!

Zippy's is a Hawaii institution. I have lived in Hawaii for 19 years and this was my first experience having Zippy's. Mostly because I live on Kauai where there isn't one. I always intended to eat here when visiting Oahu ...just something else always came. So...long over due. Busy as heck and only one person taking orders. And of course there was a problem with the customers before us. Ugh. Aunty at the register took it in stride and even helped the trouble makers carry their food to the car. Strange though...abandoning one's post with a HUGE line of hungry (equals grumpy) people. The take out area is huge and soul less which is fine for what it is. This area also has a Napoleon Bakery. We ordered a special "Wrecking Crew" movie tie in plate and a Chicken Katsu plate. The former included a piece of fried chicken, fried fish, Portuguese sausage, chili, Mac salad, and furikake rice. Everything super tasty. The katsu had Mac and 2 scoops rice. Good but nothing special.

They immediately served us water with our menus. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Breakfast which came with two eggs, Korean fried chicken, rice, and I chose SPAM as the protein. It was so good! The chicken was sweet and tender with a crispy outside, the rice and spam paired super well. The egg was a little undercooked but I didn't specify. My dad ordered the Lilikoi drink which was really sweat and tasted amazing. It was super refreshing. Our meals were $16-20 each and they had a lot of food. I had enough leftovers for a second full meal. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the service was very friendly.

Visited the take out counter service on Christmas Day. Gotta give credit to the local staple for being open and serving only onolicious food! Friendliest service from Ramona at the order window! She greeted me with a cheery "Merry Christmas!", took my order and repeated it back to me, was quick, friendly and professional! Made my morning! Ordered the turkey plate (a special with all the traditional fixings), a fried chix plate and a regular chili bowl! Order was accurate, food temp was hot and tasted onolicious! Mahalo Zippy's Vineyard for the always quick, accurate and friendly service! Shout out to Ramona! You made me smile and made my day!

Had a craving for some Zippy's chili and their Saimin so I found the closest location to my daughter's house. It's an easy to find and accessible location on the corner with a ton of parking. It's a large well lit location. I love the digital boards that show you the status of your order. I also love the locker system they have. The service was quick and friendly and I was in out in no time.

10-4-25 Saturday nite the line was waiting outside the door for the restaurant. Not many places were open late so we chose here as it was on the way home and Sweetie requested noodles and sushi. Since one party before us signed up with 20 people we decided to do the take out order window to the left. We ordered the Ohana Pack to feed 6 of us but by the time we got to Sweetie's house Bud had already fallen asleep & her dad was ready for bed after he congratulated her for their win at a competition. More food for 4 of us- the Korean fried chicken and fried noodles were excellent. It also came with tossed salad and chili. The parking lot was pretty full and that late at night at this location there were many homeless men lying on the sidewalk at the parking entrance. Some began howling and making it the perfect scenario for fright night. Once our order was ready, time to Hele On, quickly. We hastened to jump in the car without hesitation and be on our way.

My first time at a Zippy's and honestly was pleasantly surprised with the food. The food is really tasty, comes out warm and fast. We ordered the chicken trio and the zip combo. They cook their chicken super crispy and I was also really impressed by the fish that came in mine! Service is friendly and fast, but the location could really use a clean up. It's quite dirty inside so I'd suggest taking your food to go!

Zippy's is always the to go place if you are looking for something that's a causal dinning eat. Even the food is not that good, but I will still give it a 4 star because the spacious spaces and the short wait for food. Grilled salmon w/ sweet corn 2.5/5 The salmon is overcooked with lack of flavor. If you are looking for something that's "healthy", sure; but I won't get it again just because it has no taste. Spaghetti w/ meat sauce 3/5 My always to go food if I am craving for spaghetti but don't want to go to actual pasta restaurants. The portion is pretty decent for such an affordable price, but the taste can't be compare to regular pasta restaurants. Korean fried chicken salad 5/5 One of the must order, local favor dishes. The fried chicken is fried perfectly that's not overcooked, but crispy and flavorful. It has this sweet but savory taste that can't be found in other fried chicken favor.

Zipping in... Really needed to stop by to pick up dinner and something sweet and though that Zippy's would be the perfect place to do both as they certainly do have just about everything you can imagine and all in one spot does make it convenient though parking in the back is quite small and can imagine it could fill up during peak hours but had no idea that this location had a drive through pick up which is quite bougie and convenient lol! Love the vibe as I walked in to the take out section is nice and spacious the staff here is nice as the line started to form they quickly asked for additional check out so that I didn't have to wait long to put in my order. Lots to choose from even special are always offered in all locations the simple fried chicken is the classic favorite besides their simian which they do separate the soup for you if you choose but don't forget to put in your phone number for your rewards as they didn't ask as I rushed to order and forgot myself but got my order in a timely manner. Thank you!

This was our first stop to eat at when we landed in Honolulu because it's nostalgic and it never disappoints when it comes to mixed plate lunches. This location has both the outside area where you can walk up to order your food at the window for take out with limited tables , but around the corner of the building is the indoor restaurant that is spacious with plenty of seating and offers more menu options. We ended up dining outside as we were there to eat and head over to the hotel right after. The Zip Pac Deluxe is one of our go-tos because it has a little bit of everything. We also got the the Chicken Trio and Chicken Katsu. My favorite was the crispy fried chicken, so Ono! We will always be a fan of Zippy's because their food is always consistent, affordable, and portions are generous!

