    Least famous shakes
    Farah S.

We decided to stop in for something to eat. We walked up to the counter, and there were a couple of people standing around and we decided on our order and then proceeded to attempt to order only to be told we aren't taking orders right now, our staff left for the parade. We thought that was very nice to pause for a moment to let your staff go and enjoy a fun activity that was right outside of the restaurant. They were back within a few minutes and they began taking orders. We didn't mind the short wait and we appreciated that the owners knew it was important to give their staff a little break. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have restrooms available for patrons, that are clean and tidy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is in the back and along the street to the north, but nothing is available in the front so be aware of that. Handicap parking is in the back. They have a typical shake shack style menu and a few fun things, including Dole whip, the Disneyland style. They have a classic Bear Lake raspberry shake. You can get fish, burgers, chicken, and even corn dogs. Entrée items are sold separate from things like fries, tater tots, and onion rings. They also have sweet potato fries. We decided to each order a different side so that we could all try each other's. The fries, sweet potato fries and the onion rings are fantastic. Those are what we ordered. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can sit inside of a boat, at a traditional table with chairs, on a bench with a fun wooden hand, carved table, underneath a umbrella and a round table. There are pretty much plenty of options for receiving.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have what they call a sauce bar, which is a collection of different types of sauces for your sides. It's fun to choose a few different ones and taste them all with your sides. We had the Bear Lake Muenster burger, the cheeseburger, a corn dog, and the honey chipotle chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich and the corndog were great. The Muenster burger was pretty good, but the cheeseburger was nothing to write home about - it was undercooked and they used American cheese instead of cheddar cheese, which isn't my favorite and made it a lot more bland. It had hardly any sauce on it And there was only one tomato on. It was a very large sandwich but not a lot of flavor. The buns they use are fantastic but know that they are a softer bun so if you don't like a soft bun you may not like their sandwich, so just get it without a bun and eat it with a fork and knife Items can be made gluten-free, it didn't appear they had anything in term of vegan options other than the sides, but I'm sure they would make something custom. When they took our order, they were extremely friendly and they were very fast when it came to our food getting to us. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a place to play games in the back that includes cornhole, a giant connect 4 game, and just enjoying the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music wasn't something we could hear very well, but it would've been fun to hear it because it seemed to be a good mix. Unfortunately, mostly what we heard the entire time we were there were orders being called over a loudspeaker. So if you don't want to hear the loudspeaker don't sit under the covered area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this is a fun new, hip beach joint. Great for lunch or stopping after a day on the lake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

FIRE AF! DELICIOUS AF! Service wasn't slow or fast cuz they making it to order so to the car(s) that were beeping at us, "honk if you're horny" lol [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is always packed and when I eat there I know why[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also idgaf if this convince you to try em out or not just do it if you want and don't do it if you don't [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is lake town (maybe Laketown) america with all the fixings[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] K bye

Zipz isn't it for me. Long lines, slow service, and overpriced food and shakes. Compared to other shakes in the area, this one tasted very artificial. It wasn't terrible but definitely a let down to the neighboring competition. We waited in line for 20+ minutes and then waited another 20+ for our single shake to be ready. And it didn't really feel like it was worth it. ZIpz might not be my cup of tea, but there's a chance it's yours. So give it a try the next time you're in town!

We passed the long line at Zips a few times wondering what we were missing, and finally decided to try it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a good layout with lots of seating and yard games, and they call your order over an intercom so you can hear in the crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They have good fry sauce but the rest of the food is very mediocre. Our fries were barely salted, and salt isn't offered among the sizable seasoning & sauce bar! I tried the coconut shrimp basket which was fine- it and our fries came out pretty fast, our shakes a couple minutes later... and our burgers were ready almost 15 minutes after the fries! They were decent large burgers but the timing made for an awkward meal. The shakes definitely are 'least famous'- ie don't even bother, go to another spot for a better one! Stopped by Zipz while spending a week at Bear Lake and for classic fast food fare, it was great. We tried a bit of everything from fries, onion rings, tatter tots, basic cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp. My 13 yo son ordered the cheeseburger. "I had a very big juicy burger that tasted very good and had a good amount of bacon. I also love their fries and tater tots they were cooked to perfection and tasted very delicious and crunchy." 4.5/5 My 16 yo daughter ordered the chicken fingers that came with 5 large fingers, she only ate 3 of them. "I got the chicken fingers and they were wonderful. It came with many fingers, all breaded deliciously and the ranch they had to dip in had a very cool and complimentary taste." 4.5/5 I ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich and while the flavor was really good with a little sweet and spicy, not hot, and really good, it was a little messy. I would order it again. 4/5 My wife ordered the coconut shrimp and they were some of the best I've ever had, yes I stole a couple. Dipping sauce was excellent. 5/5 Pineapple Dole whip was cold and refreshing and tasted great. 5/5 Fries tots and onion rings were all good, but I thought the onion rings lacked a little flavor. 4/5 The dipping sauces at the outside bar were fun and plentiful. We'll be back.

A few years later and we still love Zipz! You can't go wrong with ordering their cheeseburger and a side of fries. They are both cooked to perfection. My husband usually loves their banana cream pie shake, but they made it differently this time and he was left disappointed. My daughter was really looking forward to the fried Oreos, but it looks like they removed those from the menu. They also ran out of their famous Zipz sauce (it was 11:00am when we went). We were bummed, but we'll be back next year :) P.S. If you like muddy buddies, get the shake! It's delicious!

