First time here and lunch was busy. I'm a huge fan of Afghan food and was hoping this place was legit. Absolutely is! Ordered the lamb gyro platter and a side of pumpkin. It wasn't really what I was expecting when it was brought out, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was essentially a rice bowl topped with lamb gyro, white sauce, salad, and fries (kinda like Halal Guys minus the fries). For $12 its a good portion although the fries were more of a 'garnish' so you're not getting a full side of more carbs. It was a great combination of flavors and too much to finish. The pumpkin was good, a little sweeter than I like, but served as a contrast to all the salty/savory of the gyro. The naan was thicker than most, but when eaten warm, it was awesome. Very satisfying lunch and will definitely be back to try a kebob. read more

It's worth the stop in! The falafel is the best I've had! Hummus has a lot of flavor and wishes. I had more pitas to eat it all. Large portions and priced right. Make the stop in. The place is clean, and the parking does get full in the plaza area. read more

I'm rooting for this special place to stay since it's so close to home. First time picking up food from here & was amazed by all the flavors. Looking forward to my next visit. The only negative: although there was no line, I stood there for a few minutes without being acknowledged, not even any eye contact. A couple 'excuse me's' helped to see if my online order was ready. I waited 10 minutes longer than the given time it would be ready (30 mins), watching them put my order together. A complementary rice pudding was added to my bag so who could be upset. Best Afghan cuisine in MD. They have a variety of options and they will do their best to please you. I am on the larger side and prefer alot of protein so i asked for this combo of lamb chops, shrimp, and chicken. Food came out hot and perfect. I enjoyed the chicken kabob and the chicken seekh kabob. Only reason I give it 4 stars is because it took 45 min to give us our order and it was slightly undercooked. This place is the bees knees. Legit. The best food I've had in a long time. I've been here 3 times and the food is consistently amazing. The lamb kabob is my go-to order, but anything here is absolutely delicious. The flavors are perfect and the plate is balanced, nutritionally speaking. Large portions but you can always take some home. I highly highly recommend that you try it. The prices are reasonable for what you get and the service is good. We also got the afghan ice cream for desert and it was a large portion, even for my husband and I to share, but again.. OH SO YUMMY! The atmosphere is decent too. It has a modern, fun decor. We heard good things about this place and decided we needed to try it. WOW! The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, staff was friendly and the environment was welcoming and comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabab, Lamb Gyro, Hummus, and Lamb Curry. Absolutely no disappointment with any of these dishes and I trust everything on the menu will present the same enjoyable, tasty, and scrumptious experience. I would highly recommend this place. Be sure to say hello to Fahim (owner) who happily stopped to speak with us. This group also owns Kabul Grill and Maiwand Grill in Baltimore. Five stars, wow. Food so good that I couldn't stop eating, even after I was full! I had a veggie platter - several stews of spinach, chickpeas, potatoes and peas, tomatoes, and sweetened pumpkin around a spiced basmati rice that was fantastic. They have a kids menu with a chicken skewer option served with fries, pita, potato stew, and rice. The tandoori chicken tasted great. Portions are ample. The whole place is clean and service was very fast. Style is fast casual. I love that for dine-in customers, they provide real plates and metal utensils, and do not rely on single use plastics! I don't make a habit of reviewing restaurants, but this one deserves a shout-out. I went recently in person after I needed to pick up a grocery item at nearby MOM's organic market. The first thing that stood out was that I don't think I have seen a restaurant that clean in years. I mean it looked immaculately, almost unrealistically clean. I ordered the Saturday special of the day (Nihari stewed Beef Shank), and I could eat a bowl of that sauce as a soup every day of my life. Since then I have tried the Monday lamb curry, Thursday Dopiza, Friday Lamb Potato Curry specials and all of them have been absolutely phenomenal, and would be my go-to dish at any other restaurant. A special call-out needs to be said about the "Chicken Tikka Masala," which I think they named so that white people would find something not so intimidating to order. However, I think they took the caricature of Chicken Tikka Masala and elevated it from dish that relies on heavy cream for it's flavor... and turned it into the most complex, delicious dish that relies on caramelized onions, fenugreek, and complex array of spices. I wish that I had tried this restaurant the first time I noticed it... because it has easily become one of my favorite in the area. These folks really know how to cook some great food. Try those specials... I've loved every one I've had so far, and they're a really good price. read more

Stopped in here last week to get some takeout after a long drive midway from Savannah to Massachusetts and the man that waited on us (I think he was an owner) at the counter was very hospitable! Gave us a fresh piece of naan warm out of the oven while we waited and he stayed and chatted with us (they were getting ready to close but could tell we needed food!) We ordered the beef kabab meal and the chicken kabab meal. Got back to our hotel room and everything was so good!! On our next trip to Savannah, we'll stop back here midway and order again! I love this place! I've been here at least 8-10 times since opening. The food is fresh, guilt-free and the service is wonderful. The first time I came, I met the owner, Faheem and he is super pleasant and friendly. Honestly, even the young man that has been at checkout is super helpful and pleasant. I appreciate that, since that's not always the case in public establishments. I love that it's also patronized by Afghan people too, because it affirms for me that the food is authentic. The restaurant is clean and I appreciate that they have a level of quality assurance that is unmatched. I really like this place a lot, did I say that? I use to go to Maiwand which is closer to home, but now, i only go to Ziza! My favorites are the chicken gyro bowl, the braised lamb special on Thursdays. Oh, and the Afghan ice cream is sooo good! Stopped here on way to DC. It's a mile off of 95 and we found it by "accident". It's a gem! The restaurant is clean and smells delicious! All of the food that we ordered was so tasty and well prepared. You order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Service is really good and quick.