    Korean Fried Chicken Platter
    Mai K.

Service is excellent at this Zippy. Safer area and lots of parking. Fried chicken and Korean fried chicken platters are our favorites. Oxtail soup can be better. Please, skim the fat from the surface of the soup and go less on the peanuts but more on the greens. Most people will experience stomachaches after consumption if the grease is not skimmed from the soup. Consider using the big Chinese mustard rather than pea tips or young green mustards. Fresh cilantro plays a huge role in presentation and taste.

I have no idea what they are thinking having the dining area not be open 24/7 like the drive through. If they just made the whole restaurant open 24 hours, it would be a lot easier... Instead, mobile orders are picked up at the drive-thru OR you stand outside and wait for your order, which by the way, doesn't seem to be started UNTIL you arrive! Pointless. If you go after their dining room closes, be prepared to wait in a mile long drive-thru line, regardless if you mobile ordered or not... OR bang on the door to flag down an employee to show them your order on your phone. Basically, you'll see a long ass drive-thru line snaking onto Beretania and a bunch of people waiting outside if you go after hours. Honestly, it seems like they are being cheap by not scheduling more workers on the night shift... Poor employees look so overwhelmed!!! The chicken skin had a nice crunch to it and the meat was juicy (not super oily, but juicy.) The mashed potatoes and gravy weren't bad. They were not super fluffy but a little more on the dense side. (Nothing bad, just dense.) The gravy was somewhat runny with just the right amount of saltiness. The spaghetti was surprisingly good! It's been a few years since I've gone to a Jolly Bee and I had imagined the spaghetti to only be sweet and savory. It was actually pretty good! (Not in an Italian way though. It was a little spicy, which I loved! I wasn't expecting it to be spicy so it was a very pleasant surprise! It was a tad sweet...just the right amount! (There isn't a 3-piece combo on the menu, but the server was kind enough to accommodate my request for an extra piece of chicken.) It came with a container of gravy that made me wonder what it was for, immediately. Then I remembered all the commercials and YouTube videos where food reviewers either slathered their chicken with the gravy or they dunked it into the gravy. I was so hungry that I forgot for a few seconds that the gravy was for the chicken, thus I drank most of the gravy!! The dining area is constantly cleaned and draws a diverse crowd. Because it is at the beginning of downtown it does attract some homeless people as well. But, that's life in the big city, right? I arrived around 5:40 PM, but getting into the parking lot took longer than expected because of the very long drive-thru line and limited parking. Once inside, I waited about 5 minutes at the counter before anyone acknowledged me. I was the only customer waiting inside. I even stood near the online pickup area for a while, hoping someone would ask if I needed help, but several employees walked by without acknowledging me. Two cashiers looked in my direction multiple times but continued their conversation instead of checking whether I was waiting for an order. I finally interrupted to let them know I was there for an online pickup and gave them my name. Unfortunately, there seemed to be confusion about my order. One employee pointed to another, who then pointed back to the first employee while continuing to prepare food. No one was able to tell me whether my order was ready. Thankfully, an employee wearing a different colored shirt (a manager I'm assuming) noticed I hadn't been helped. She immediately apologized, asked for my name, checked on my order, and informed the kitchen that more chicken needed to be prepared. Shortly after, another manager also stepped in, apologized, and helped get everything together. I finally left with my order at 6:09 PM, nearly 40 minutes after my scheduled pickup time. The food was fresh, delicious, and the restaurant itself was clean, which is why I'm giving 5 stars for the food and cleanliness. However, this isn't the first time I've had to wait an unusually long time just to be acknowledged for an online pickup. In the past, my food has at least been ready once someone finally helped me. This visit was different because not only was I ignored, but my order also wasn't ready. I understand that restaurants are fast-paced environments and that unexpected staffing shortages can happen if someone calls out sick. However, there appeared to be plenty of staff working during my visit. My concern wasn't the number of employees--it was the lack of communication, urgency, and teamwork. I believe additional customer service and workflow training could help employees become more productive and ensure that customers, especially those picking up online orders, are acknowledged promptly. A simple greeting such as, "We'll be right with you," or "Let me check on your order," would have made a significant difference. Good communication goes a long way and leaves customers feeling valued, even during busy times.

For about $16 you get a heavily portioned plate with two scoops of rice, mixed green salad, asparagus, and a nicely cooked ahi steak. The garlic are actual cloves that have been cooked long enough to soften them and take away that bite without removing the garlicky goodness. The bomb sauce adds a bit of creaminess to round out the plate. They're a bit of a hole in the wall, takeout ideally due to the limited parking in front and seating. Menu is vast and they are open late/early. You can even get lobster here! For the prices, you'd easily pay $30 for the seafood options and portions at fancier establishments. So I consider upscale Hawaii a steal, just don't expect ambiance...it's all about the food.