Bear Lake Muenster burger with raspberry jalapeño jam, Muenster cheese, and Boursin cream was a surprise and the goat of the day. Service was fast and food was better than expected for a tourist destination

So 5 start! Sweetest humans working there. We were there on July 4th and the service was so fast... to be honest, I don't really love ice cream but I was told I cannot be in Garden City and not have a raspberry shake. I LOVED IT! It was so refreshing, & of course I got cheesecake in mine because why not! If you are at bear lake you need to stop by!! Such a cute place! I think from now on this is the only ice cream I'll eat, it's so yummy!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was packed everyday we were there!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Don't worry though, the line moves pretty quick and they get your food out fast. I was really impressed how fast we got through the line. The food was great and so were their shakes. I like the sauce bar. They have everything for you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fun area to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I had a few special requests due to me sharing my burger with my dog and they did not disappoint. The shake was really good. Blended well. I had raspberry and Oreo cookie. It would've been nice to taste a little more raspberry in the shake. They pride themselves on using fresh raspberries and that is the reason. Fresh fruit mixed with dairy tampons the tartness and dulls a lot of the sweetness.. I believe macerating some raspberries and sugar and finishing with some fresh lemon zest or even a little lemon juice and adding that to the fresh raspberries would knock it out of the park. I put it on the floorboard so my dog wouldn't get at it and accidentally knocked it over. It was so thick that only the huge amount that sticks out of the cup touched the floor mat. Awesome!!!!!!! I got the biggest burger they had. A half pound with two kinds of cheese and pastrami burger. It wasn't called a pastrami burger so I'm not gonna complain that it's just one thick slice. It was more like how you would add bacon to a burger. All the veggies were super fresh. Their choice of bun is the best bun I've had since my road trip began a week ago. Here's my opinion on the burger. The burger had no beef flavor. The only flavor came from the wonderful charcoal grill marks on the burger. Don't be afraid of salt. It's a chef's favorite condiment. The biggest complaint and my only true complaint is that the burgers have a horrible texture to them. Like two quarter pounds of beef breakfast sausage. Not good. If somehow it is how ground I'd recommend using a smaller die and leaving out the transglutaminase. Dog loved it. Would I come again? I sure would. Mos Def

Be aware there are no refills on drinks. This place is usually packed around peak meal times. They are usually fast and efficient. Limited menu and nothing unique but homey burgers with the fixings. They put fry sauce on everything and pickles are always included. The chicken tenders are just ok, the kiddos in our family probably wouldn't order them again. They also have shakes and dole whip available. There are lots of picnic tables with umbrellas. The patio allows dogs but I wouldn't label it dog friendly as it can get too hot. Personally I suggest they get more shade structures, tarps, awnings, huge planters with canopy trees/shrubs just to cool down the patio. It is a large exposed concrete slab next to a large dusty gravel lot and it gets sweltering out there. Even with the umbrellas on half of each table it gets dangerously hot for the elderly, infants and pets. I would skip if there is a big line, but would recommend if there is no line just to get gooey garlic cheese curds.

To give some context, I had been struggling with depression and having a particularly difficult day. My husband thought getting me out of the house, taking a scenic drive to Bear Lake, and treating me to one of my favorite comfort foods, cheese dip from this restaurant, might help lift my spirits. The drive was beautiful despite the rainy weather, and for the first time all day I actually started feeling a little better. That feeling disappeared the moment we walked into the restaurant. The restaurant was not busy, yet my family stood at the host stand for quite a while without being acknowledged. Employees were nearby, but no one greeted us or even let us know someone would be with us shortly. While we were waiting, a server spoke with a gentleman behind the host stand. Immediately afterward, a group seated near the entrance was moved to a different table. We were then seated at the exact table they had just vacated. The silverware was still disheveled from the previous guests, and it became obvious why they had asked to move. Every time the front door opened, cold air blew directly onto the table. Seeing that there were at least eight or nine open tables throughout the restaurant, I politely asked our server if we could also move. Her response was that her boss said we could not. Thinking there must be some misunderstanding, I looked around at all the empty tables and asked if there really was not another table available. She explained it would be outside of her section. As someone who has worked as a server myself, I understand section assignments. However, this restaurant is very small, and the alternative tables were only a short distance away. It was not a matter of a long walk across a large dining room. The part that really bothered me was the attitude. The request was met with annoyance rather than understanding. After refusing, the server abruptly responded, "No, so what do you want to drink?" At that point, we decided to leave. We calmly gathered our three children and walked out. No one apologized, no one asked if there was a way to make things right, and no one seemed to care that a family was leaving. What makes this especially disappointing is why we came in the first place. We had driven 2.5 hours specifically to visit this restaurant because my husband was trying to help pull me out of a difficult slump. We were not looking for anything special, just a warm meal, a comfortable table, and a pleasant experience. Instead, we were treated like a nuisance for making a simple request in a nearly empty restaurant. I rarely leave negative reviews, but the combination of poor hospitality, dismissive service, and a complete lack of concern for the customer experience left a lasting impression, and unfortunately not a good one.
