Skinos NYC is absolutely incredible, every single thing we ate was amazing. From the moment we sat down, we were treated to free bread, hummus and olives, which were delicious and such a great touch. This place is extra special to us because we got engaged here, and the servers made the experience even more memorable by being genuinely kind, attentive, and celebratory. For appetizers, we tried the octopus, grilled calamari, spreads platter, veggie chips, meatballs, and sausage. The octopus and grilled calamari were perfectly cooked, the veggie chips were nice and crispy, the meatballs were incredibly flavorful, and the sausage was well made and super yummy. The only thing we would skip next time is the spreads platter, it is delicious but since you already get bread and hummus for free, it felt a bit unnecessary. For our mains, we have had the burger, lamb chops, steak, grilled chicken, chicken skewers, Chilean sea bass and branzino. Every dish was outstanding every time we've come to visit. The chicken was cooked beautifully with rainbow carrots , the steak was excellent with cheeses mashed potatoes, the burger was satisfying with fries, and both the chicken skewers and the fish with risotto were packed with flavor. Truly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. To top it all off, their drinks are delicious and well crafted. Skinos is a perfect spot for a special occasion or just an amazing meal. I went to Skinos to Celebrate my sister's birthday. We were a party of 7. When you first walk up to the restaurant, the front door is inviting with a neon sign and flowers hanging. There are flowers hanging from the ceiling and the wall all throughout the restaurant. Itsa great place to take photos. With that being said, the wait staff seemed a little impatient with people taking photos in the DESIGNATED photo area which is near the kitchen. I think they should be a little friendlier and understanding when it comes to that. Otherwise, rhe wait staff provided great service and was very accommodating. I will be the first to say that the group that I was with can be very particular about things, but they accommodated each of us! The food was great! I had the the sirloin steak. Skinos is a beautiful restaurant. From the exterior decor, to the dining room and even the ladies restroom upstairs are all so beautifully decorated ! We had a party brunch in a private room upstairs fit for about 30 persons. It was a beautiful room. Skinos is such a popular restaurant that there was a wedding party AND a birthday all in the upstairs area. However it did not feel busy or crowded. We had a pre-fixe brunch menu with starters that included a mezze spread, saganaki and watermelon feta salad (perfect for that hot summer day). I opted for the chilean sea bass. I would not recommend this restaurant two to the fact of the two flights of stairs. My mother and I had to go up just to get to our table when there was elevators in the back we ordered distilled water and was brought sparkling the fake flowers that dripped over certain areas caught my mother's hair the bread and the dip had a string of something unknown in it. The place setting was dirty we had to send a plate back for a new one. The food came. The appetizer calamari was very delicious. However, my drink Jamison and Ginger ale taste like it had no ginger ale in it. When our main course came, my mother steak was well done when it was ordered medium well it had too much fat, and she had almost cut through the entire steak just to get to meat. My pasta was thick and not al dente and the meat that was supposed to be duck did not taste like duck. The overall experience was disappointing the food, the service where you had maître D's that did not know where to do their play settings did not know where to place the food to whomever ordered and dropped a place setting to the ground. Came to Skinos for my friends bridal shower and although the place is beautiful, it was definitely a missed opportunity for the food. It's very aesthetically pleasing and so many photo opportunities, even in the bathroom but the food was not what was expected for a place that looks so nice. Also parking was very difficult in this area. I can only speak on behalf of the event space and event food but I was very underwhelmed. For starters the food took 2 hours to come out and everyone was starving . The drinks also took a very long time to come out , mind you we were only a group of about 25 people & I did not see that the restaurant had many other people plus this was an event so we had our own designated waiters and it still took very long. For appetizer I had the mandarin salad , it was good. For entree I had the beef short rib and it was dry , not tender or juicy and the flavor was missing for me. For dessert it was an assortment of Greek desserts, they were okay nothing stood out. Overall , I don't think I'd go back. The place seemed to cater to influencers but not really foodies. This was my second time visiting Skinos and it was a lot better than my first experience. The food tasted better and the drinks were better. I believe they upgraded their menu. I literally had the same dish and fortunately it was better this time around. The waiter Michael was really attentive, to the point that he saw my friend's about to eat their Branzino and offered to filet for them, which he did right at the table. The service was the absolute worst I have ever received after living in my for 57 years. A group of 35+ had one waitress and one bus boy. They also worked other tables outside of our group. About25% of the group received appetizers before dinner the others received appetizers after dinner was served. The food was below mediocre at best. Proceed with Caution At first, the experience was good -- until it absolutely wasn't. I purchased a Pulsd deal for bottomless brunch, where you pay gratuity and any extras at the restaurant. They also offer a bottomless option on their menu. Our server? She showed up exactly three times in two hours -- to take the order, drop off food, and then disappear. We had to chase down random servers just to get refills. After almost 90 minutes, when we asked another server for drinks, our original server resurfaced only to tell us bottomless time was up. When we pointed out her absence, she got defensive, gaslighted us, and dragged her feet getting us another carafe -- which took another 45 minutes. Getting the check was an ordeal too -- another 45-minute wait after asking other staff for help. We asked for the manager. Instead of coming to the table, he sent more mimosas -- like that fixes bad service. When I tried to give feedback on the way out, he brushed it off with, "It was busy," even though it really wasn't when we arrived. The food? Amazing. The drinks? Okay. The service? Abysmal.