The food. I ordered the furikake ahi. It comes with mixed greens and asparagus. There also is some "bomb sauce". It's nice and creamy with a slight hint of heat. The furikake ahi was nicely prepared. It wasn't overcooked. It was done almost perfect. I like to see some rawness in the middle but it was close. It was really good and I was quite surprised. The asparagus too was really good. It wasn't overcooked where it's mushy or undercooked where it's hard. Prepared perfectly. I'm not a veggie person but the dressing was really good. Not exactly sure what type of dressing it was but it came with it. So no Thousand Island, Ranch, French, Italian or your Oil and Vinegar. It was really good. I just wish they gave a little more. Overall it was a really good and satisfying meal. It compares well with a restaurant like Nicos. Just not the same atmosphere and you're probably going to wanna take it home to eat. Lots of parking in the very early morning as every place else is closed. They are open 24 hours. A rarity after covid came and went. So if you're looking for someplace open late night or early morning serving a good furikake ahi this is your place. Give them a try. It's worth the price at under $20. There are many other offerings to choose from and will probably try something else from here. They also do offer a mixed plate where you can have two choices off their regular menu board. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the menu. Maybe next time I'm here. The person that took my order was really nice. She was an elderly Filipina. She was very nice and pleasant especially at working this very early morning. I think her name was ate Letti or maybe auntie Letti. Very good service.

I didn't expect much from this small corner diner, but everything turned out real solid! I would also like to compliment the workers, who were very nice and approachable! We ordered the loco moco plate, mixed plate, and saimin. Both plates were very filling and came in huge portions! The plates are for sure a top choice if you want a nice, hearty dinner! I especially enjoyed my loco moco! The saimin was less filling and came in an instant noodle cup. Still yet, it wasn't half bad--and it actually seems like a fairly good piece if you are on a diet or budget; it wasn't as expensive as the other dishes and only came out as 220 calories! I also want to note that they have a variety of tasty dessert pastries and icee treats if you are looking for a treat after your dinner. Overall, I would say this is a great diner to try if you've got a big appetite and are looking for something to share with a friend or family! Great vibes and great Hawaiian plate meals!

I also like to order from the app because there are always deals or combos you can get at an app exclusive price. I also enjoy collecting rewards points for free food one day. These definitely come in handy when you're short in cash one week and needing a little pick me up! I ordered the chicken sandwich times two for my roomies to share and one order came with fries. I was able to choose another frosty for the drink option. I didn't try the sandwich myself but my roommate said it was really good quality.

We were actually supposed to get a caesar salad but got a Cobb salad, I said it was fine. However, the multiple strands of hair in the salad made me throw everything away. When we called the manager he said they would remake it, I had already said we weren't driving back. Especially after what we just had. I asked for a refund, he said he'd call the district manager to see if we were able to. Didn't ask for my name or number to get back to me, just said to call back later. Been coming here for years, not coming back which is disappointing but now I see why there's so many 1 star reviews

Wendy's - Wendy's cinnabon dessert. 45 minutes in the drive thru, order completely wrong, what food I did get is infested with a fly.

I didn't eat at Fat Cheeks too often but every time I went, their lobster rolls were fire…read more My friend and I ordered a Lobster Smash Cheese Burger, french fries, and their signature Buttered Lobster (3.5oz) Roll with a side of coca-cola. The lobster cheeseburger was nice but the lobster roll was better. The amount of lobster and the toasted buttered bun, are so good. We hope that Fat Cheeks finds a new location.

@fortunefoodfinds: "Gonna try not to FRY n' hope for BUTTER days ahead! June 24th marks the last…read moreday that FAT CHEEKS HAWAII will be open at the Ward Center. No news yet on where they'll be relocating, but I'm hopeful that I'll get to see them again soon. With that said, we couldn't miss catching them one last time before they close n' I must say, each visit we seriously inhale their food bc it is so good. Ordered my go-to Lobster Double Smash Cheeseburger, a Buttered Lobster Roll, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich (sauce on side), side of their bombdiggity crispy Fries, n' Fat Cheeks Sauce + Ranch for dipping. If their grindz are something you've been thinking about, tomorrow is your last chance from 11am to sell out!" SERVICE: friendly n' fully staffed INTERIOR: limited tables n' chairs in AC building EXTERIOR: good amount of tables n' chairs, on Roger Dunn side, gets hot out WAIT TIME: with news that they are closing, it seems their final days have had tremendous support. Visited on Father's Day, arrived in line at 11:15am. Placed order at register at 11:56am. Received food 15-20 mins later. PARKING: free garages OVERALL COMMENTS: my review has been long overdue. I remember when I first came across them at Ohana Hale Marketplace n' have been visiting ever since. When I heard that their current spot at the Ward Center was closing, I was so bummed but knew I had to make one last visit bc it is unknown if I'll get to eat their bomb food again. My must have is the lobster cheeseburger, the best of both worlds, so delicious. The lobster roll is simple, yet buttery n' meaty. The chicken sandwich comes with huge chicken pieces n' is crispy n' not dry. Their fries are the best of the best + with their sauces makes it even more bomb. Gonna cross my fingers to see where they open next, n' I'll definitely be there!
